How would you fairly rank him? His playoff performance against WCF teams have been nothing short of amazing, but he always folds at the biggest stage.
Lets consider the hypothetical scenario that Bryant loses again this year to defend LA's le, how devastating would this be on Bryant's legacy considering LA is favored to win it all this year and they will have HCA against Boston.

On a hypothetical note, he would've been teamed up with who on the Duke BlueDevil team? Elton Brand? That would've been a great tandem in the collegiate level...I know his shoes were worn by the BlueDevil team this past spring and they went on to win it all haha.

You know, it's not really Kobe or Gasol or whoever on the Lakers that I detest, because they're just doing their jobs. They're getting paid big $$$ to win games and win championships, so that's what they try to do, and I respect that. What I detest is the whole media circle jerk that rides the of Phil Jackson and the Lakers, and all their frontrunning bandwagon fans who don't have a clue who Jerry or Earvin is. Anything before 2000 is just a blank to them... ing cholos.

And the Media only rides our to a point, and that's because riding that sells "newspapers"....Media ain't no different than McDonald's or Ford, they're just another business en y looking to make a buck, and as many bucks as they possibly can. Personally i could care less if he is top 3 or top 200 as long as he helps bring our team the le but since you are so obsessed... let's hear your take if they win it.
If he wins the le and Finals MVP(which he automatically would, since the MVP would never vote against him), then I would have him in a legit argument for #7..if he loses, I'd keep him where he is, which is around #10 off the top of the dome..

No, Kobe is definitely NOT the worst basketball player of all time, but he's not the best, either. Somewhere in the Top 10, I'd say.

Kobe's finals performances in 2004 and 2008 did tarnish his resume. Absolutely. But when you consider the rest of his career, it doesn't hurt him too much. If the Lakers do lose in the finals this year, it could hurt him more, but it would depend how he plays and if they get beaten badly or not. If Kobe plays great, shoots the ball well, is unselfish getting teammates involved, and Boston just outplays them, it doesn't really change things.
And people might not remember, but guys like Magic, Kareem, and Wilt all lost four NBA finals. All three are still very often considered top 5 players ever.
