Since only getting 3 hours of sleep results in me waking up early having to kill 3 hours before football, I might as well make this thread. This would be complete an awesome sports weekend, so please New England don't fuck it up.

As long as they win I don't give a shit, but Randy Moss having a huge day against Revis would be great.

I hope for the Patriots to kick ass only because then Belichick will have a shit eating grin on his face as he goes to shake Fat Fuck's hand. tbh I'd love it if Fat Fuck either refused to shake or did the classic Belichick nanosecond handshake as he's turning to leave.

If I were T-Rex I would put Revis on Welker on key downs. Cromartie has the size and speed to match up with Moss. Welker is a Jets' killer. Revis will make some plays against him. Force Brady away from WW. Moss will burn Croamartie once but Welker will advance the ball down the field.

DUNCANownsKOBE2

Cromartie has the size and speed to match up with anyone but that has nothing to do with being the retarded dipshit he is who gives up big plays.

Three things about this game.

1. lol 2nd half collapse on the road. Guess we're in for another year of that shit.

2. Brady isn't elite anymore. Putting him in the same category as Manning or Brees is laughable. He's a glorified Romo. Puts up pretty looking numbers but never delivers when it matters.

3. This is the worst pass rush in NFL history.

IronMexican

Hory shit. Why are you throwing in the towel for Brady already?

The knee isn't an excuse anymore. And his biggest problem isn't lack of protection or insecurity in the pocket, it's the fact that he's making stupid ass decisions with the football.

DUNCANownsKOBE2
09-19-2010, 08:11 PM
The worst part is they don't give a shit anymore. The "Us against the world" fuck you swagger they had in 2007 is completely gone, now they start off the game strong with that swagger but then at some point they lose it and start coasting. Bill Belichick is also no longer some coaching genius. The way they abandoned the run for no reason contributed hugely to the loss.

4 more years of uninspired Brady, then it's time for the rebuilding to start.

Can't wait.

Please. Brady wont let the team keep up like this for 4 years. They retool the D and suddenly they are elite again.

Please. Brady wont let the team keep up like this for 4 years. They retool the D and suddenly they are elite again.

The defense making Mark Sanchez look like Joe Montana was a problem, but it didn't lose the game.

Brady forcing idiotic passes and not being able to take advantage of Revis being out was the problem. The O-line gave him great protection for the large majority of the game.

Brady's got a hot ass wife and 2 kids. He's lost the edge he used to have, he's gotten complacent, and unlike earlier in his career where he wouldn't sleep all night after losing games, he'll sleep just fine tonight. He's saying all the right things to the media, but it's obvious he isn't as dedicated as he was back when the team was winning Super Bowls.

DUNCANownsKOBE2
09-19-2010, 08:20 PM
My favorite (not really) play was when Kyle Wilson was guarding Gronk after New England decided to abandon the run. What the fuck is the point in drafting two tight ends if you're not gonna use play action/the running game to get them matchups against linebackers, if the were gonna go empty backfield so much they might as well have drafted Aralius Benn instead of Gronk.

monosylab1k
09-19-2010, 08:23 PM
Brady will never let the team suck. He's not that bad.

They'll go 10-6ish for the next 4 years, maybe win a playoff game, maybe not. That's about it. Then hopefully Brady goes and plays for the 49ers the last year or two of his career and the Patriots can rebuild.

DUNCANownsKOBE2
09-19-2010, 08:27 PM

I feel this is mono's way out of anything. He's hoping the Pats can turn it around and use the anti-jinx card. If not, he can always say he was right. The Pats will at least get to an AFC championship in the next 4 years.

You're overthinking it. Brady looked like he honestly didn't give a shit. It's not about reverse jinxes/being able to say you were right, it's about what was obvious. Here comes a joke about how I'm mimicking mono, but Brady's lack of desire was very apparent during the game.

I remember hearing about how during the off season Peyton analyzed every single snap he took from last season. What he did during the play, what his teammates did, and what the defenders did. He spent hours upon hours upon hours in the film room doing that because he still has that drive to do whatever it takes to win. Tom Brady does not seem like he has that drive anymore. He obviously still wants to win, but I'm not sure if he's willing to sacrifice time with his family to analyze film and pay that much attention to detail like franchise QBs need to do. I'm not saying "TRADE BRADY!!!", he's by far their best available option, but he's no longer a guy who feels like putting a team on his back for an entire season.

the fucking stupid thing is when pat fans and brady knobslobbers sit and say brady is better because he won 3 rings throwing to deion branch and average guys like that. especially when the pats lost a sb and havent done shit with a far better offensive supporting cast than Peyton ever had with guys like moss and welker.

further proof that it takes a TEAM to win a ring, from players to coaches to playcallers. the patiots won those superbowls because they had complete teams, something manning has NEVER had, yet still has his team contending for a title on a yearly basis, winning one, as well as setting records and racking up mvps, and even taking paycuts so the dumbasses in indys management can get him a better team. there is only so much he can do, and for what hes been given, hes done more than perhaps any player has in NFL history for such an extended period of time.

tbh peyton manning won the super bowl by more points than all 3 patriots super bowls combined so clearly he is better than brady. for life. i think its obvious to the world that guys like tom brady, ben roethlisberger and trent dilfer only have rings because they rode the nuts of a swole defense.

The 2006 Colts were a complete team in the playoffs. It's not like Peyton needed to score 40 points in each playoff game for his team to win a superbowl. Both QBs are the same in the sense that they both needed the clutchest kicker in NFL history and big plays from their defense at key times to win superbowls. I'm not saying Manning < Brady, but the revisionist history about how good the Colts D was at key times in 2006 is bullshit. When Peyton couldn't do shit against the Ravens in 2006 he needed his defense and Vinateri to come through. Yeah Brady has yet to take a team with a bad defense and holes at major positions to a superbowl win, and the same thing goes for Peyton.

And if you're gonna give Peyton rave reviews about taking a paycut, lets not forget all the paycuts Brady has taken over the years just so Robert Kraft can cheap out on key players that Brady took a paycut so the Patriots could resign.

further proof that it takes a TEAM to win a ring, from players to coaches to playcallers. the patiots won those superbowls because they had complete teams, something manning has NEVER had, yet still has his team contending for a title on a yearly basis, winning one, as well as setting records and racking up mvps, and even taking paycuts so the dumbasses in indys management can get him a better team. there is only so much he can do, and for what hes been given, hes done more than perhaps any player has in NFL history for such an extended period of time.

How is it that every winning QB on earth has always had the most dominant defense on earth and the greatest supporting cast in NFL history except for Peyton Manning?

How is it that every winning QB on earth has always had the most dominant defense on earth and the greatest supporting cast in NFL history except for Peyton Manning?

way to answer your own question :rolleyes

Peyton has had some good players around him, obviously, which is why they are constantly in contention, but in terms of being a complete team, that is something that the colts have NEVER been, unlike the Patriots, who had a very complete and well rounded team when winning championships.

the Colts have consistently lacked defense, and often lacked either a good ground game, good o-line, or both.

Phillip
09-21-2010, 09:34 AM
And if you're gonna give Peyton rave reviews about taking a paycut, lets not forget all the paycuts Brady has taken over the years just so Robert Kraft can cheap out on key players that Brady took a paycut so the Patriots could resign.

I've always given Brady props for taking paycuts too. That wasn't a slight against Brady, the way you Pat fans tend to take everything. Point was, Peyton can't keep doing it by himself.

Replace Brady with Manning during the Patriots SB run, and they still win at least 3 rings, no question about it.

Steve Kerr

not in 2006 they didn't.

Phillip
09-21-2010, 09:48 AM

And this here exactly proves my point that it takes a team to win championships, and why it's silly for people to say Brady > Manning because he has 3 rings. Manning can only do so much, just like Brady has only been able to do so much.

Both guys have proven they can lead a team to a championship, and can consistently have their team among the league's elite. At this point, I don't think winning should be part of the debate, but rather accomplishments and capabilities. Peyton clearly has more accomplishments, and IMO is a more deadly passer. I don't think there has ever been a QB that makes tough passes look easy, the way Manning does, as he completes them on a regular basis, and that is a big reason why even the most mediocre receivers can go play with Peyton Manning and get 1000 yards. he doesnt need his guys to get much separation to complete passes.

IMO, Manning and Brady are the two best QBs of all time. But Mannings ability to consistently complete tough passes, is what puts him over Brady. While Brady can complete tough passes, he definitely cannot complete them as consistently as Manning does.

Brady's worst playoff game other than Super Bowl 42 is prob that game he lost to the Colts. He wasn't doing jack shit anyway (3 scores before halftime were Corey Dillon running it in, Mankins recovering the fumble in the end zone and Samuel pick-sixing Manning), got chode bloaded into a 3 and out after the Colts scored, got easy field position after the Colts tied and bailed out by video replay and the old forceout rule on a touchdown, could only get his team FGs the rest of the way, nearly picked by Bob Sanders, cost his team the game by throwing to Reche Caldwell in crunch time, and threw a game losing pick.

That game was the death of Brady dominance in big games tbh.

Both have played 18 playoff games

Manning Career Playoff QB Rating - 87.6
Brady Career Playoff QB Rating - 85.5

Manning Stats - 62.9%, 5164 Yards, 28 TD, 19 INT, 7.46 YPA
Brady Stats - 62%, 4108 Yards, 28 TD, 15 INT, 6.45 YPA

Games of QB rating being under 80

Manning - 7
Brady - 8

looks to me that Brady has had more shitty playoff games than Manning. fortunately, he often had a defense that could help him out and prevent the team from losing the game, such as in the two wins against the Chargers, as well as some others, such as against the Titans, and a game against the Colts.

Brady forcing idiotic passes and not being able to take advantage of Revis being out was the problem. The O-line gave him great protection for the large majority of the game. He's lost the edge he used to have, he's gotten complacent, and unlike earlier in his career where he wouldn't sleep all night after losing games, he'll sleep just fine tonight. There was no perfect gameplan or anything, the Giants just became a great team once Shockey was injured and Manning actually got to control the offense, and this is gonna sound dumb, but midway through the season New England stopped being the dominant team it was, we all know they deserved to lose that Baltimore game. Their gameplan was to allow no big plays on defense, minimal blitzing, just getting natural pressure from the D-line (up the middle preferably, since Brady is so good at stepping up from outside rushes), and having great coverage by the LBs and DBs, and to control the clock and hold the ball as long as possible.

Giants would let them have stuff underneath all day, as long as they would keep the YAC to a minimum. Big plays were their #1 focus from what I saw.

As a 3rd back he should be able to provide something Morris and Taylor don't. Kevin Faulk for example provided a great shotgun formation running back for Brady that neither Taylor nor Morris are. If they want a 3rd running back, then cut BJGE and pick up Willie Parker since he atleast gives a speed dimension outa the backfield they don't get from Taylor or Morris.

Willie Parker has fumbling issues and would cost more than BJGE. I believe that as a 3rd back and used properly, I can live with him being on the team

Teams coached by coaches who have adopted loony playcalling where they have random weeks where the #3 back leads the team in carries. Those teams generally live and die by what the #3 running back can do.

If you honestly think this is the last time BB randomly decides to give BJGE 10+ carries then there's no point in arguing.

Probably the reason I don't post stats is because every time I post stats, the argument is "stats don't matter because it's a team sport".

you never posted individual stats that prove Brady is superior to Peyton. unless you are referring to the season in which Brady threw 1 more TD to break Mannings record, despite the fact that he threw almost 100 more passes. and he was only able to stay on pace statistically with Manning for that one year. no other years, has he even came close. and Manning puts up these far superior stats, while only averaging around 1 more pass per game through his career.

in other words, there are no stats that you can provide to prove that he is superior to Peyton. unless as I said before you pull your usual "3 rings" bullshit that provide no proof whatsoever, other than the fact that Brady has had a better team more often than Manning. :rolleyes

Then when I focus on team success, it's "well Peyton just makes tougher throws"

both have had great team success. when Brady and Manning have had complete teams, they have won superbowls. Fortunately for Brady, he has had a complete team more often than Manning, is that not true?

however, I fully expect you to answer that with another question that makes no sense at all, because your brain turns to jizz soup anytime you talk about Tom Brady.

in your world - Brady >>>>>>>>>> Jesus :clap

Then when I show Peyton licking balls on a tough throw, it's "well these stats prove I'm right and if you don't believe me it's because you're being emotional :cry"

right, because one throw suddenly means that he is inferior to another player that he has proven to be superior to in virtually every aspect. a throw that was not neccesarily bad, as opposed to a piss-poorly ran timing route. but for now, lets just say that was a bad pass. since one play that ultimately results in a loss in a big playoff game means you suck, what about this?

absolutely not. they lost because they simply got beat by a better team.

since according to mono's logic, one "bad throw" by Peyton means he licks balls at tough passes (despite a history of making tough passes), then one "bad throw" by Brady means he licks balls in clutch situations (despite a history of coming up in clutch situations)

his logic is bullshit, imo

perhaps you can present an objective viewpoint from a Pat fans perspective, something Mono is clearly unable to do. instead he just gets butthurt over me calling him emotional. perhaps he just should go into his posting history and look at his reaction to the Pats losing, his reaction about Dirk after the Mavs lost to GS (saying the Mavs should trade for KG, LMAO), and a shitload of other dumb knee-jerk shit that he posted. everyone has knee-jerk reactions from time to time, but his seem to happen wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too often

They have both accomplished everything the other guy has done. There is nothing that stands out to me what one did that the other didn't. Peyton has more MVPs because he's always been on teams that need to be carried by the passing game, Brady has won more superbowls because he's been on better defensive teams.

is this really true? after doing some research, I see that for their careers, Manning averages less than 2 more pass attempts per game (i believe it was around 1.25 more). and with the exception of the Corey Dillion era, the Pats have pretty much always had to rely on their passing game.

Manning also had better weapons. Hate on Wayne and Harrison all you want, they are sure as hell are better than Deion Branch and Troy Brown. I don't disagree entirely, although in the time that Brady has had Moss and Welker, he still hasn't really been able to produce monster MVP level stats on a consistent basis, the way Manning has. He had that one year, where he had 1 more TD, and a little more yardage than Mannings best year, but had to throw nearly 100 more passes than Manning in order to do that.

Manning has also consistently been good, despite having several different head coaches, none of which are NEAR the level of Bill Bellichick. I think Bill's system is a big reason why the Pats offense was able to be so efficient, despite not having weapons quite like Wayne or Harrison. Those SB patriots passing systems were just so tough to stop because of such perfect gameplanning and playcalling. Brady most definitely benefitted from a great offensive system earlier in his career, just the way Manning benefitted from having weapons.

Welker was absolutely nothing before Brady so don't list him like he's a receiving target every QB would be successful with. Brady also had 2 less interceptions, a higher completiton %, and no running back like Edgerrin James who took pressure off the passing game.

I'm not tearing Brady down at all. I'm saying that he benefitted from a good system and good playcalling, much like Manning benefitted from good weapons. Good coaching can make mediocre weapons appear solid, and vice versa, good weapons, can make mediocre coaching appear solid. Both guys had their share of benefits on the offensive end.
