:lol What a horrible first half. Forget the score ... these matchups are even worse than I imagined. The Lakers should be favored against the Spurs in the playoffs if the two teams matchup.

The Spurs fouled the hell out of Bynum a few times but it's like the refs felt sorry for 'em since Bynum looks like a 15 year old playing against kindergarteners so there wasn't a call. The fluke three-point shooting both ways cancels each other out. You gotta think TP will wake up in the second half but, tbh, that length in the lane makes it really hard to shoot his floater.

Oh, and to top off the abortion of a first half, it looks like Manu could have hurt his knee/quad.

I call sham. There is no "secret plan" because Splitter-Duncan haven't had enough time together to make it work. You can't just throw them in during the playoffs/later on and hope it works. Blair is a problem. Bonner is a problem. Tim can't do it all himself and if he's expected to do so going into the playoffs we're done.

He doesn't need to get in to the lane to get his floater going. He needs to get in to the lane to draw fouls on the towers, pressure their defense and create. The things that he surely has the ability to do.

Pathetic effort by the Spurs. Lucky that the refs are allowing quite a bit of contact, else LA would have a big FTA advantage given how much they're banging inside. Tony Parker is just playing scared, staying away from the hoop and taking awkward shots. Manu is still too error-prone to direct the offense. Tim has zero help in there, and Pop continues to be pig-headed about his rotations.

Based on the last couple of playoff series, I predict that Pop will finally play Tim and Tiago together as a last-ditch move after falling behind in a playoff series (ala finally playing GHill when it was too late, playing Splitter too late last year after Memphis had pounded us down low).

Are you being sarcastic?

Truthfully...NO. Living out here in So Cal, I hear LAL this and that and how they have a big front line. That Front line didn't do shit against Phoenix whose lineup wasn't one of Gortat and another physical big. It's either Gortat and Frye(let's call him a 7 foot small forward) or Gortat and Lopez in limited minutes. The Suns blew the LAL off the court.
The Spurs issue is that they've let the LAL dictate pace and TP's way off on his shot. He makes half his shots and this game is the Spurs going in. Plus really Matt Barnes...He ain't a league leader in 3's made or 3FG%. That ain't going to continue happening.

Again, while I agree that Pop should employ Duncan Splitter, I just think that Pop needs to stay the course, to show his team that what they do best is make other teams adjust to them. Just because the LAL has won a half of Basketball won't mean shit if the Spurs put them away without having to bring in the 2 tower theory.
Now, if the Spurs lose to the 2 towers tonight, we will see what happens the next time they meet. Hey...a Boris Diaw sighting.

Add the Bean factor and this ball movement the LAL is showing will go away.
It just is...Am I happy they're losing? No...but I ain't pissed about it because today ain't the playoffs.

Fakers feature the type of kryptonite that works so well against the Spurs - massive size on the frontline. Some of the other top teams have tried to counter by adding some additional size (i.e., the Mavs). Sadly, the Spurs are still smallish and it's never been more apparent than when they match up with the Fakers.

It's now 4 years since the much-criticized Gasol trade and the Spurs are STILL no match for the Fakers down low. Bynum's 19 first-half rebounds are certainly indicative of that.
