I'll take a 3 point lead at the half. Green should've gotten a shot off though at the buzzer. With his luck it might've went in. Only gotta do a better job of keeping Phili out of their favorite spots to shoot, they're bound to start hitting them after halftime.

Not a bad half. Could be better though. Neither team is pulling away yet. Hopefully the Spurs have it in them to take this game.

don't get me wrong ... Bonner is playing better and better the last weeks ... but Splitter is still better

for all his negatives, bonner still contributes

as for RJ he rarely contributes and usually gets outplayed/produce by our bench and the shittest of them all bonner, there should be no excuse for that sort of shit

payin a clown 9m just to run up and down the court to make up the numbers when its always 2 on 5 on the court....

Wow, you don't see that type of miss in the paint by Leonard.

Malik sounds just like Walt Frazier.

Did Malik do some radio or tv work in San Antonio? I seem to recall someone saying he stuttered a lot back then?

He seems pretty good to me.

Anyway, Pop has his mouthpiece with the EN and Tim's using Malik as his mouthpiece tonight.

lol "Splitter is not all that talented" - Coach Pop, paraphrased.

Kuestmaster
02-08-2012, 08:10 PM
At this point I don't know what is happening in Pop's head. Blair practically only plays the first 6-7 minutes of the 1st and 3rd quarter. But he still plays Bonner a lot more than Splitter, and we make a nice run with Tiago on the floor. Please Pop, it's not a sacrilege, you won't go to hell for playing Tim and Tiago together... Ok, Bonner is playing not so bad lately, but Splitter is better, by a mile

crc21209
02-08-2012, 08:13 PM
There is no reason at all that Blair should be getting more minutes than Splitter. Bonner (right now) I'm fine with because at least he's been contributing the past couple weeks....

I honestly think recently Green has been hurting the Spurs more than helping... Kawhi needs to get in there.

imo he should be playin with the bench, at leasts the bench has better ball movement and more open to look for the open man...playin with starters to many looking to score and all he does is passive on the 3pt line...

I'm impressed with Bonner's hustle on the P&R. He's showing hard and recovering somewhat well; he's not fast enough to be really good at it though.

Expect the referees to even it up in the 4th, Spurs are going to have to make some shots because the Sixer D will pick it up and force turnovers, it's what they do.

I would also rather double Lou Williams off the PnR and make someone else hit the shot, dude is ice cold in 4th quarters...

The last time down, Parker could have filed charges, so I have no problem with the "shut your fucking mouth" call on the Sixers. If they're gonna bitch, then that's what happens. I hate Violet Palmer, but that was a good way to get control of the game IMO TBH WTF.

If history (from last year, at least) says anything about this game, I'd expect a slog for the Spurs.

Last year, they were 0-4 in games that Violet Palmer officiated and 2-4 in games that Danny Crawford officiated -- those were the only two officials in the league that the 61-win Spurs had losing records with. Both are calling tonight's game.

Interestingly, they called last year's game in Philadelphia together, which might well have been the Spurs worst offensive game of last season. In losing 77-71 in Philly last year, the Spurs shot a season-low 33% from the floor.

And the Spurs had 3 of their 7 worst shooting games of 2010-11 (and 2 of the 3 worst) in games that Palmer called. Along with the 33% stinker in Philly, they shot 36% in a loss at the Clippers last year, and they shot 39% in a loss at home to New Orleans.

Not arguing for or even implying causation; I just thought the numbers were interesting.

:lol :lol :lol
