Expect a tornado watch to go up pretty soon. Worst time for these things to come through, at night when everyone is asleep. I love storms so I may wait up for them.

Johnny, I'd put that bad boy in the garage if I were you. The main threat around here is probably going to be some strong straight line winds (non tornado winds) and that can kick up all kinds of shit. There will be hail, but I don't think it'll be more than marble size. But, if you've ever heard marble size hail hit cars, you don't want to chance that either.
Put it in dude, put it in.
AHF, the shit you're getting in Dallas won't be as bad as what is coming down here. Just a bunch lightning and what not.
The storms coming down here are mean fuckers. I'd just go to sleep - living in SA for 20+ years get syou a shitload of late night storms - but these actualy look worth staying up for.

The storms coming down here are labled with TVS, which means tornado vortex signature. Basically, that means there is rotation within the storm. And well, enough roatation and next thing you know you have a Palm Harbor home flying around with some cows.

Manny,
I've only been in Dallas for two months, but there's one thing I've learned about the weather:
Even if it's just a "strong" thunderstorm, not even severe, we get hail with it. Thank God for covered parking, I don't see how people here can go without it.

That's crazy shit, but I guess it makes sense that the air is colder further north.
The biggest hail I ever saw fell at my Grandparents house in Weslaco, TX, down in the valley near Mcallen. Fucking hail was SOFTBALL sized!!!!!!
You do not want to see what hail that size does to things, it's fucking nuts. Needless to say, I learned how to put a new roof on a house shortly after that. :lol

If any of you live out in that area, I reallywoulnd't fuck around if you hear a loud roar. The radar has been indicating a tornado consistently, so even if it's not staying on the ground, it's probably at least dropping down and coming back up. It's nighttime so you can't really get a visual conformation, so this is as good as it's going to get, but I'd say it's for real.

You don't as much hear a loud roar. It's more like a low pitched rumble that you can feel. If you've ever heard a tornado it is a sound that will be stuck in your head for the rest of your life.
They say it's like a freight train, but not so much. Our warehouse in Del Rio is just across 90 from the train tracks and they run through there about 60 MPH (I guess to keep aliens from hopping on) and it isn't the same sound. It's vaguely similar, but not exactly.

the other gets spooked and wakes my ass up at 330...i'm thinking she needs to goto the bathroom...which is another pet peeve...but she just wants to go outside to check it out...and she sees the lightning and ran her ass back inside...and then onto the bed...between me and wifey....all night long....i almost kissed the bitch goodbye this morning.... :smokin

Yeah, Momma Cat doesn't usually stay on the bed all night, but she was either at the foot or on the pillows all night awake with her eyes all big. Of course, once the rain was over she went right back to being her normal psycho self making tons of noise. I almost prefer the quiet/spooked. :lol

Haha, that reminds me of my old dog. She was not very tall, but she weighed 140 pounds (looked like a small bear with her long black hair). She would freak during a thunderstorm. Well, one night I forgot to lock the back door, and when the thunderstorm hit around two in the morning, she pushed the back door open (the door was a little messed up). Apparently, she made enough noise to awaken my roommate. He thought someone was breaking into the house, so he grabs a baseball hat and slowly walks down the hall. ......It scared the shit out of him when he got a wet dog nose pressed on his hamstring, which in turn scared the shit out of the dog. She ran into his bathroom and jumped into the bath tub. Somehow, he managed to hoist 140 pounds of frightened dog out of the tub and put her back outside.
Meanwhile, I slept through the entire incident.
