Did she say she has a 13 year old son?
July 1997?
You know, her story is something bad for Cain being married, but even by her statement, he never pushed. She needed a job, was going there to ask him a favor, and booked a hotel room to meet him... maybe she intentionally or accidentally lead him on... That's assuming her story is even true.
Is Cain being swift boated?
Again, we really don't know the truth. Unless something factual comes out worse than this, at worse, this is and attempt to cheat on his wife.

My example compares with that those stories sounded so real at the time, but were later shown they were very unlikely true. These stories are starting to sound real, but what if they aren't?
The law requires benefit of doubt before being judged guilty. Now that doesn't apply to our opinions, but wouldn't we be better people if we tried to live that way?

The fourth woman essentially accuses Cain of unwanted sexual contact. It's the most serious of the allegations so far.

Unwanted sexual contact is misdemeanor-level sexual assault, a much worse charge than sexual harassment, which is usually a civil matter.

OK, I can accept some of that. However, let your bias go for a minute, and think outside the box, of the "what ifs."
One example.
What if these two had an affair some time earlier. Maybe moths ago, maybe years. What if they already knew each other intimately in the past. Maybe, from how she describes the events, Cain heard:
1) I'm coming to see you.
2) I have a hotel at the Hilton.
3) Where do you want to meet?
Now Cain upgrades the room, expecting a sexual encounter. Wines and dines her, then parks to make sure if he's wrong, he doesn't make a scene in public.
Do you think this is plausible?
Wild Cobra

As for an alleged misdemeanor...
Cain caught Jaywalking... News at 11...
Equal by law, right? If a candidate ever was ticketed for jaywalking, should that be the end of his candicy?
Also, back to 1997, what ever law you find today, was it even such a law, or viewed the same in 1997?

Kind of depends on the misdemeanor, doesn't it? Assault Causing Bodily Injury with family violence designations and DWI 2nd's are also misdemeanors, both of which would give me pause if they were on a candidate's record, even an arrest.
I will say I have difficulty seeing any kind of "sexual assault" based on what's been rumored. At most, simple assault in the form of unwanted advances causing reasonable apprehension.

Let me add a few more likely "what if" scenarios:
1. What if she dressed like a whore, and Cain expected her to be open for service?
2. What if she exhibited the symptoms of a typical nymphomaniac, and Cain expected her to be in the mood?
3. What if she looked like the type of woman whose preferred form of greeting a man was to kneel and press her mouth against his genitals, and Cain expected to be greeted in this way?
I think you should email these brilliant suggestions to Cain. I can see the Tea Party buying all of those explanations.

Here we go again! :downspin:
WASHINGTON (AP) — In an explosive allegation, a Georgia woman said Monday she and Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain had a 13-year extramarital affair that lasted nearly until the former businessman announced his candidacy for the White House several months ago.
"Here we go again. I didn't do anything wrong," Cain said in a pre-emptive denial that lumped a detailed claim of a consensual affair in with earlier allegations of sexual harassment.
But the woman, Ginger White, said in an interview with Fox 5 Atlanta that over the years, Cain bought her airplane tickets so she could join him in cities as far-flung as Palm Springs, Calif., and Atlanta.
"It was fun," the 46-year-old White said. "It was something that took me away from my humdrum life at the time. And it was exciting."

That's faster than even I thought. If you saw the interview with his wife she didn't seem like a woman standing by her two timin man. Rather a woman who truely believed in her husband. By now she's got to be realizing it's all been a lie...and that's a really dangerous woman. She'll be the one that's makes him end his campaign.

"Not as long as my wife is behind me and as long as my wife believes I should stay in this race," he said.
It won't be long Herman.

Cain's lawyer, Lin Wood, said the allegation "appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults - a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public."
Oops, we're not allowed to talk about it. :depressed
