Bulls will be a very solid team next year, maybe 3rd seed...Knicks could surprise us all, we just have to wait and see.

Other than the "huge market" appeal, I don't see the point of these two meeting for a X'mas game.

Big markets, opposing play-styles (Bulls are focused on defense, Knicks offense), and both teams grabbed a lot of new players including Amar'e and Boozer. Still should be entertaining but I agree a Lakers/Heat would've been better.

There's still (at least) another two slots here. They have two games on ABC and one on ESPN. This is probably the cable game. I can't imagine with the chance to put the two best teams in each Conference with Kobe Bryant and Lebron James going head-to-head (not to mention All-Stars Pau Gasol, Chris Bosh, Ron Artest, Dwyane Wade, Pat Riley, Phil Jackson) on the NBA's Showcase Day of the Year them not doing it. (Oops, I already fired Spolestra! :lol). If they don't go head-to-head, the Lakers and Heat will be working on Christmas day.
