Green was not known as a 3 pts shooter in the early season. He played with energy and provide good defense and his hustle plays are manu-esque.

Then he slowly showed that he can shoot 3s and has proven to be a streaky shooter.

In the playoffs, he was too dependent on his 3s and he was lucky that he was stay hot during the 1st 2 rounds. But when he went cold in the WCF, he was useless. His hustle, defense, energy....all gone.

The Spurs wouldn't have made such short work of the Clippers and Jazz without Green's contributions. He was a key contributor as a starter throughout the season. Sure he had some ups and downs, but he worked hard and stayed with the program.

Granted, he didn't have a good series versus the Thunder and his epitaph was written once Pop changed the starting lineup. However, he should continue to improve and I want to see him back in the starting 2-guard role next year.

Personally, I'm glad to hear he wants to be back and I'm sure the Spurs will welcome him back.

He's still improving. I'd like to see if he can keep developing into a Bruce Bowen/Raja Bell style elite defensive player. As well as get a little less streaky with his offense. Remember, thanks to the lockout, he hasn't had a real offseason with the Spurs yet.

He has the potential to be a real asset over the next 5-10 years, and I'd like for him to stick around and see if he can achieve it.

As for Kawai, I think the kid has superstar potential, but even he was frazzled and overwhelmed in this series at times.

I've got news for some of you guys, Green was the best defensive 2-guard this team had this year. And yes, he was better than Manu. Anyone who watched the games could see that.

As a matter of fact, the Spurs are better much defensively on the perimeter with both Green and Leonard in the starting lineup.

Now if they can get a young, rugged, bulldog of a power forward to go along side of Duncan, they'll be significantly improved on the backline.

It's sad that the Spurs haven't found a 4th guy/role player that has panned out since Bruce, Barry, and Horry retired.

Hill? Gone. Jefferson? Gone. Mason? Gone. Blair? Nothing more than a 5th big. Neal? Has his moments but his defense is too limited. Splitter? Maybe, but he needs to toughen up.

Leonard and Jackson own those roles for now. Hopefully Leonard doesn't fall to the "2nd year" curse the above guys go through. But I trust Leonard will come the closest.

I'm over Green. He can take the qualifying offer. If not, good luck to his next team.

I thought going into this year that he was a fringe player. And then it looked for a long time that he was some legit guy. But no, he was just a legit out of rotation role player for a contender. Just a playoff choker.

He's replaceable. He's not Stephen Jackson in 03. He's just a guy. Guys like him and Alonzo Gee are always going to be available on the streets.

Neal is not worth spending on either. I liked him more than Mason when he first started with the Spurs, when he gave effort on defense. Now that he's 'made it' and Pop doesn't care about defense anymore, he's just a slightly better shooting Mason. I'd take my chances bringing De Colo over and just trade Neal.

I hope he comes back. The guy did pretty well for us during the season and given another year and training camp and off-season workouts he should be even better this year. He's proven he's a great player and I'm glad he wants to stay with the Spurs.

Right now all our young guys are going through what Thunder players went through in years past. More importantly the Thunder kept it together and so should we. It's one reason I don't want to get rid of Blair, the Spurs have invested a lot in him already and if he's going to put it all together he'll pay off really well for us. The time to abandon Blair has passed. There needs to be some consistency with his and everyone else's minutes, especially come playoff time. We need some toughness and Pop needs to stick with players getting their minutes even if a game looks like a lost effort. Our players learned a lot this season I hope we keep the majority of our players for next year and they show us what they can bring given a second chance.
