A fight of batman versus harvey dent at the end is an incredible let down considering the villain of the film is, you know, THE JOKER. Plus, we had been watching Batman fight the Joker for two hours already so its incredibly foolish to throw together a batman/dent conflict in the span of twenty minutes and expect the audience to actually give a shit. So Nolan throws in a KID and has Harvey Dent become a potential child murderer to try and build suspense. And nolanites eat it up! You guys really are fucking stupid. :lol

I sure as hell remember Jack Nicholson's joker falling to his death from the helicopter ladder and I havent seen that film in over a decade. Compare that to HOWEVER the Joker and "scarecrow" respective conflicts were resolved. You could offer me a MILLION dollars and I couldnt tell you what happened to ScareCrow in "Batman Begins". Wow I never should've said batman saves joker...it's all this fucking dude can talk about and he's taking it extremely out of context. It's not like the joker was being ambushed and the batman rescued him. He throws the joker off the building but instead of letting him hit the ground he let's him hang in midair allowing him to be arrested instead. This is when the joker tells him what he has done to dent.

And gordons son comes into the equation because dent blames Gordon for rachaels death and now he wants him to know the feeling of losing the person he loves the most. It's not like it was completely out of the blue just for shits and giggles.

Way too many characters to invest time into. Batman and Bane should've been the primary focus but instead we're also led to follow Officer Blake, the Commissioner, Miranda, Foley, and Catwoman and it really brings all the characters to a level where we know all of their motives but never enough to become emotionally invested. No one's fate comes off as having any kind of impact. None of the characters seem human. Everyone has a poetic vocabulary, all the time.

It also seems kind of awkward to make this a trilogy when there was never an overarching plot throughout all 3 movies. The first two movies were stand alone and then this third one attempted to pretend like there was something planned throughout all three.

I had been waiting for Prometheus for over a year and when it came out I was in denial that it was good. I wanted it to be a masterpiece and invoke existential thought... but it just ended up being a collection of jumbled ideas and bad writing. Same with TDKR. It was just an unpolished collection of characters written badly. My sentiments for Prometheus and TDKR are nearly identical and it sucks because I was so sure both movies would deliver.

I don't know. I was underwhelmed. Easily my least favorite of the three. Bane didn't translate as well into Nolan's ultra realistic world. That mask was obviously meant to do something other than deliver pain meds. Plus I agree that his character was hurt by basically making him a protector/stooge at the end. While it wasn't the fault of anybody working on the film, having Bane empty Arkham instead of the local pen and including the Joker would've made the movie so much better. There are other things I could nitpick about but overall the movie just didn't do much for me.

What I did like was how Bruce Wayne has aged and how the time spent fighting crime has taken a toll on his body.

More gripes:

There's too many half-speeches in the beginning and I fucking hate that Robin already knows who Batman is right from the start.

The plane hijacking is still fun to watch but wasn't overall as awesome as Joker's bank scene

Bane's sewer scene is still bad ass, although his mask and voice can be more annoying than not on the big screen. They really should have redesigned Bane more, his movie character's background and physical weaknesses are dumb even for a comic book movie

Too much Pvt Joker, and cutting to his closed eye death looked like something from a B-Movie

Batman's chase and escape was theatrical magnificence, but could of lived without the old cop and his lines "you're in for a show today, son"

Way too many shots of Gotham. The Bat flyer got annoying, only need one shot of people squinting at the cool shiny toy, felt like 3-4

Too many characters to cram in a final part of a trilogy.

When Wayne was rehabbing in the pit and doing situps, was it supposed to be funny when he said he was angry instead of scared? Loved Wayne's few scenes of comedic relief though, like when he knew Catwoman wasn't truly sorry for Wayne's misfortune or when Wayne EMP'd the cameras

Anne H. is maybe a good Catwoman, but good doesn't cut it when you've got greats like the acting seen in Joker and Bane. Felt like watching a raspy Sandra Bullock in a leather suit. She was closer to Matthew Modine's performance than Tom Hardy: forgettable

The music drives the movie, it almost made you care in the parts that the storytelling fell short like climbing out of the pit.

More gripes:

There's too many half-speeches in the beginning and I fucking hate that Robin already knows who Batman is right from the start.

The plane hijacking is still fun to watch but wasn't overall as awesome as Joker's bank scene

Bane's sewer scene is still bad ass, although his mask and voice can be more annoying than not on the big screen. They really should have redesigned Bane more, his movie character's background and physical weaknesses are dumb even for a comic book movie

Too much Pvt Joker, and cutting to his closed eye death looked like something from a B-Movie

Batman's chase and escape was theatrical magnificence, but could of lived without the old cop and his lines "you're in for a show today, son"

Way too many shots of Gotham. The Bat flyer got annoying, only need one shot of people squinting at the cool shiny toy, felt like 3-4

Too many characters to cram in a final part of a trilogy.

When Wayne was rehabbing in the pit and doing situps, was it supposed to be funny when he said he was angry instead of scared? Loved Wayne's few scenes of comedic relief though, like when he knew Catwoman wasn't truly sorry for Wayne's misfortune or when Wayne EMP'd the cameras

Overall unimpressive storytelling

Anne H. is maybe a good Catwoman, but good doesn't cut it when you've got greats like the acting seen in Joker and Bane. Felt like watching a raspy Sandra Bullock in a leather suit. She was closer to Matthew Modine's performance than Tom Hardy: forgettable

that is supposed to reference dialogue between Bruce and Rasa Gul in Batman Begins, where Bruce tells him that he has covered up/buried his guilt and fear with anger. That entire Pit part of the movie is just Bruce coming to face to face with fear again and letting it drive him like it did in Batman Begins.
