There's a difference in being relatively young and mediocre with a ceiling of maybe someday contending, and being barely mediocre with mediocrity as your absolute ceiling built around an aging point guard. the suns system isn't even built to win, their system is built solely to sell tickets. utah's system is ugly, physical grind it out basketball. you're comparing apples to oranges here.

But I'm not disagreeing. I actually completely agree with that. My point was that the Suns put their chips on Nash, Hill & Redd taking them again into that "selling extra tickets" 7th-8th seed, and it didn't pay off.

They obviously need a superstar now. I don't have a problem with the surrounding cast much (except the players I pointed out), but they need a superstar that they can ride to something better than playoff fodder.

Then again, we're talking Sarver here.

It's a business DoK... more games, more fans excited, more money coming in... you just saw Utah drop the confetti after nailing the 8th seed. Do they know they're not winning shit? Sure. Do their fans feel a lot happier that their season isn't over Friday? Sure.

Only 1 team wins the 'ship every year. There's probably only 5 (or less) legitimate contenders every season. Not all the other 25 teams are rebuilding.
This has absolutely nothing to do with what I said and didn't answer anything I said. Your original post tried to portray the Suns as a good team ruined by unexpected injuries and missed games by Grant Hill, Nash and Redd, when we both know the Suns' ceiling was first round fodder with a healthy Nash and Hill. Randomly using the "it's a business!" cliche has about as much to do with your originally argument as the 2004 Pistons have to do with the 2012 Nuggets.

I'm not sure why you of all Spurs fans feel the need to jump in the fray of retardedness with more, ":cryThe Suns have some great pieces and had a great fuckin moral victory almost making the playoffs:cry" stupidity but as Old Man Kidd said, the Suns are a heaping pile of shit and to think otherwise demonstrates a limited understanding of how the NBA works.

:lol yeah with that scintillating 11.27 PER, we all can see that Diaw's tearing up the league like it's a box of donuts.

Lol..Using PER.

Does your donut sized brain realise that PER does not exactly measure defense?

Bruce Bowen's highest PER with the Spurs - 9.5

:lol

This is my original post:

I personally always liked Gortat... I thought he would've been a great piece to play next to Duncan...

I think the biggest issue with these Suns has been the old guys... Hill missed some games, Nash can only play limited minutes, Redd is halfway done... they put all their chips there and it didn't pay off...

Then there's Lopez not developing into anything, and relying on guys like Telfair...

Other than that, there are some nice pieces there to put around a superstar... Gortat, Shannon Brown, Dudley, Morris, Frye...

Never pointed out or even suggested they were anything but playoff fodder. I also never agreed or jumped into anybody else's conclusions or arguments.

You probably got your wires mixed up while talking about this with somebody else. Chill.

I know Sarver has been trying to ride the old bus until the wheels fall off, and I feel this season they ended up falling off.

You said, "If Detroit can win that way, there's no reason Denver can't eventually." If that's not comparing style of play it sure as fuck sounds like it. Otherwise, it's really stupid logic and you might as well say, "If the Pistons can win that way, there's no reason Charlotte can't eventually!"

:lol you've shat and pissed yourself in this thread more than even R Kelly could dream of pissing and shitting on young adult women.
Well if it did I didn't mean it that way. Surprised you decided to break out a troll account just to try to make yourself feel better.

It's the first time the Suns have missed the playoffs in consecutive years since 1988 (their low point as a franchise--"The Drug Scandal" of the 1980s.)

Why do people still think, "Nash has gotta go to a contender at this point!" when he's made it clear he doesn't want to win.

Nash is resigning in Phoenix. Probably a 3 year, $24mil contract that no other team would be caught dead giving him.

I'm not saying he has to go to a contender. I was just asking if he will go play for the heat, I read somewhere he'd love to play with these guys. I don't know if it is remotely possible and yeah I agree I'm not sure he is really committed to try to win something one day.

I really like Nash, by the way, he is a fun player to watch, he has the fantastic ability to transform shitty players to something else (amare, gorcat, dudley...) the only who is dumb enough to not grab the opportunity to shine is Lopez. Lopez is already bad, imagine him a second playing without nash :lol
