That was against Miami.

Beginning of the end, tbh. That was the high-water mark of the Spurs peak for the season.

After "Game Over", Spurs went on to lose solidly to the Lakers, and soon thereafter had the favor returned by Miami. Things just unraveled from there.

With white boy on this team, we ain't winning shit.

Hell, without white boy we're probably fucked... but with white boy, there is no question that this team ain't going anywhere.

That was the last time our team looked like contenders.

Then the Lakers came into town and raped us. Pop messed with the starting lineup. Timmy got hurt. The 6 game losing streak began. Manu started getting hurt. First round exit. It all happened so fast. :depressed

He did hit back to back 3s in game 1 against Mamphis.

By all means, make him the franchise player!

Yup he gave us a chance to win. What was it? A four point lead with about a minute and a half? That is all you can ask for from a role player. Neal did us the favor in Game 5.

Yes, white boys will be the end of it. :rolleyes

He did just about as much or little as everyone else. Why aren't you blaming Tony, Tim and the other guys for that matter ? Tim was decrepit and Tony underachieved. Manu was injured and was still our best player.

Nah, I'm through blaming Bonner for all our problems. He was the least of them. He led the league in 3 point shooting and did fine during the playoffs.

2011 Spurs = 2005 Suns

Lot of offense, 60+ wins season, and lack of D in the playoffs

What was our record with Blair in the starting lineup vs. when Pop decided to put McDyess in the starting lineup?

THAT, plus the fact :bang Pop didn't play Splitter enough, when healthy, to get him ready for the playoffs. Damn, they knew we were going to need Splitter in the playoffs vs. the Lakers. Should have figured we'd need him vs. either Memphis or Portland.

Unless a couple of (young) FA superstars :greedy w/o egos want to come to S.A., :depressed I'm getting used to the idea that Holt will sell out while the gettin's good. I fully expect the Spurs to be gone in less than 5 yrs.

Well, it was a nice run while it lasted. Too bad we didn't have an ownership group with deeper pockets -- the Robinson-Duncan era could have easily had 3+ more :lobt2:

Hmmm....the Las Vegas Spurs has a decent ring to it, don'tcha think?

White boy got his ass raped on defense each second he was on the floor.

That's just it...the whole team got punked. Shane Battier punked Manu, Conley punked Parker. The Spurs got outplayed.

Our rebounding was fine and the defense was ok too for the most part. They held us to 9 fewer points per game than our regular season average while we held them to a basket less.

The difference was their defense was better than ours. The ball was flying all over the place and we turned the ball over with dumb mistakes.

Bonner has lots of issues of his own, but he was not the reason we lost to Memphis. RJ just plain sucked most of the year so his disappearing act wasn't anything new. I was most disappointed by Tony and Tim. I expected them to raise their level of play but they were awful. Manu had terrible turnovers but missed game 1. He gets a pass with me. As bad as we were, he managed to be the leading scorer for the Spurs.

I can never understand why one single role player is responsible for the Spurs collapse. What does people expect Bonner to do in the playoffs anyways? Hit 4 threes a game, grab rebounds and defend like Hakeem Olajuwon?

The Spurs were constructed as a flawed team, that was it.

Thats true, but he gets too many minutes for a guy who does not DO ANY OF THOSE in the playoffs. He doesn't even defend like Shawn Bradley out there, nevermind HAKEEM LOL. I expect him to do something in the playoffs, instead we get a load of NOTHING and a waste of space out there giving up points to bigs.

I knew it was not, told friends spite the great record we had that the flaws will show more during playoff time. Lack of interior D was there most of the year, jump shots did not fall they lost! That formula is not built for the playoffs, 62 wins like the Suns used to do and flame out! Thats what happened.
