Yeah those layups getting stuffed back in his face will be huge in the playoffs.
His low post game off the dribble is not his forte.
Setting high screes and rolling is. He is not going to beat many centers one on one consistently if he is not moving.
Mainly he is tall and can at least get rebounds that Bonner and Blair cant hope to reach. And he is more mobile than both so he can bother shots. This is really what makes him most valuable. His picks out high that result in layups are nice but secondary.

He really said this was Matt's best game all year while bagging on Tiago :lol. Balsy.
Not even taking into consideration defense where Tiago was clearly better than Matt:
Player A: 26 min, 4-8 FG, 0 FTA, 10PTS, 3 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 1 BLK
Player B: 26 min, 5-8 FG, 4-5 FTA, 14 PTS, 6 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 2 BLK
Which is better?

Class. All class.
Best game of the year WOW. I've seen him have great games in Utah. I have no idea why he plays so good against them, but he does. Since I know he has good games there I don't much stock into those games because Utah isn't a Championship contender, and they might not even make the playoffs.
All I care about is how Matt plays against the teams that are, and he usually stinks against the best teams. Especially when it comes to shooting the ball against those elite defensive teams.

I would have went with Neal at the 2 guard and Mills at PG to finish the game, moving Green to the bench. Neal really is shit defensively against quick PGs and Harris killed him. Would have been much better at the 2 guard to finish out the game.

Danny Green simply didn't know what to do with the ball. He ran around then made crappy shots. He can't handle the pressure, that's all.
He's just not a good improviser and makes easy shots look awkward.
I don't think he choked under pressure at all. He's been missing easy shots and turning them into difficult ones all season. He's been doing this in any quarter of any game.

The good news is he is tall and can move. He is very agile. I feel much more comfortable with him this year. Both Bonner and Tiago got put in spots that they dont excel in. Bonner had to rush his 3, Tiago had to try and produce offense on his own. In fact most of the guys were doing extra things they are not good at. Green over dribbling, Jackson trying to create for himself and then just relying on the 3 with tired legs...

According to most on here earlier in the year he was better/more reliable down low compared to Duncan and "4 down belonged to him now".
Honestly, statistically he probably has been better in the post because it seems like Duncan is either really good or really not. When he's on then of course you give it to him but at his age it really depends on the day more than anything else. Sort of like what I see the Celtics going through quite a bit these days.
Although his misses are super ugly, Tiago's been getting better and better in the post. He can back men his size down without problems now and a lot of his misses come from rushing his shot. That's a confidence thing more than anything else and with a few more reps I have no doubts he'd be even better. Of course, his strength is still pick and roll but during a game like this one they should've fed him the ball more.
They both have their strengths and weaknesses (Tim obviously way more strengths than weaknesses), but 4 down probably should be called for Tiago more often between the two of them.
Tim is still a fantastic player and when he's feeling it he should get priority, but he's been getting most of his points facing up and shooting this year anyway.
That's my opinion though (and you obviously disagree :D) but I've tried to be as fair as possible with it.

It was a typo and I corrected it. LOL trying to take shots at people's typos.
PATHETIC, when you couldn't read the first statement I made correctly.
Yes Neal did. He was the only one that scored in crunch time. I'd say that defenitely earned him minutes out there.
With him only having to concentrate on shooting he would have been much better off than trying to guard Harris, run the team and score all the points. That's what Pop had him doing out there. He put more of a load on Gary than any other player on the team in crunch time.
Now that I've typed that out, Pop seriously put too much pressure on Neal and put him in a bad spot expecting him to do it all was foolish of Pop.
First thing you need to look at is that he can't consistently guard players like Harris. Asking him to do all the other stuff on top is stupid coaching from Pop.

I disagree with some of those takes.
Mills played the best defense on Harris than anyone else. Diaw was solid and has been in more pressure situations than Bonner. Apart from his reaching and getting cheap fouls his defense wasn't too bad. He should have played instead of Bonner to finish out the game.
Kawhi, the reason is simple. It's shooting. It's tough to play him in crunch time because Pop probably thought he needed more shooters out there.
Bonner you can throw away the game because he's had like 3 of his best ever career games at SLC in Utah. No idea why he plays so good there. He doesn't usually back these type of games up against any of the elite teams.

So what I am saying has no logic at all? Does Gary not suck at guarding speedy PGs? Does Gary excel at shooting?
You don't think it would have been easier for Gary to be guarding a slower shooting guard and looking to get open on offense to shoot a set shot instead of trying to run the team?
Who would you have put in with Mills at shooting guard if Gary was to be on the bench?

It just seemed to me that Pop wanted Neal out there so someone had to be benched to keep him there, and I would have moved him to SG and benched Green.
I would have been OK with that lineup. The reason I wouldn't have went with Green is because he is a poor finisher, his defense would have been better, but I don't think his offense is better than Gary's.

Very true. It doesn't seem like Pop has gotten on him about though as he continues to do it. I would love to know what Pop thinks about it and what he tells him about doing that. Crappy crappy play in the 4th. Can't believe we were up 8 pts in the 4th with this shit team and we couldn't pull off the win. Zero effort in the 4th q and Sjax's shooting was simply disgusting tonight. Lead the team with a +/- of -15, way to go Jackson after having the night off yesterday! Maybe he needs to start working on that stroke of his rather than his shit music career, all his 3's are bricks. Usually when a shooter misses a 3 you can see that the ball is headed in the right direction, with Jackson you can just see that the shot is a brick, awful honestly.
Pop's a retard for tonight, loss is obviously on him 100%. You play Tony tonight and you get a win. WTF is up with him resting a 29 year old player who is in the peak of his career? Which team rests its 29year old superstar EVER? Duncan was never rested 5-6 years ago like TP has been rested, he only plays 33mpg night anyways. I wonder how some older players make it through playing 36+mpg a night and are never rested. This really gets to me. I can understand Manu and Duncan, but Tony no. What i really hate is resting them all the same night, if Pop insists on giving Tony a rest then fucking give it to him another easy game we would probably win without him.
:lol STFU
1- You guys need to stop kissing Pop's ass when he makes stupid and weird ass decisions like tonight that do not help the team whatsoever. There's simply no need to force a loss on your team and rest your 3 most important players on one night, yet Pop has done this twice already and it's retarded. Under no circumstances is this acceptable, the simple logic is to spread the DNP's over 2 or 3 games with each player getting a night off. It worked before and it will more than likely work on most nights and end up with a W.
2- Tony is young, I've never seen an old 29 year old yet. Never seen a 29 year old rested more than twice a season, Pop needs to stop pampering him. Duncan never got rest 6 or 7 years ago, and he used to play more than 33mpg. I get that this is a lockout season with a tight schedule, but I don't see other superstars being rested and they are older and play more minutes than TP does.
3- I know Pop could care less about the fans, but this is the NBA's most internationally represented team and some of us fans wake up in the middle of the morning to watch our Spurs play. I don't wake up at 4am happy to watch the Big 3 being rested while our team is asking for a loss. American fans will never quite understand this, but it's quite annoying. I also don't like it when we play a game pretty much asking to lose, this team is capable of beating most teams even with 2 of the Big 3 out, and I would have preferred to see Tony playing while the other 2 were rested.
4- Sjax's shooting was awful, no matter how you look at it. There really is no arguing this one, his shooting was on display for all of you to see. Been shooting below 30% for SAS, and below 30% for MIL this season. His shot is completely off and it doesn't even go straight, hits the side of the rim more often than not. Very ugly.
