tbh these fans are worse than the Thunder.

You can see the jizz on the court when the Jazz do something remotely positive.

Green 3 coming, same play we ran against the Lakers.

Could've really used that jumper by Timmy. His outside shot has been off today for some reason, and on the other end Jefferson is hitting every outside shot he takes.

It's amazing how people post stupid shit like this.

Ginobili is a streaky player. Remember game 4 of the 2007 Finals? What did he have? 3 points or something? It happens with him. At least he settles when he's sucking and doesn't hero ball it up like some players. He was only 2/6 tonight and still contributed in other ways with six rebounds, five assists (including that SUPERB pass to Stiffler), and good defense.

I was actually glad they decided to iso their pg against Green. Green has historically done pretty decent, and the Jeremy Lin shot clock violation is still fresh in our mind. a pull up 26-27 footer is something we have to live with. millsap would have gotten a layup if he got the ball

This is a road-weary loss. Team has been on the road for so long, the Jazz were smart to push it up the floor hard every time and either score in transition or get good looks. Jefferson beasted and couldn't miss. Spurs have more road wins than most teams have overall wins. I think we'll be OK.

some real dumb plays by the roleplayers at the end. Green's foul and Diaw's turnover hurt.

Timmy having a big game is pretty much the same as Kobe puttin up 30. Usually leads to a loss for their team.

Well not as bad as Kobe :lol

Foye missed the and-1 free throw, it made no difference whatsoever.

Parker and Duncan both missed open jumpers in the last minute, and Parker turned it over at the end 30 seconds before Diaw did.

I would be surprised if Spurs lose to Portland. Their bench sucks. Batum is injured and won't be available to play one of his fluke games he always has against us. Matthews is also out. They're starting Sasha FUCKING Pavlovic.

Surprise, surprise...while the Spurs will be playing their 5th game in 7 nights tomorrow, the Blazers last played on Monday night. With Jeffries, Babbitt, Leonard, Smith, and Barton coming off the bench....

Matt Bonner actually played pretty well.

I agree that Splitter should get more minutes. I think he should close out the games and not Diaw. Hopefully, we'll see that come playoffs time.

BonBon most definitely played well. Has been for the last few games to be honest. The truth is I don't trust him.

Otoh Blair has the Spurs in a bind. When the team is tired like it was tonight, the last thing TD needs is to be babysitting Blair against a solid frontcourt. Blair's dead weight in the SL. He needs to come off the bench or not play at all.

Agreed on Splitter. Though if Tiago gets around 25-30/game I don't particularly mind Diaw closing depending on the match-ups.

I'm gutted but my panties aren't in a twist. I'm just not a fan of people blaming this all on the role players when Timmy and Tony didn't make the big plays at the end. Hell, the only person to hit a jumper in the last 4 minutes was Green.

Last 4 minutes we got outscored 14-3, Duncan missed a free throw, an open baseline jumper, Parker missed an open free throw line jumper, had a turnover as did Diaw and Green.

Definitely not putting the entire loss on Green. But there were a lot of missed assignments throughout the game that freed up his man for open looks.

Timmy carried the team the whole night so I'll give him a pass on a missed free throw and jumper tbh. Same thing with Tony IMO. Didn't end well but kept us in the whole time when Spurs should have been down big going into the 4th with the way they played in the 2nd and half of the third.

True but Spurs resiliency and focus on the road have made that stat somewhat irrelevant.

Like someone else said, it will even out eventually.

Just took a look at the Spurs schedule and they basically will be home the entire month of March. Basically they bunched up all their homestand games in a month. IMO it will end up benefiting them at the end.

I hate how Pop is managing the bench/role players this year. After 23 games played, he is still playing the mad scientist and changing his rotation each quarter.

If you want to develop a player, you had to stick with him when he is struggling and let him figure it out. It's hard for a player to grow and start being consistent if his role/playing time is always changing.

Off course, injuries haven't helped to settle a rotation, but it's more than the time for Pop to make choices. He has a make a commitment to some players. It might cost few wins now but it will pay dividends in the playoffs when it really matters.

Tim Duncan is 36 and he had a magnificent game against a team with 4 good big men. Fans expecting anymore from than that from TD is a joke.

Blair, Bonner, Diaw are the ones that needed to step up and they didn't do shit, they're bordering on useless and I have had enough of them not helping TD out on a consistent basis. Blaming Tim for missing that jumper is total crap after everything else he did in the game for the Spurs.

It's a money thing. Bigs are overpaid and we have Tim Duncan, who in comparison, makes most other bigs look like crap.

The Spurs have to overpay to get someone here, but once you've had D-Rob and Tim Duncan you don't really want to pay any of the scrubs out there their asking price.

For example, I would not pay anywhere near 15 million for Tyson Chandler. Someone like that would probably put us over the top, but after having Tim Duncan, there is no way you'd want to pay even someone like Chandler 15 million. The other issue is he probably wouldn't want to come here even if we were offering the same amount of money as another team, he'd probably choose the other team pretty much every time if they were in a bigger market.

Spurs are in a pretty shit position. Their best bet is taking a gamble on someone. They should have taken a gamble on Blatche. It really sucks if they were the ones that passed up on him and it wasn't Blatche himself that didn't want to come here. Greg Oden is someone else the Spurs should take a look at if/when he makes a comeback attempt. They had the right idea with Curry, but they should have done that with Blatche instead. Oden is someone with a massive reward, they should definitely keep an eye on him.

It really stinks that TD has to carry most of the load himself still.

Yep, let's hope he will find his rotation in January. I just find he is spending (wasting?) a lot of time doing so. It would have been better to have 82 games to work on the rotation than about 50 games.

In additions to injury, what isn't helping Pop is that Spurs' roster is strangely build with a logjam of guards and not a lot of depth in the frontcourt. It isn't an excuse for Pop, since, as a big part of the FO, he is a reason of this weird and unbalanced roster.

It depends
82 games it's a lot and the spurs core knows how to play basketball. The problem is with the rest of the guys - those who are not a big3 :)

It's tough to have such strange roster where everybody can contribute. Especially the worst IMO is to find a space for Mills and Neal. De Colo probably will not get a chance to play in the playoffs. All in all Pop will hve to pair Ginobili as a playmaker with one of this two man.

Frontcourt is getting worse and worse. Bonner is who he is, Blair is fading and it seems like Diaw as well. That's not good prognostic for the rest of the season. I hope Diaw will level his game up. And let's hope Splitt will progress as he does.

All in all the situation cannot stay for a whole season, because again in the PO where the rotations are shorter spurs needs to have stable 8-man rotation.
