Lol deadweight. Denver traded a very talented player in Nene for McGee. Blatche can be called deadweight. And from this post, it seems you don't seem to understand the economics of small markets, and how it relates to being able to sign high, profile, free agents. Once you get over the fact that the Spur's FO and ownership are, in your words, "pussies", you'll realize the Spurs are not able to land coveted free agents, nor do they often take chances on knucklehead players, regardless of their talent.
You're right and the other guy is either a 14yo or a moron.
We had nothing to trade that could have landed McGee. He's a growing talent who could be a beast under the right coach. I bet Karl makes him a better player just as Pop would've.

Seems like your attempting to come out of the closet on here. Try the club forum instead.

I know it's only pre-season, but it looks like Blatche is back and focussed on righting past wrongs. He's still got the game, and it looks like a veteran locker room has his head in the right space. Wish he'd come here...

You may well be right, but Blatche looked like losing it all and has started to reform... now, whether he keeps it up is another matter, but surrounded by veteran steadying influences some guys are capable of real change. Just look at what Eddy Curry is doing! Anyway, we shall see.

I haven't seen him play but his stats looks good.
Saying that, another player that has looked good so far in this preseason is Dejuan Blair. He has worked a lot this summer with promising results. He is in his best shape ever and his mid-range jumpshot has improved a lot. If Spurs plan was to give a legit shot at a motivated and hard working Blair, signing Blatche wasn't a good idea.
Bruno: I think that was the Spurs' plan all along. Internal improvement is more important to a system-heavy team like the Spurs.

I'm not sure of that. There were a lot of rumors early in the summer that Blair was on the trading block on some rumors about Spurs being interested in players like Kenyon Martin or Blatche.
I guess what happened is Spurs had a hard time finding a replacement for Blair and other teams haven't offered a lot for Blair. They saw too that Blair was in a better shape and was working hard. These 3 points pushed Spurs to backpedal and give Blair another shot. With that idea, Spurs have decided to stop going after PFs like Martin or Blatche.

I'm not sure the Spurs were ever interested in Blatche. The only actual quotes were from Blatche, and perhaps that showed the direction of interest. player to team and not vice versa.

Blairs per40 numbers and his efficiency numbers look sick. for whatever it is worth. i didn't check, but I bet on some other teams fan boards there are some Spursdachamp type syndroms going crazy on the FO for not having traded for him.

Good signs. I've always thought Blair cops far too much criticism on ST, so hopefully this year he can really silence the naysayers.

Tbh - I know a lot of people on here are singing Blair's praises, but I personally don't think he's playing a whole lot better. Maybe the stats look better, but overall I just don't see a dramatic change to make believe he's going to be kept beyond this year (unless he signs a steal of a contract). Still early and he looks in great shape - so signs are positive.

Blair always looks good for a stretch I wouldn't put much stock into it & talk about overrating Blair!

I have seen this on the Jazz board, the Clippers board, the Pacers board, etc. Lots of other fanbases think highly of Blair. The trick is to get another Front office to think highly of him.

He has his moments and it is looking like he's not going to be a big risk healthwise. I think he knows at this point that if he wants a lucrative nba career that he has to remain focused and work hard this year and then it will be something of a bidding war for him in the off season. He knows he isn't a max player but he realizes that he is a one or two contract guy before he retires and needs his money I expect him to be focused and sign for a bit above the mid level, to a 3 year deal to a bottom feeder team, do moderately well his first year, have issues his second year and then who knows.

I think I've said it before, but I should reiterate it.
I've lived in DC for the past 4 years and have unfortunately watched far too many Wizards games. We do not want Blatche. The guy is a cancer.
