Actually, the German team we beat in Germany also had Ballack and the goal keeper that's injured now. But this is the World Cup. Klose somehow manages to show up for these tournaments after sucking it up in club play all season long.

That said, they already lost a game. They can definitely be beat. Hope Argentina pulls it off.

lol Brazilians still pulling the "B team" card, I already said this but I'll say it again, look at that Brazilian squad and look at the one in this WC, they're the same team with the exception of Kaka, that truth be told isn't making much of a difference in this WC, besides Julio Baptista (Kaka's replecement) was the guy that opened the score in that final.

Let's take our homer glasses for a second. And we will see Germany although are very dangerous, has YET to play a competitive team.

Anybody who says Argentina is not the clear favorite is smoking hard crack. Argentina should easily win this one in regulation.

that being said if Argentina defense is shaky in any way, the Germans will make them pay. their forwards are extremely dangerous.

I don't see this Argentina team with Tevez + Messi losing to these young german guns. It would definitely be a huge upset. But.... not gonna happen.

germany can live with the underdog role!
its a little bit like the spurs where several years ago: dont like to be the favs too much, but work well as a team to be stronger than people think (the usual "bla bla bla...equals more than the sum of its parts" thing). if I had to bet on a team, I'd take argentina, but not by much. argentina's defense is shaky (demichelis plays for the german national champion and is kind of the laughing stock there) and if germany can hit them early via good, fast attacks (like they did in previous games), they have a nice chance to win it.

when seeing a team, people tend to only see the offense...and that is argentinas weakness (germany didn't look that good in this regard as well)...I'm pretty sure, we will see a lot of goals in this one (over/under is at 2.5 and you are insane, if you take the under!)

and if germany is out, you can bet I'm for the maradona squad!

I'm not sold our defense is weaker at all when we're playing 4 guys at the back.
I think that thought has been overly exaggerated. Demichelis so far has been basically the only liability, and adding Samuel should make the defense even more solid. What is really thin for Argentina is the midfield, but after watching all 5 games, I'm starting to get convinced that it's by design, so we move quickly from defense to attack, seeing that we've very quick guys upfront.

argentinas right side defense is pretty weak, but we don't have dribblers for that side (Lahm, Müller are on the right attack side and özil is in the center...most of the time tending to be a little further right as well)...on our left side podolsky can light up the scoreboard but nothing more.

the whole strategie of the german team (aside from counter attacks) is to load the right attack side and have poldy "spacing the other side"...problem is: most opposing teams have the better defenders on that exact same side!

That was true when Gutierrez was playing as a right back, now with Otamendi is another thing, he has been our best player in the last two games we've played (the only two he has played).

My only concern in the back is Demichellis, I hope Maradona realizes this and subs him.

as I said: the right defensive side wont be challenged at all...in germany everybody loves Podolski but we also know, that he has only one skill: shooting...and even there he didnt look that good vs. Serbia.

good thing if Demichelis plays: Lahm, Müller, Klose, Schweinsteiger, Podolski know him from Bayern Munich (of course vice versa too)...so basically oll of our attack knows where the weakness is.

ElNono
06-29-2010, 01:19 PM
It's going to be very interesting indeed... Podolski played almost as a full back against England, and he shouldn't need to stay that far back against Argentina. On the other hand, Lahm is going to have to be careful going up with Di Maria playing on his back.

quentin_compson
06-29-2010, 01:24 PM
Well, if I were Argentine, I would cringe at Demichelis possibly playing. But the Germans have had their shaky moments on the defensive end as well. And the left back will probably be a weakness, no matter who Löw is going to trot out.

Well, should be an interesting game. But I see Argentina taking it.

Germanys defense is pretty weak on its left side (behind Podolski) Badstuber didnt look good and Boateng also isnt that great (we basically dont have a left back aside from Jnsen, which hasnt played a game for 3-4 months now)...after out first few games, everybody told Poldi to help there and that makes sense for me, as he will be on his prefered offensive position (hanging a little behind on the left sid) in time.

Another problem might be Mertesacker...He probably is our best full back, but dindt look well the least few games. Schweinsteiger will have to help a lot.

Gabriel Heinze was born to a German father and an Italian mother.

in argentina.

for germany:
klose- born in poland, polish parents
podolski- born in poland, polish parents
cacau- born in brazil, brazilian parents

sure, they chose to nationalize. I'm not saying germany forced them. but I'll be very impressed if you find me a single player not born in brazil/argentina to have played for them. Italy, Germany, holland, france have more than a few.

Kloses father is german, his mother is polish. And he was born in a former german territory.
Podolskis parents are both polish, he was also born in a former german territory, his parents emigrated to Germany when he was 2 years old. So it's no surprise that he sees germany as it's homecountry.

With Cacau you're right and even I don't understand why he plays for the german team. He didn't grow up in germany, has no german origin, but he got the german citizenship in 2009.

i didnt mean to single out germany with my comment, but its clear that more european teams nationalize players than south american teams. We can get all technical with motives, borders, mixed parents etc etc but bottom line you'll be lucky to find 10 examples, of whichever composition, in all south american teams' history, vs several examples of whichever composition in EACH WC for european teams.

Perhaps your right and the european nationalteams are more "international" than the south american teams. But as I pointed out in most cases it has nothing to do with searching for good players and give them a german passport. Most of the players are born in Germany. So they are germans although their parents are turkish, spanish or whatever.
And players with mixed parents have to make their decision for one country. Some take the country they live in and grew up, like Özil for Germany, Montolivio for Italy and so on. Some players take the homecountry of their fathers, like Kevin Boateng and Ghana or Nuri Sahin and Turkey, - or Lucas Barrios for Paraguay.
For other countries like England or France you have to keep in mind the historical background with all their former colonies.

It's not only the fact of being born in Upper Silesia (Gliwice for Podolski and Opole for Klose), but also in both cases the parents belonged to the German minority within that particular area. That's why the parents got the status as so called resettlers ("Aussiedler") after their emigration to Germany.

yes, and many times they choose the nationality of the team where they have the better chance to play, and sometimes where they have the better chance to win. if i'm not mistaken podolski and klose's parents were athletes that represented poland internationally, which is why I assumed they are both 100% polish. I already said its the players/agents that are behind this, not the federations.

in any case my point stands- european teams are strengthened by nationalized players, otherwise they wouldn't be called up.

also, I will echo elnono, i have tons of respect for the german NT. it seems like they always make at least semis, many times without well known players- that speaks volumes about their depth, understanding of the game, toughness and commitment. also, a lot of respect for brehme for admitting the foul didnt exist in the 90 wc

Everybody saw that it wasn't a penalty. But to be fair - there was a situation before where the ref should have given a penalty. But it's 20 years ago and i think the better team won that time.

BTW - my prediction for champion before the WC started: Argentina ;-)

How many players with indian roots playing for Argentina? :D

I say 60:40 chances for Argentina. Their defense (Demi) is always good to fuck it up (watched too many Bayern games last year), same with the german.

Argentinas offense has the bigger names but everything can happen (just remember spain-switzerland) and germany has the quality to punish every small mistake.

First goal wins the game...

The better team won 1986, the better team won 1990.

The foul on Augenthaler should have been the real penalty. I remember whole Argentina talking about how the ref "stole" their cup. Germany was better in this game, i hope finally 20 years later most of the ppl in argentina realized it too ;)

yes, it wasn't a penalty. however, as sefant wrote, it was a kind of a compensation for the not given penalty after augenthaler was clearly fouled in the box (around 65th minute I guess). I recall reading a comment in a book back in 1990. the author wrote that the refs' decision to call the decisive penatly "was not fair, but equitable". I still can't understand why so many argentineans still believe they were robbed. germany was clearly the better team throughout the entire final and they deserved the win.

Of course Argentina was a good team in 1990, too. To beat Brazil and Italy (at home) was quite impressive. Yeah, against Brazil you had some luck (I recall several times the Brazilians hitting the bar and the post), but luck is part of the game.

I just watched those two red cards (Monzon, Dezotti) against you on youtube. Can't believe that still many people on youtube (probably Argentineans, sorry to say) are still bitching about them. Monzon jumped into Klinsmann with outstretched legs and without a chance to hit the ball. Dezotti choked Kohler. Both scences are clearly visible. If these two are not a red card, I don't what is.

That foul by Monzon was ridiculous. The red card was well deserved.

I don't agree that Germany looked better so far. They had two impressive games - against Australia (a team you have to beat!) and England. But you have to keep in mind that England was clearly not a contender. England is always named as a frontrunner before World Cups but they never showed up. One semifinal the last 40 years is not very impressive.
England played poorly in all group stages games so it was no surprise that they lost the game against Germany.

I expect a very close game. Either team can beat the other one. Perhaps Argentina is the slightly favorite in this match.

In 1990 Argentina didn't deserve to be in the final based on the play they displayed during that tournament but in the final Codesal screwed us over, there's no other way around it, not only for the invented penalty but also for a penalty that didn't call in favour of Argentina prior to the goal.

And I don't know what non-called penalty in favour of Germany you're talking about but if it's the play around the 2:10 mark on this video, let me say that I don't see a penalty there. The play that I'm talking about is around the 3:00 mark, look how that German player sweeps Calderon's leg inside the box.

Pleasen DAF. Normally, I remembered you here as a fair member of this board, but now you can' be serious.

If you really think that the play at 3:00 is worth a penalty and the one at 2:10 is not, you are, sorry to say, a clear homer. Either you say both are not worthy to be awarded a penalty or both are. And the two red cards for Argentina were well deserved. Look at the videos above and if you think both Monzon and Dezotti shouldn't be suspended I don't know what to say...

Edit: I have to say that I have seen a couple of videos so far from different angles about this incident during the last 20 years. Probably not on this video you posted, but on other ones it was clearly visible that Goycochea jammed Augenthaler's leg between his own ones. If you haven't seen other videos of this incident yet, I apologize. But please do so and you will know what I mean.

I didn't say anything about Monzon or Dezotti, they were both well "red carded". I'm talking about those penalties. yes Im aware of the other play that should have been a penalty, but two wrongs dont make a right. its very different to get a penalty against you at the 65th minute, then for it to happen at the 90th. thats why 20 years later that final hurts so bad- not because argentina deserved to win or was the best of the tournament... but because we were very close to pulling it out against all odds and had it yanked at the last second by the ref.

ref errors are a part of all sports, but they always hurt more in the last minutes because you dont have a chance to overcome them.

Germans: Argentina shows no respect
Associated Press

ERASMIA, South Africa -- Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger accuses World Cup quarterfinals rival Argentina of showing no respect for opponents and referees, and urges his teammates not to be provoked.

Germany eliminated Argentina on penalty kicks four years ago at the same stage and there were chaotic scenes after the shootout, with both sides exchanging punches and kicks in a fracas that included team officials from both benches.

Soccer Fracas 2006 World Cup
The fracas at the end of Germany's 2006 World Cup win over Argentina has not been forgotten, German players said Wednesday.

"The shootout is still in our memory, but what really weighs heavily on our minds is what happened after that match," Schweinsteiger said Wednesday. "We have to remain calm and not get provoked and I hope the referee will be very alert.

"You could see their behavior at halftime of the game against Mexico. When you look at their body language and gesticulations, the way they try to influence the referees, they have no respect. It's their mentality and character and we'll have to adjust."

Mexico and Argentina players had to be separated as they headed for the tunnel at halftime of the teams' second-round game, with the Mexicans furious over Argentina's first goal that came when scorer Carlos Tevez clearly was offside.

Argentina won 3-1.

Schweinsteiger also accused Argentine fans of taking the places of others in the stadiums and refusing to move. It was not clear where he got his evidence from.

But the midfielder praised Argentina as a team, saying the squad coached by Diego Maradona was better in "every sector" than the team Germany beat four years ago.

Germany's team page
For more about Germany and its chances in South Africa this summer, click here.

Schweinsteiger singled out veteran Juan Sebastian Veron.

"He has played very strongly here. I have been impressed," Schweinsteiger said.

Schweinsteiger repeated that stopping Argentina star Lionel Messi will need a strong "collective effort."

"Other teams also have done it. He hasn't scored yet and we want to keep it that way," said Schweinsteiger, who has played 78 games for Germany although he is still just 25.

"We'll find the right game plan to hurt Argentina, although we know how strong Argentina is. At this level, you can't make mistakes, it's the details that decide the match."

Thomas Mueller, who scored twice against England, could be the deciding factor in the match, which might be embarrassing to Maradona.

By now, he should have heard of Mueller. The last time Argentina played Germany in a friendly in March, Maradona felt so slighted when Mueller sat on the podium with him at the postmatch news conference that he stormed off and refused to return until Mueller left the stage to the coach alone.

Mueller had just made his debut for Germany then. Now, he leads his team at the World Cup with three goals.

Argentina's team page

Coach Joachim Loew said forward Cacau is unlikely to recover from a right thigh injury in time for the match.

Argentina beat Germany 1-0 with relative ease in that March friendly in Munich. Schweinsteiger said that result meant little.

"One, it was a friendly. Two, they did not create many chances either. Three, we have gained a lot of confidence by beating England and the good tactics we used in that game," Schweinsteiger said.

Germany advanced to the quarterfinal with a 4-1 win.

Schweinsteiger said he expected the upcoming match to be a tactical affair, "just as it was in 2006."

Argentina has only one win over Germany at the World Cup, in the 1986 final when Maradona was still playing. Overall in the World Cup, they have met five times and twice in the final.

Maradona led Argentina to that 3-2 win in Mexico, while in Italy in 1990, Germany won 1-0 on a penalty kick. Those were also the last times either team won the World Cup.

Germany won a group match 3-1 in 1958 and the two teams drew 0-0 in another group match in 1966.

To be fair. The quotes from Schweinsteiger are not very well translated. He did not say that the Argentina doesn't show respect in general.

He said it more in the context that in his opinion "trying to influence the refs" does not belong to the game and is respectless. The media alwasy goes for those things. It was not really a big deal.

I hope Messi will be healthy. I want both teams at full strengh (even though Cacau will probably not play) and the better team to win without mistakes by the refs...

What? Its still a big thing what happened. And you should be the last guy naming other players "little bitches". And context dude. I saw the press conference and if you know Lahm you know he had a big smile on his face.

Starting fire? Sure if you have the small emotional little brain of a donkey like Heinze. Or maybe remembering about fairness and sportsmanship and being a fair loser. Did you see all the players after england-germany? Really long staying in the middle, talking, hugging etc. Thats how a game should end. Or how a series ends between Mavs and Spurs. No matter who wins, after the last game you see everywhere fair losers and winners.

What the argentinian players did after the loss was one of the most idiotic embarassing behaviour the past years in football. Right after turkey - switzerland. No excuses of the heat of the game or being dissappointed. The argentina players were talking trash to the germans in the midfield after every penalty. After the 4:2 Borowski told them to finally shut up. And Cufre kicking Mertesacker because he thought he was Borowski.

So my question: Why they have to talk trash between the penalties? AND then blacking out if you get an answer to your trash talk...

And of course what happened after it, Blatters payback asshole move to suspend Frings (since we blocked his personal wish of southafrica 2006 etc). Schweinsteiger was Frings replacement and he let Pirlo free for the goal.

Last thing what the argentinian players should so now is bitch about this comments, specially some players like Heinze.

Heinze, the other guy jumping and boxing into the crowd, another one kicking Mertesacker...

Tell me of another time where Argentina's player had that kind of incident after losing in a WC, it didn't happen in 2002, nor 98, nor 94, not even in 1990 when we lost in the final in the last minutes with an invented penalty, it never happened other than in 2006, something strange must have happened there.

All the Argie players said that the incidents happened 'cause the German players were taunting them (pointing out specially at Frings), including guys that I respect a lot like Cambiasso and Ayala. And seeing now that Frings got suspended and this "uncalled for" comments, I'm starting to think that it may be a little of truth behind it. Look how the Argie players go after a particular group of guys not all of the Germans, if they were angry just for the loss they wouldn't care about looking for a particular guy, they would just hit the first guy that crosses his path.

And regardless of what happened 4 years ago, there's no reason to do what the German players are doing, these aren't the same Argie and German squads (in Argentina there're just 4 or 5 players from the '06 roster) so I don't see the point of saying things like that, other than trying to mess with the Argentinians' heads.

The "taunter" was Borowski and it was a straight result of Argentina talking trash to the germans DURING the penalties in the circle.
Do you think he would have done it without your players starting with trash? Do you ever read about german players talking trash during penalties or iniciating taunting after a win? Even if its against England, Netherlands etc?

So again, it was pretty classless and weak from the players to blame the "taunting" germans after you provocate it with trash talk that doesnt belong there. But of course no camera could catch that :rolleyes

2006 was 99% argentinas fault. 1% german, they should have just ignored that shit.

And yes, Argentina has a history of being classless on the field, sorry. Anf if you dont think that the two red cards 1990 was a sore loser ending of a game then we should stop this discussion. Thats why journalists asked that question to Schweinsteiger and Lahm and thats why they answered with such words.

Not because they try to talk trash before the game, because argentina worked sucessfully over a long time to earn such comments.

Maybe we should stop this discussion since you don't even seem to care to look for facts before making an argument, Monzon was sent off when the game was tied.

And let's assume that what you say about Argie players talking trash is true, (on a side note:"o noes! talking trash in sports game"), talking trash during the game isn't the same as talking trash after the game specially when you won, that's just asking for a brawl. And even with your BS reasoning you accept that the fault is shared, so to bitch about something you helped create (like some German players are doing now) it's just uncalled for and a bitch move. Besides they are doing exactly what they're complaining about: provoke. How do you think the Argentinian players are feeling right now after those comments?

And to end, I don't hate the German NT like you say you do with the Argentinian NT 'cause I don't feel better than anybody and I'm not stupid enough to generalize and make assumptions of a coutry or a team for the acts of a few people.

And let's assume that what you say about Argie players talking trash is true, (on a side note:"o noes! talking trash in sports game"), talking trash during the game isn't the same as talking trash after the game specially when you won, that's just asking for a brawl. One important difference (from what i read in a lot of sources): the germans ignored the trash talking during the shootout and didnt talk back. It wasnt 2 teams talking trash to each other and the winner keep on talking trash after the win. It was the winner team not reacting during the game and telling the other team after the game to suck it up (the talk). Thats a huge difference. Player A is talking trash all the game to player B, player B is just ignoring it the whole game. he hits the buzzer in As face and tell him to suck up his trashtalk. So its all player Bs fault and A has the right to punch him? Just asking....

And even with your BS reasoning you accept that the fault is shared, so to bitch about something you helped create (like some German players are doing now) it's just uncalled for and a bitch move. Besides they are doing exactly what they're complaining about: provoke. How do you think the Argentinian players are feeling right now after those comments?I explained it up. I dont see any fault shared if the german players said nothing back during the shootout. Then (!)they could tell them to suck it up after the game, i dont see why not. If you talk trash and keep on talking rash even if the other player or team doesnt respond to it...dont blame anyone if you get a bad comment after you lost to him/them...

Maybe because its getting too emotional. So i remembered one timing of a red card wrong, my bad.

But see, that's the things with generalizations. You tend to make wrong assumptions about things just because of a pre-establized idea you have in your head.

One important difference (from what i read in a lot of sources): the germans ignored the trash talking during the shootout and didnt talk back. It wasnt 2 teams talking trash to each other and the winner keep on talking trash after the win. You may like it or not, but talking trash during a game it's just part of sports, everybody does it, you can answer back or not, but the good thing about it, it's that when the final whistle blows, everything is forgotten and you shake hands with your oponent 'cause you know that what is said on the pitch stays on the pitch. Talking trash after the game is unacceptable, no matter if you got "trash talked" during the game or not.

I explained it up.

I already explained the "trash talking" part.

You said that IYO the Germans were 1% responsible for the brawl, so that's saying the fault is shared. Every time there're incidents like this one, both sides are on fault (and not just with a 1%). Blaming the other side and not accepting any responsability is classless and just wrong. Specially bringing it up after four years and just a couple of days before playing that other side.

Dude, i dont hate the Arg NT or argentinian ppl. I said you have great players and NTs, i just dont like one specific side of a lot of argentinian players and thats the dirty side. Well, you did use the word "hate", but it doesn't matter, like I said I don't have a problem with German people either, in fact in this forum I criticized Alex Ferguson for generalizing and speaking bad about German people, for doing exactly what Lahm and Schweinsteiger are doing now with Argentina.

And I'm not negating the fact that generalizations exist I'm just saying that they're stupid and unfair.

Nice tactical preview:

Will be interesting if Maradona gonna change his diamond midfield and add a 2nd CM. I think he is a little bit worried about the speed of Özil/Müller/Poldi.

For germany i think Ballacks injury will become now bigger. Khedira played a nice cup but these are now the games where a Ballack is just better to have because he draws also the attention of the other team.

Im fine if we lose, beating England and reaching the QF was important, now everything is additional sugar with this bloody young team. Im just glad to see this potential, the EC/WCs the next 10 years should be fun.

Maradona won't bench any of the three attackers so the diamond stays, I think Argentina's formation adapts well to Germany's one.

The two center backs get Klose, the side backs get Podolski and Muller, Mascherano with Ozil, and either Di maria or Rodriguez (or whoever plays in the side of the midfield) gets Lahm. I would also put Tevez or Messi on Lahm's side so he can't attack as much as he usually does, and if he does we take advantage of the spaces on the counter.

The change I would like to see is Maradona benching Demichellis but he already said that won't happen, and I think Veron should play on this game, like I said above Germany's wingers can be marked by the defensive side-backs so Veron doesn't need to stay on the wing to mark players he can stay close to Mascherano to defend either Bastian S. or Kedhira and when we have the ball his ball control and passing would be huge for us, he will also allow Messi to play more as a finisher than a playmaker. And last but not least his experience and football presence would be a plus against a very young and unexperienced German team.

The team I would like to see:

Romero

Otamendi Burdisso Samuel Heinze

Veron Mascherano Di maria

Messi

Higuain Tevez

As much as I want the German's to lose, I'm finding it hard to believe our defense is going to shape up enough to stop the German offense. The way they dismantled England was outstanding, and I know England wasn't exactly the best team out there, but they played decently and our D isn't much better than theirs in all truthfulness.

No, this is going to be the hardest match we've played so far and I have my doubts we'll come out on top. I've grown to despise their arrogant bullshit, but as a team, Germany is pretty much on top in this WC.

for some reason, your posts have got my even more amped up to watch this match as if I wasn't already excited.

Messi will have to find his scoring touch and that Argie D is gonna have to step up.

I picked Argentina to win it all but I really want Argentina to win because Maradona will be giving the greatest presser in the history of world football afterwards.

If Argentina plays like they did against Mexico, they have no shot.

sons each team has a shot. I think will be a balanced game. The germans are too organized and hustle alot while the argies too talented and creative.

Whoever goes will probably fall to spain, because both teams cannot control midfield as spain does, and both their defenses are not great when pressured by technical sides (germans deal well with physicality but great controllers of the ball give them headaches). My 2 cents.

Sincerely, let the best team win, i'd either argentina or germany to go to the finals than spain.

Germany and their fans are starting to become the most obnoxious pieces of crap in the whole tournament.

That's how fucking arrogant and irritating these Germans have become.

I really don't understand how you can speak of "these Germans" in general. I talked to A LOT of fans over here and everybody has a great amount of respect for Argentina. Same thing goes for the majority of the german players. Most of them say that Argentina is a great team and hard to beat.

I really don't understand why some quotes (which are taken out of context) and maybe 1-2 opinions you read on the internet can make you "hate" somebody.

I am also sure that ALL players form Argentina also think that they will win as well. That is the mindest you need to have and nothing wrong with that.

Like i told.

Sadly, because they have great players and play great football but they have an emotional and classless side that i always hated and what makes me lose a lot of respect for them.

How about Brazil? More class than Argentina and a better team. Argentina has a bit of jealousy of their rival Brazil in futbol.

Well, for me Brasil is always the team to beat.

Their player and talent pool every single year is ridiculous. Dani Alves on the bench? In the past they often beat themselves but now with Dunga they are really scaring. I know everybody in Brasil hates him because of the style and for kicking out old washed up veterans but right now they remember me of Inter. Playing incredible controlled defense and then kill you with a few great individual moments.

My ranking for the rest of the tournament:
Brasil
Argentina
Germany and Spain
Netherlands

Spain had a weird worldcup. Pretty lucky several times (no red card Villa, offside goal etc) and they still have to proof that became a better tournament team.

I take Germany over the Netherlands because of the mental advantage.

i think we have better builders in midfield than inter, and as we go out on offense the brasilian style of passing in midfield can't be confused. :)

Thinking just that, the same thing happened in '06, Argentina got eliminated and everybody in Brazil was celebrating and saying that they will win it all and then they lost to France, let's hope that doesn't happen to us now. tbh, there's no need to feel relaxed or confident, Germany and Argentina are at the same level, in fact Germany has a better team cohesion, we depend a lot on how our stars wake up that day, that's never a good thing 'cause it can backfire at any point.

After the first 15 minutes I thought we were gonna lose by 10, luckily the team improved after that, too bad we couldn't weather the storm early in the game. Argentina is playing way too long (that means with a lot of distance between the defenders and attackers), that allows Germany to play way to comfortable on the middle, we need to fix that. And get Veron and Pastore in there for Di Maria and Maxi Rodriguez right now. Messi the only one showing something good for us so far.

Germany >>> Argentina so far. The only reason we aren't 3-0 right now is because they can't finish for shit, but their attacks have been clear, organized and they have picked our defense appart. We on the other hand are hoping either DiMaria, Tevez or Messi manage to beat Germany on their own practically. Granted their defense isn't that pretty either, but we're expending enormous ammounts of energy trying to get a shot in while they get to ours in 4 or 5 passes. Its ridiculous.
