Can the Spurs step on the Suns' throat? With a win tonight, they'll put the Suns in a huge hole.

Do you think the Spurs will go up 2-0 or will PHX come back and tie the series?

Discuss.

The Spurs will pull this one out not by much 4 or 5 points. either Spurs 100 Suns 95 or. Spurs 95 Suns 90. If we get nash on the pick and roll Parker should come out on top. I feel Parker and Bowen should have a big game tonight, hopefully besides Duncan and Manu. Nazi will get his rebounds and some points as well, The bench will also put up theirs Horry and crew. Does anyone know how much the bench scored that night on the win.

Thank You Sir, and there it is the key to victory, and also is the transition D, which both coaches are talking about all the time, which will be interesting to see tonight. Keep your eye out for that and last but not least the points from the bench which in this case is a difference of 18 points from the bench! Spurs will win tonight. 2-0 Spurs.

I'm glad this thread is started. I get antsy waiting for the games to start... this gives me a healthy outlet!

I'm sticking with my original prediction of a Spurs sweep. I won't be surprised if it's a squeaker, but we're going up 2-0 tonight.

Hopefully they fight human nature and don't let down. I know I have less anxiety than game one, or Seattle game 6. I doubt that Nash will get as many 14 foot uncontested shots tonight, at least I hope so. Marion will be out to prove something so that may take away from their natural flow. If the Spurs can hit open shots, because there will be plenty to take, they will win this game going away.

If Spurs don't win this game it will be only by Spurs fault. Suns have nothing with this, it's just in ours guys heads. If plenty of open shots won't fall or if Spurs will play sloppy then MAYBE Suns have more than 50% chance to win.

the Spurs beat themselves.

The inferior Suns' presence is only pro forma.

Jimcs50

Hope so, I think Phoenix can win at least once in SA.

The Spurs have been lucky so far getting opponents that were missing key players. The Spurs have to take advantage while JJ is out and win tonight.

Pop needs to remind the players that they need to dance with the one that brought them to this position, and that is to play defense first, and run and gun only if the opportunity presents itself.

Get back on D, even after made baskets, do not get lazy, take care of the ball, and double Nash whenever you can.

Jimcs50
05-24-2005, 04:19 PM
Will Barry get open looks?

I say yes.

The Suns can not change their modus opporandi over night.

They want to outscore the Spurs more than they want to make stops.

All 4 teams still alive have played opponents w/key players missing. Except for Heat, but they played the Nets/Wizards :rolleyes

So I don't think the Spurs have been particularly lucky.

The Suns have responded well to pressure so far in the playoffs (tied 1-1 and 2-2 in the Mavs series), but I'd have to think that there is a little more of it tonight. If the Spurs can bring their A defense tonight, the Suns will succumb to the pressure.

The point is that they were out for the playoffs. Van Horn was "supposed" to be the most important guy off the bench along w/Stackhouse for Dallas.

WTF is wrong with you?

Why are you freaking out? Relax. When there's four defenders standing under the basket, there's bound to be a wide open shooter somewhere. But in that situation Nazr tries to stuff it instead of kicking it out, and he winds up having the ball stuffed back in his face. That's happened what; two, three times already this game? I'm not saying he needs to have more assists then Nash, I'm saying he should be smart and realize when he's over-matched. Instead of those couple of blocks, the Spurs could have had a couple more threes. No need to freak out dude, seriously.

Suns had 13-0 and 8-0 runs in the 2nd quarter; Nash is 8 of 9 from the field; we have no answer for Amare; we trail by 1 at the half, on the road.

Not bad.

Duncan made a big mistake getting that 3rd fould at the end of the 2nd Q.

What is so hard about controlling nash?

Nash is the key of every single point scored by phoenix, all he does is play ring-around-the-motherfucking-rosie with his teammates and draws all 5 spurs on him....leaving amare open for a dunk, or jackson open for a 3.

Stupid play by Timmy to get 3rd foul w/ 1.2 seconds left, even more stupid of a move by Pop to have Timmy in, in the last seconds. BUT Tim has got to be smart and just let Q get that board!! Let him try and make a 3/4 court shot instead of giving him FT's and pickin up PF #3!!!

Yeah, I still don't get how teams can fall for Nash's little circle move, you'd think at some point someone would have the brilliant idea of putting a body in his path and making him actually do something with the ball instead of everyone chasing him around in circles like it's a Three Stooges short. Nash is quick, but it can't be that hard to disrupt him when he circling 'round the Maypole (ALVAREZ6 already took Ring around the Rosie). :)

ALVAREZ6

There's no way to stop Nash from dribbling wherever he wants but you have to choose, do you leave him an open jump shot or do you double and let him pass to an open guy. Spurs are correct to let Nash have his shot rather than getting other guys off.

These things just keep getting posted earlier and earlier, I think the next one will be posted right after tonight game....

What is up with the European defense? Both Tony and Beno are playing him at 50% of trying to turn him into his "off" hand. This has not worked. It did not work in game one and it has not worked in game 2. The number one rule of defense is to keep the person you are guarding directly in front of you. How many assitsts is Steve going to have when Tony and Beno play that "European" defense and let Steve into the paint so he can pass off to Amaire or Shawn?

And where is Bruce? The media is quick to point out that Shawn did not have a great game in game 1. Did anyone hear that it was Bruce who limited him to the bad game? No.... No one gave Bruce any credit. Understandbly so, it was not Bruce's defense that stiffled him, but Shawn's own poor shooting and the lack of confidence that the Suns had in him that game. Is Shawn having a bad game now? No..... Did Bruce pick it up? No...... Bruce needs to concentrate on making 3's, what he was brought in for and quite trying to take it to the hole like he has been trying too. This is not his game. Helllllloooooooo??????
