We have not seen anything on the offensive end from him though, but that is expected early on.

Sean made a good point. Splitter and Neal are not typical rookies who are going to get timid. They're seasoned players who are learning to adjust to the NBA.

that wasn't a foul though....
Well it was whistled a foul.
My point is that he's moving his feet better than any legit bigman we've had in ages. If he can master the steep learning curve of the NBA quickly, then our defense will be the best it's been in a few years.

RJ playing great. Surprise has been Gary Neal who has been lighting things up.
Timmy started off really slowly but has picked up. I'm not worried about him.
Splitter hasn't gotten touches on the offensive end but he's hustling his ass off on the defensive end. He had one move in the post that looked good, though he did miss (barely). Decent footwork. Not enough to tell yet.

Duncan actually got a rebound that he had to jump over someone to get! And he finished, nice to see. Duncan's had a really solid game, his shot's been a little off, but he's better finishing under the basket and his legs look to be under him when he's rebounding. I can say similar things about Ginobili, solid game, he's finding people open, having a tough time shooting from outside, but he's doing a good job scoring.

Blair starting to give a little more effort, even though he's having another tough night. James Anderson is more athletic than people gave him credit for and that was a great finish. I've seen Blake Griffin back down Tim and score a couple of times tonight and it looks like Tim is playing fine D on him, he's just that good. A lot of potential there with Griffin. I like the kid.
Richard Jefferson's doing a great job. I love seeing hard work pay off and that's what it's doing about RJ. We've said what we wanted in the past when he played poorly, but the work he put in this offseason says a lot about Jefferson as a person.

I also want to point out that James Anderson has a lot more defensive potential than I thought this offseason when we drafted him and I started to research his college career. I thought he was going to be a lights out scorer, better than anybody's giving him credit for, so far I've been pleased with what I've seen there. But what's really surprised me is his defense. If you want proof that he's a really good athlete, just look to his shot block ability's, their big man-esque. He's the last guy I've seen on this team since Bowen out there blocking jump shots.
