Somebody check my observations about TParker.

He's moving slow and reacting slow. westbrook blows past him like he is glued to the floor. On some pick and rolls, when our big switches (Bonner was good example three times) Parker simply ignored their big man and left him alone to move to the basket. I think Bonner looked bad a couple of times when he was simply trying to recover from a busted switch where Parker got lazy.

Amuseddaysleeper

I wanna see way more Splitter in the second half, and not one minute of Bonner.

I noticed that too, but thought that Parker wasn't supposed to rotate in those cases. It only happens on screens when he's defending alongside Bonner.

We have to go back to playing from the post outward. Duncan's game doesn't take athleticism. He just needs to be decisive and confident and attack early in the shot-clock. This perimeter dancing shit isn't going to do us any good.

Also, our coaching sucks. We need a new offense badly.

Not that any of this matters. We lack leadership and we're still mentally soft. We're gonna be a sucky road team just like last year.

May as well tank it and get a lotto pick.

You saying TP is losing a step is very different from what he said about TD.

We could get into the age discussion and then we could talk about player shape due to the lockout. But I feel like you're smart enough to know the difference between the stages they are at in their respective careers.

There's a difference. Tim has been declining for several seasons and Tony has not. Tony looked very good this past summer, Tim rested. Tim is far older than Tony and Tim has looked FAR worse in his 2 terrible games this season than Tony has.

But yes, other than those differences its exactly the same. Point taken.

No.. it takes tons of athleticism, just the not the kind thats commonly associated with the NBA (leaping ability, high flier.)

To play in the post you need tons of quickness, strength, and elevation. All of those fall under athleticism. Duncans lost a lot of quickness and elevation (a lot of his older moves relied on quickness) and hes lost a lot of strength due to his weight cutting.

I'm leaning towards tanking but I'm not happy or sad about this game. We're coming off a back to back so it's not a big surprise that we might lose this game. No. Absolutely not. Tim's decline in FG% and Tony's are equally as bad and TP has looked every bit as bad as Tim. In fact, Tim has had more good games than TP. Whether or not Tim has been declining for several seasons doesn't take away from how TP looks and my observation that you tried to poke at even though I provided evidence to support my claims at this point in the season.

Player shape due to the lockout is irrelevant. Every player had the same lockout and abbreviated training camp and TP should be in better shape than most due to him playing overseas.

You would like to see the Spurs show more control in these kind of games. It seems like they've had a tendency to get blown out in these types of games the past few years. You need to have resiliency to come from behind and play and win a game where you're losing by 20. It builds mental toughness. Unfortunately Pop likes to give up these types of games and then wonders why their mental midgets and missing the toughness. It's not just about shots going in or not going in but it's about finding a way to persevere even when shots are not falling.

He needs to find his mojo offensively. Whether that means only using him in PnR situations or him developing a much more robust and confident post game. Right now hes kind of an offensive liability - although to be far hes flashed some offensive potential. So maybe he just needs more confidence and experience.
