I don't know why Wash didn't. It's not as if that Punto hit was Colby's fault. Mike fucked him out of a 3rd out.

And now Ogando is going to be out of the game...no way we let him hit.

A Tigers/Cards rematch of 2006 would have been so much better than this series. The Rangers have no business being on the biggest stage of them all. Their nuts shrink, and they can't handle the pressure. It is so evident. Oh, but at least they made the world series. :lol

Amazing. fucking. game.

I don't think I've ever been so anxious in a baseball game in my entire (albeit short) baseball-fan life. 9th inning was prolly the most solid ball-playing I've seen since Cully followed up 'luva's last post w/ a dozen or so "lol emotes."

Ranger, after Pujols lollygagging error allowed the runner to second base (runners now on 2nd and third), were you surprised LaChoka pitched to injured Hamilton and Young instead of walking one of them (thus setting up forces all around and double play chance) and getting slumping Beltre to the plate?

Maybe you have to pitch to Hamilton, as walking him puts the Rangers best hitter up in Young with the bases loaded only one out. But after Hamiltons sac fly made it 1-1, to me i walk Young and get to Beltre with a force at any bag. Beltre hits the same ball (speculative i know) and it's a double play.

We just saw Leyland go full retard and pitch to Young instead of Beltre and that also was a key in one of Ranger Ricks wins vs Detroit.

Walking Josh would've loaded the bases w/ NO outs.

There's no way you walk Hamilton. That would've been a Multiscioscia move. I agree with what everybody on BBT is saying. LaRussa should've just left Motte in because he likely would've struck Hamilton out or got him to hit a weak grounder.

Rhodes is garbage and hitting a deep fly ball off him is like taking candy from a baby

Still don't understand Wash's moves in this game...for the 2nd one in a row. From his pinch-hitting to his Ogando/Craig rematch to xemurd's beaten-horse point about refusing to move Josh down in the lineup.

He's lucky as FUCK over-coaching didn't cost TEX this game. In fact, it took his reg rotation players simply playing THEIR GAME to eek out this fucking W at the end, DESPITE him.

What's more impressive the Mavs coming back from being down 15 with like 6 minutes to beat the Heat in game 2 or the Rangers tonight?

I was shocked tonight. I figured going into the top of the 9th that it was looking like it might be over for the Rangers. I can't believe they won. Harrison has got to step up for game 3. And the Rangers' offense has to wake up in Arlington.

It's more or less the same kind of victory. The Heat and Cards blew the lead late in the game and totally collapsed in the end. Rangers head home just like the Mavs with tons of confidence and all the momentum. Amazing game, I want to watch it again already.

Axe Murderer

I would still say the Mavs easily.

Kins and Andrus did the hard work and then LaRussa handed the Rangers the game by bringing in MultiRhodes

Kirk Nowitzki
10-21-2011, 12:26 AM
Idk when games get really tense and I'm freaking out over how slow time is going buy, I start pacing in front of the TV. Both the Mavs and the Rangers Game 2's made me do this. I'd agree the Mavs win is more epic because Dirk was just like, "OK fuck this, we're gonna win this shit" and they went out there and took that fucking game man. Rangers got a little help via LaRussa overmanaging.

Kirk Nowitzki
10-21-2011, 12:29 AM

Duly noted.
Wow that Pujols slacker was enormous.

And Axe i agree leave Motte in.

Fpoon, what are your thoughts on Hamilton?

tbh i'd feel like an asshole to still preach on about sitting him but then again making solid contact off of Arthur Rhodes is so easy even Fabbs could do it.

of course we all know he's gonna play anyway, so i guess it doesn't really matter

Chris
10-21-2011, 11:54 AM
Hamilton should be DH'ing or not in the lineup at all right now. Murphy can
play LF and Gentry/Chavez can play CF. Ideally this should have been utilized
for the first 2 games since Hamilton could have potentially pinch hit for the
pitchers in the later innings. According to Wash he's going to field the group
that brought him to the dance come hell or highwater, so I doubt we'll be seeing
anything different regarding the lineup in the next few games.

Fpoonsie

Pretty much what Chris said, actually. I don't know why they can't move Josh down in the linuep, move Cruz up (I think you may have suggested that last night, too), and move either Gentry or Murph into the outfield, w/ Josh solely playing a DH role (until this happens to get back to St Louis).

On Diamond Talk last night, however, they mentioned that if Josh was GOING to be moved down in the order, Wash would've done it last night. He could still very well be taken out of the outfield, but the lineup seems to be set.

In the end, though, it's not as if the Rangers' bats (outside of Kinz) have necessarily been lighting it up in the Series, so even with Cruz's heroics up until this point, there may not be MUCH reason to.

Dallas fans and ownership have the biggest case of penis envy for the Spurs franchise. Every timeout, there is a "Mom, don't let your babies grow up to be Spurs fans." video or some gay ass video with Ginobili wearing tights dancing. Hell, even before the game, the gay ass MC went back into the locker room and was talking to Bass and flopped onto the ground trying to "prepare Bass for Ginobili". It's pretty pathetic, but hilarious that they have that much envy of the Spurs.

Texas got almost all the breaks in the ALCS and right now the tables have turned on them. Those are the breaks..

Pitching is still shaky and since Cruz has cooled down, their offense has been MIA

Breaks? Seriously? Did you miss that foul off Beltre's foot in Game 1 in the 9th that they called fair? And this isn't someone getting a "break." This is someone getting screwed. That was a horrrible call.

Pussy play by Card 3b Freeze to not get in front of Youngs **double**.
Not saying he should have caught the ball -it was hot one hopper that took weird hop- but he completely pussed out on getting his body in front of it to deflect the ball and keep it in the infield. Instead tried some fancy backhand and gave up on bodying the ball.

1st and 3rd no out you smother/deflect that ball and its bases loaded no outs but no runs scored.

Pathetic. Losing to a fluke NL wild card team and getting fucked by the umpires. What a joke. Sad. Well, all the Rangers can do is try to win game 4. If they lose game 4 then this shit is over. But like I said, this is really sad and somewhat pathetic. They are playing a team that shouldn't have even been in the playoffs and losing to them. No excuses.

Agreed. And if you're already going to sacrifice offense for defense w/ a relatively sure-handed Mitch at first, if avoiding having to do that a second time in the lineup is a possibility, you mos def leave Nap in at catcher and keep Young as your DH.

They've shown they can get hits off Carp, and IN St. Louis, no less. Need to give CJ some run support EARLY (none of that 1-0 lead for 4 or 5 innings nonsense), and, likewise, CJ needs to show SOME of the stuff that earned him a somewhat hastily-given "Ace" status...for fucking once.

Not sure how he got Ace status, though I think starting him in Game 1 was a good idea, because it doesn't put him on in Game 6 or 7. He absolutely needs to pitch like he did in the playoffs last year. If he loses tonight, he'll be the first pitcher in baseball history to go 0-4 in the playoffs.
