I think Bradley will employ this lineup though

Adu absolutely deserves more callups. Everyone forgets he's only 21. Dude can be very good for us in the future.

I don't think Bradley's job is in jepeoardy but it has to be noted that his choice to bring 3 strikers - one of who was Wondo - was fucking terrible.

Bradley has had a decent Gold Cup overall. It has to be said. His Adu insertion took balls and it worked brilliantly. However, USA needs to experiment with a foreign coach who can actually properly utilize all of our great technical players.

The future is not so bleak. Holden and Chandler will get back in the mix. That back four needs some improvement....the forwards are less of an issue but still a big problem. Jozy is still the best US has....upgrades are needed.

We have to look for the next Rossi's or Subotic's or Ibisevic's that will don the red white and blue. USA needs more world class talent.

Congrats Mexico. The better team won

US back line is atrocious. Cherundolo leaving was tough, but I doubt it would have translated to a different score had he not been hurt. Every time the ball came near Goodson I would cringe. Also, distribution from the back continues to be terrible. US has to find somebody to put back there that is capable of making smart decisions and is willing to keep the ball on the fucking ground. Yeah, it's hard when there's so little cohesion on the back line, but strides must be made if they are to improve their possession. Finally, they really need to learn how to run an effective offside trap. Garbage...

When is the US going to figure out how to move off the ball? They only have a few guys who seem to have a sense for that. It could be due to Bob playing so many different guys, but it's still tough to watch when somebody is on the ball and all you see around him are people loafing and watching. US will never be dynamic until they have a front 6 that is committed to getting into space and creating opportunities. (look at Mexico, they excel in that regard)

I'd also like to see the US have a better strategy in terms of putting pressure on opposing defenders. Lag to the half-line and watch seems to be the current thinking, which leads to a bunch of extra possession for the opposing side.

Adu was great, he's really in command when he has the ball on his feet. He can be a difference maker, let's hope he gets more caps. One of the few US players that isn't afraid to attack defenders head-on, which frees space for everyone else. imo, he'd be much more effective in the middle. He could become world-class if he can up his work-rate and not have as many mental lapses. Still, seeing his performance in this game really gives me some hope for the future.

Mexico on the attack is a beautiful thing to watch, Dos Santos and Barrera are MEN. Also, props to Chicharito for not touching that ball just to get credit for the goal. Team first. Some legit great goals from the mexican side. That chip was fuckin' sick.

Mexico's back line has issues too, but they'll always be in games due to their offensive prowess. I would think they have a real chance in the confed cup.

Glad there weren't issues with the officiating.

Mexico, despite the two U.S. goals dominated the entire game.. It was only a matter of time before they would've made their run... they did it throughout the Cup..

It's ridiculous to think anyone in the defense would've stopped Mexico's forwards yesterday.. Even with Dolo, Mexico should have scored.. multiple times..

If the score didn't get any worse for the USA, it was mostly because Mexico failed to capitalize on many of their chances.

People are dicks on both sides of this fucking rivalry. I am actually a fan of Mexico anytime they are not playing the US. I can understand why people pick Mexico over the US.

Much like I'm a fan of the US NT when they're not playing Mexico...

Earlier, I was going to mention that this was probably a reason why you didn't like Gio Dos Santos (or at best, considered him an average talent)... because his dad is Brazilian... :lol

Your Argentinean blood sensed his 'Jogo bonito' roots... :downspin:

Other than injuries the only reason he's failed to "stick" on a premier club is because of his off-field partying antics...

Tottenham Hotspurs coach Harry Redknapp had nothing but praise for Dos Santos' talent... unfortunately, he also dished out some contempt for his 'clubbing ways' (completely merited btw)...

Hopefully for his career Giovanni can wise-up and mature as a person... only then will he be able to enter the elite ranks of the world's best players... IMO, as of today Dos Santos is definitely a Top-100 talent (while elite players are Top-10 talents)...

I know he's not good enough to stick in Barcelona (no shame there), not good enough to stick in Tottenham (:lol), and can't even start in his middle of the road Spanish team (:lmao).

But yeah, clearly I don't know enough about the guy, so I'll be quiet now :lol

Not only did he start for Racing he also saved them from relegation and was an immediate impact player. Racing tried to keep him but they can't afford him. 5 goals in 9 starts pretty damn average. :lol

I personally don't like his attitude and arrogance, IN THE PITCH. He's always bitching, pushing people around, and pretty much acting like a prima donna.

While guys like Cristiano Ronaldo act very much the same, at least CR has the game to back it up.

As far as Brazil goes, it doesn't matter in this case as he plays for Mexico. And there are some brazilian players I have a lot of respect for (Even though I don't necessarily root for them :lol). Like Luisao or J Baptista.

Or you could say 5 goals in 16 games, which would be pretty average too :lol

Maybe 14 games in Galatasaray with no goals? How about 10 games with the Spurs and no goals? Or 28 games with Barcelona and 3 goals? :lol

So far his best showing is 4 goals in 8 games for Ipswich Town... you just have to wonder why he can't stick to any one team...

And why couldnt he stick with those teams? Maybe because Harry wants 8 million for him? :lol

Is he? honest question. I mostly see him play in Mexico, and he plays as a winger/second forward...

I'll never understand how someone, who has benefited from the U.S. system, doesn't root for the U.S. over their ancestral country. I still have family living in Germany and while I hope they do well, never ever would I root for them over my own country.

I'll never understand how US fans can root for players like Adu or Agudelo who weren't born in the US yet still play for their team. Disgusting really.

we take these beaners in and give them good jobs, such as cleaning our toilets for a living, and this is how they repay us?

You got me. People who use America for jobs, a better life, and an environment that doesn't have a 50% chance of being overrun by drug cartels should cheer for America. If Mexico was so much better than America, the Mexican soccer fans in America would live there.

Not that disimilar to the all-mighty Messi [not mocking him as Leo is my favorite player and possibly will be the greatest ever when it's all said and done]... and really just for the sake of validating your argument that 11 goals in 45 NT caps somehow minimizes Dos Santos as a NT player...

Lionel Messi:
56 NT caps with Argentina, 17 goals...

extrapolating Dos Santos' 45 caps to 56 caps, puts him at 13.7 goals...

And how's this for kicks... again, just for number's sake...

Javier "Chicharito" Hernández:
29 NT caps with Mexico (late start with the NT, here only recently in Sept. 2009), 21 goals...

extrapolating Hernández's 29 caps to 56 caps, puts him at 40.6 goals... :wow
