Amundson on Tim. How do we not post him up every time?

And would someone please put Dragic on his ass next time he goes down the lane?

Capt Bringdown

We've never been a good ft shooting team, the Spurs are just not playing with any sense of urgency in a closeout game, that's depressing. It's win or go home and guys are afraid especially Hill and Jefferson. And Mason is bringing nothing as usual. Put in Temple.

Disturbingly bad transition defense and embarrassingly bad offense.

George Hill standing at the top of the key, picks up his dribble and no one moves for 3 seconds...?

I am not normally a Popp basher but, how the hell does that even happen in an NBA game? The more tired Duncan is the predictably inefficient our offense is.

But that actually makes sense. Not to mention Mcdyess can guard guys like Frye and Dudley because all they do is sit at the 3 point line and wait. If Pop wants to give them the shots, then Dice is in the paint to protect. If he wants to play them straight up Dice shouldn't have any trouble staying with those softies.

I just don't get it.

In seasons past we always played the three point shooters and allowed Amare to go crazy. It worked because the lost the extra points they gather by shooting their threes. Why have we abandoned this strategy. Also, the first quarter our D was very effective by running early double teams on Nash and then we stopped for no apparent reason.

They'd do better trying to run RJ off a series of screens because he isn't that good at creating his own shot....as someone mentioned earlier, he's good at driving on guys rotating to him but gets held up often beyond 2 dribbles. If they run him off of a few down screens it should yield some positive results.

The Suns already have attempted 16 times!!!

Even if we are 50% from the field and the Suns are near 40% we are ahead still behind.

It's the same thing we used to do to other teams, the Suns are making more 3 points than us and that is what is going to win it for them.

Duncan has like 4 or 5 post-ups for the entire game IIRC, maybe 6..he scored on 1, drew a foul on 1, and got doubled and got Manu an open 3 for 1..he swung the ball the rest of the time..

They've pretty much neglected him in the post for some reason, same with last game..

It's playing to the Suns strategy..they're killing our perimeter players and the p&r, while doubling Duncan down low, so I'm not sure why they aren't going to him more..maybe afraid about his FT shooting..

For some reason, they aren't reposting Timmy after the double comes....some of that is a result of the crosscourt passes he's making in the direction of the guy comeing over to help on him, but they need to make a serious effort to get him the ball back.

Again, this team does not have the right mental apporach. Whatever Pop is trying to do with his small ball and other off the wall ideas, the players do not believe in him. It has gotten to the point where they do not believe in each other. Manu carried the team at the end of the season, but the team has not been a team all season.
