There's something about seeing Blair on the floor during a playoff game that bothers me.

At the first moment I was sure he wasn't Splitter the guy on that break. He was quickly for a 7 ft. It's a shame he missed the lay up.
Obviously he's recovering his confidence. He begins to seem the player he was in Spain

Our 2nd unit obliterated Jazz, look for their starters to tire a bit in 2nd half (hopefully).

I'm somewhat surprised. The Jazz have had a slight reffing edge for the first 3 games of the series, but in game 4 we've had a handful of terrible calls called in our favor.
Didn't look like Blair was fouled (the fact that it was a late whistle is also suspect).
Favors definitely didn't foul Duncan on his last trip to the free throw line.
I think I'm missing 1 or 2 more calls in our favor, but there's definitely been a net edge to the Spurs so far.

Ginobili's struggling because he's rusty. Sitting him out isn't going to fix any of that.
For the first time I actually think the rotation is too long, players barely play, Pop is in full mad scientist mode throwing so weird 5s out there. Feels chaotic.
I we will we'll sit one week, this is the last repetition, dont see the point of fucking with the confidence/riddum of soemone like Kawhi or Boris who need the repetition.

Yep. And then our bench can push the lead up again permanently and we'll sweep them in style after they give up at around the 5 minute mark.
I hope.

The problem with Blair when he's playing pick & roll is that he believes he's MJ. If he gets the ball he goes to the basket yes or yes. Even if he find 4 guys protecting the rim.

Manu's not playing poorly overall, but his shot is broken right now. He can't even make free throws. He's got no balance for whatever reason. He can't stand still and go up straight. He's either leaning forward or backward, left or right. Needs to tweak it between this series and next and find that balance.

Two stats on the stat sheet jump out at you.
7 assists. That's right 7. Spurs should have at least 10 to 14 every half.

If shots that didnt drop early go down in the second half, Jazz are toast. Big time toast.

We surely missed a bunch of easy shots we usually make and no way favors didn't foul on a few of those blocks. All that and we're still up 8. I agree that the level of play is disconcerting, if understandable. Still, my fear would be that it will be difficult for the team to get in the right mindset for focus and crisp execution for the first game of the next series, and if they don't....we can lose HCA.

Gooseegg for Diaw + 2 assists = looking more like a LLE candidate than MLE. It's early in the playoffs, but I think we may need to let Boris test the free agent waters and see if we want to match what he can get.

Wow awful stretch we went up weak with everything just when it appeared the route was on and the Jazz made us pay at the other end. Oh well we can obviously use some more practice before round #2 at this rate.

05-07-2012, 08:47 PM
The ease of this game will come down to whether or not the bench can supply their usual kick. If they don't, the Spurs might have to execute at the end. If they do, this game could be over within the next 12 minutes, tbh.

We need Manu to get involved in the offense. He's been way too quiet.

Hard to complain. We're getting wide open shots.
I thought Timmy was a little hesitant on taking the open jumper at the end of the second half. Even though he missed, at least he's not hesitating.

Guy's taken 3 shots (made 2 of them), and he's getting the ball to a wide open Timmy. Tim is just missing his jumper.
