Where does that put Kobe on the all time list?
The good
4 Championships
1 MVP
1 Finals MVP
2 Scoring titles
Multiple All NBA and All Defense selections.
The bad
Worst NBA finals performer in history in the Top 15 greatest player category (24 ppg 41% FG 3 TO in 6 attempts)
Probably the only player to lose 3 Finals appearance in the modern era
Lowest PER rated among the Top 15 players in the league.
How would you fairly rank him? His playoff performance against WCF teams have been nothing short of amazing, but he always folds at the biggest stage.
Lets consider the hypothetical scenario that Bryant loses again this year to defend LA's title, how devastating would this be on Bryant's legacy considering LA is favored to win it all this year and they will have HCA against Boston.

Celtics in 5.
Celtics in 5.

It'd be a dent to Bryant, but, I could live with it cuz it would default the Suns at O & 42.
tee, hee.

So, what does that say to all of the players in the WCF and ECF not making the final dance and their legacies.....
I love that you continue to disparage a player who's already a lock in the HOF.

Kobe is a top 5 player all time.
until John Wall bumps him down to 6-10

what has Kobe won in college?
what has he won without a top 5 Center next to him?

On a hypothetical note, he would've been teamed up with who on the Duke BlueDevil team? Elton Brand? That would've been a great tandem in the collegiate level...I know his shoes were worn by the BlueDevil team this past spring and they went on to win it all haha.

There's a flawed argument...what NBA Champion has won a title w/o some talent around them?

You know, it's not really Kobe or Gasol or whoever on the Lakers that I detest, because they're just doing their jobs. They're getting paid big $$$ to win games and win championships, so that's what they try to do, and I respect that. What I detest is the whole media circle jerk that rides the cock of Phil Jackson and the Lakers, and all their frontrunning bandwagon fans who don't have a clue who Jerry or Earvin is. Anything before 2000 is just a blank to them...fucking cholos. :lol

Everybody bandwagons, Dude. It's not just exclusive to our fanbase. It's the nature of the beast and of America/circa the Internet Age. Nobody wants to be a loser.
And the Media only rides our cock to a point, and that's because riding that cock sells "newspapers"....Media ain't no different than McDonald's or Ford, they're just another business entity looking to make a buck, and as many bucks as they possibly can. Riding our cock sells more widgets than riding San Antonio or Phoenix cock. It's just business, Dude. You're taking it personal.

The OBSESSION.... continues! :lmao
Running out of teams to bandwagon and put in your sig I see.
How about you answer this question. When the Lakers spank the Celts and go on to win thier 16th and Kobe his 5th... how would you rank him?
Personally i could care less if he is top 3 or top 200 as long as he helps bring our team the title but since you are so obsessed... let's hear your take if they win it.

If he wins the title and Finals MVP(which he automatically would, since the MVP would never vote against him), then I would have him in a legit argument for #7..if he loses, I'd keep him where he is, which is around #10 off the top of the dome..
Nice to see you posting again CR..

Dissing someone cuz he lost two Finals series but won 4 finals series is nit-picking imo.

No, Kobe is definitely NOT the worst basketball player of all time, but he's not the best, either. Somewhere in the Top 10, I'd say.

Personally I give 2 shits if someone wants to argue about his current status ...cool.
But this is a hypothetical off of where he will rank ... and dude is far from over career wise. he can add or hurt his legacy in his last few years ...
Who cares?
Magic lost 3 Finals and Kobe has lost 2 and he may lose 3 ...
Does that hurt his legacy?
People on here are soo childish ...

Kobe's finals performances in 2004 and 2008 did tarnish his resume. Absolutely. But when you consider the rest of his career, it doesn't hurt him too much. If the Lakers do lose in the finals this year, it could hurt him more, but it would depend how he plays and if they get beaten badly or not. If Kobe plays great, shoots the ball well, is unselfish getting teammates involved, and Boston just outplays them, it doesn't really change things.
And people might not remember, but guys like Magic, Kareem, and Wilt all lost four NBA finals. All three are still very often considered top 5 players ever.

I don't think losing this year would hurt him either way TBH..I can't really think of anybody I would drop him behind if he played poorly in this year's Finals, especially since the guys around the spot where I have him had those types of moments as well..

If Kobe wins a title this year with another Finals MVP, id put him in the Top 10. If he does'nt then he remains in the top 11-15 range. People say they dont care about this issue but as sports fans you knwo damn well that your favorite players rank means a lot to you.

All of those players were trendsetters though and they flourished in a time when the league does'nt really have a true "Superstar".

Kobe is a top 5 player all time.
:lmao @ a guy with one title and one MVP shooting like 40% over his career being a top 5 player of all time.
Jordan
Kareem
Russel
Chamberlain
Magic
Bird
Olajuwon
Duncan
Shaq
Robertson
Dr. J
All these guys, and those were off the top of my head, are ahead of Kobe on the GOAT list. Only Kobe-Cock-Gobblers think he is in the top 5 or better than Jordan. Plain and simple he is a one dimensional player who does nothing useful but score the ball and even then he shoots his team out of games too often. Kobe is just a taller Allen Iverson.
