i love storms too, and hope they arrive before i go to sleep.
Expect a tornado watch to go up pretty soon. Worst time for these things to come through, at night when everyone is asleep. I love storms so I may wait up for them.
i love storms too, and hope they arrive before i go to sleep.
Getting rid of you in the process I hope.
Did Chief Meter-ologist Jennifer Broome nail this with her 4-Warn Doppler?
Dude, it's like daylight here in Dallas, and the storms are still 15 miles away. *gulp*
Is there going to be any hail with this storm? if so I'm putting the car in the garage.
Did Jennifer Broome pull out her doppler again??????
Yessss!!! These past few days with the lightning and the thunderstorms at night have been great, I love falling asleep to it!
Johnny, I'd put that bad boy in the garage if I were you. The main threat around here is probably going to be some strong straight line winds (non tornado winds) and that can kick up all kinds of . There will be hail, but I don't think it'll be more than marble size. But, if you've ever heard marble size hail hit cars, you don't want to chance that either.
Put it in dude, put it in.
AHF, the you're getting in Dallas won't be as bad as what is coming down here. Just a bunch lightning and what not.
The storms coming down here are mean ers. I'd just go to sleep - living in SA for 20+ years get syou a load of late night storms - but these actualy look worth staying up for.
Dude, last time I listened to Manny about weather, I lost $25 betting where that hurricane would hit.
The storms coming down here are labled with TVS, which means tornado vortex signature. Basically, that means there is rotation within the storm. And well, enough roatation and next thing you know you have a Palm Harbor home flying around with some cows.
I thought I got that right???
I know I got the snow wrong at first, then right, then wrong, then right.![]()
Manny,
I've only been in Dallas for two months, but there's one thing I've learned about the weather:
Even if it's just a "strong" thunderstorm, not even severe, we get hail with it. Thank God for covered parking, I don't see how people here can go without it.
Just to be on the safe side I'm bringig it in now.
All those hail highlights on that last radar pic was enough to convince me!
That's crazy , but I guess it makes sense that the air is colder further north.
The biggest hail I ever saw fell at my Grandparents house in Weslaco, TX, down in the valley near Mcallen. ing hail was SOFTBALL sized!!!!!!
You do not want to see what hail that size does to things, it's ing nuts. Needless to say, I learned how to put a new roof on a house shortly after that.![]()
f*ck!
West side of Ft. Worth is getting baseball sized hail.
War covered parking.
Maybe you will get a chance to see what softball sized hail does to things. Be safe dude, getting hit with one of those will set you in a casket in no time.
Oh the with that, I am going to be far away from the windows here in a few minutes.
If I wanted to see what that felt like, I'd find someone to hit me in the head with a sledgehammer. No thanks.
yea..I'm working right now so it should be fun....as long as I don't get into another accident.
*knocks on wood*

I was wonder why they didn't issue a tornado watch when these storms had tornadic history, but whatever it's the middle of the night and no one can tell. Either way, there's a hook echo in one of those storms. That's not something you around with.
