Hmmmmmmmmm....
How did you get that one, tbh, if you don't mind me asking?
Those are pretty tough to get unless you win the diversity lottery (can't be, since Mexico is disallowed from participating), get sponsored for a high skilled job (can't be either, you're still in school), or married an american (don't think you did?)...
Dad was granted Permanent Residence sometime in the late 80s or very early 90s. Eventually he got residence for my mom, me, and my other siblings. Kind of fucked up that I dont even know what those reform(s) is/are called but yeah we were one of the few families from my hometown that got them. Or more like my dad was one of the few that applied, since most other people were scared and paranoid from what hes told me.

Dude, dont be gay. I dont get why you try so hard to fit in. I wasnt even saying you hate the USA or anything like that, all I was saying is that you still have love for Argentina (and Italy too I guess). Otherwise why dont you root for the USA in soccer instead? Theres nothing wrong with that though, Im not hating...I was just using you as an example that its possible to have love for two countries.
You see it as fitting in, I see it as embracing the place that I now call home, tbh... I don't really understand why the reluctance when you've been here for so long (I've permanently moved in '99, so you've been here longer than I have).
Again, not pretending to understand why it happens, but I definitely see that it does, especially with Mexicans. Love is ok, but the full blown la raza pride is completely different story.
As far as soccer, yeah, I normally root for Arg at the NT level when it's a major event. When it's tourneys here up north, I'm with Team USA. But another favorite team of mine is Barcelona from Spain (and this goes way before Messi) and I have nothing to do with Spain... sports are not that important when it comes to that, IMO. I mean, I still don't like the NFL or chosen a team there, same goes for the MLB. I don't particularly enjoy the sports, so there's no point in bandwagoning there.

Probably during the Reagan amnesty. You're a lucky guy. I went through the H1B skilled worker visa, then green card, and eventually citizenship. Doing it right is hard as fuck, takes a lot of time and money.
That's why personally I have little sympathy for the illegals. I understand their struggle, but the line to do things right is tough as hell and they just jump right in front. Not cool, IMO.

You need to defend wearing an Argie jersey in order to show youre embracing the USA? Or defend rooting for the Argie NT? Theres no need to defend it or say you only do it to draw Manus attention, thats weak...aint nothing wrong with having some love for Argentina or having love for your countrymen. Shits normal. Thats why youre not the only Argie around the country that goes to Spurs games with Argie flags/jerseys.

Latinos in general are proud people. Youll see the same type of behavior from all of them, theres just alot more Mexicans than the rest of them. Go to South Beach and youll hear plenty of Spanish and see plenty of Cuban or Puerto Rican flags, even Brazilians. Argies pop up with flags for Spurs games, central Americans for soccer games, etc.

there're many similarities between one's nationality and his bitch imho. for sure you can have two or more nationalities/bitches at the same time and that's not morally wrong, but a smart man would probably not brag about one bitch while talking with the other imho. your making a stupid ass of yourself when you speak proudly of being mexican while living and getting paid in the US tbh
You clearly don't think very highly of where you come from, seeing that you left for a different country.
If you don't want to forget it, you're more than welcome to hand your green card in and go back to it.
Interesting response coming from a race that doesn't even have a real country. How much did the Jews pay for Israel again? :lol

When you add all the fees, taxes (obviously), days off work for fingerprinting, interviews, paperwork, etc... you're looking at well over $10K over a 7-10 year period... and you go through that entire process without knowing shit, or if some fuck will wake up with the wrong foot and screw you over. I'd be willing to bet that if we polled 10,000 Mexican immigrants asking if they loved Mexico or the US more, an overwhelming majority would choose the former option.
And yes, I understand the psychology behind it. It's the country they were born and raised in, have family in, and have a great deal of nostalgia for. My contention is that if you're going to willingly emigrate from a country in pursuit of a better life to a country that can provide it, you should make the effort to embrace that country as your new home. Too many Mexicans seem to regard the US as nothing more than a workplace, having a similar apathy toward it as an office worker might have toward the corporation they work for.
Granted, that observation is based off my personal experience with newly immigrated Mexicans: They're here more for the work/benefits than wanting to be a part of the American experience.

but otherwise, you've dropped some great truth bombs throughout this thread. I don't understand La Raza either, nor do I understand why the media treats an openly racist organization with kid's gloves.
I also don't understand why FkLa or other hispanics are so gleeful about making whites a minority since we can't keep up with their roach like ability to breed. If the Southwest goes brown, which is already happening, it will just become a third world shit hole like where you guys come from. Do you really want that?
Wait, yall think La Raza is some kind of organization? A racist one? :lol
Bruh its just a saying. Its slang for 'the people' or 'my niggas', it doesnt even have to be exclusive to Mexicans either...you can be from anywhere and be considered raza. Like I said it seems like yall make shit up to bitch about tbh. I think theres a gang in Chicago called that but it aint no Mexican movement or anything like that.

Man, why does it bother you if the fresh immigrants dont immediately assimilate? Give them time and the later generations will have no problem calling the new waves of immigrants wetbacks. I have no idea what Mexicans yall talk about that take a bunch of generations to assimilate. A good chunk deteriorate in just about everything else once theyre Americanized though. I think all the little Surenos and Nortenos in Cali give Mexicans a worse name than the illegals tbh.

Soon it wont take much for these shitstained nationalists to become full on racist like the maggots that inhabit the wasteland that is now europe.

The last post I saw on here was on page 4 (I think) about FkLA hauling the bar across the border and subsequently raising said bar. In doing so, he figuratively put the entire Mexican race on his back, doe. I went back and did some catching up, and I must say I'm glad we've all been able to come together and discuss the beauty of our differences.
Was that directed at me? I have a job offer from da best bank in da world.
Congrats brah. I know you've been working that ass off in school. What bank is you be workin fo?

Condos > townhomes. I see you doe
Well, I actually have an Italian heritage (had Italian citizenship before American), and actually live in the Jersey Shore (:lol)... your typical guido here speaks English, retains some Italian cultural things, but overall they're proud Americans.
They're also don't forget where they come from, but that's where it ends.
As a former non-mexican-Latino, that's something I never understood about Mexicans... the whole 'La Raza' pride... I mean, logically speaking, you left your country because it fucking sucks... why would you want to turn this country into the same shithole you left? DoK is spot on about Latin-American countries... they're full of corruption and incompetence.. why in the world would you want to transplant that here?
You see it as fitting in, I see it as embracing the place that I now call home, tbh... I don't really understand why the reluctance when you've been here for so long (I've permanently moved in '99, so you've been here longer than I have).
Again, not pretending to understand why it happens, but I definitely see that it does, especially with Mexicans. Love is ok, but the full blown la raza pride is completely different story.
Immigrant on immigrant crime. ElNono dropping a twosie right on FkLA's forehead. People who have sacrificed and put in the time and the work to become an American citizen usually value their citizenship more than most Americans. That's something I have a lot of respect for. And people like Nono are the ones who have made the US a great nation. The only real problem I see is that he's an unabashed Manu fan unwilling to accept the reality of what Manu has become. He's also probably a fan of that homo Carlos Delfino.
As far as I'm concerned, the biggest problem I have is not with the people who come here illegally to provide their families with better opportunities. I think if I were in that situation, and if there were no way to get my family to the US legally, I'd probably try to get them out of Mexico whatever way I could. Desperate people do desperate things, especially when it comes to protecting their family. I'm not going to try to pretend that I understand what it's like to be in that position.
The biggest problem I have is that the non-troublemakers (legal and illegal) who are here to work hard and contribute positively, don't speak out against the troublemakers. All these worthless ass Mexicans committing crimes and contributing nothing to society are ruining it for all the Mexicans, even the ones who are trying to do things the right way. But even still, none of them want to speak out for fear of being labeled a "traitor" to La Raza. George Lopez is a good example. They continue to elect politicians who come off as immigration-friendly. They don't realize that illegal immigration wouldn't even be an issue if they were all coming over here to be engineers and doctors.

to them mexican immigrants, and immigrants from other countries as well, america is just something like the luxurious house of a rich friend's. you really enjoy being there & partying with your friends, but you know that's not your home and never will be, and you'll be gone when the whole place is trashed up. if god tells you that a big fire will inevitably burst out either in your austere home or the opulent one that your friend owns, you would for sure rather see your friend's home being destroyed rather than yours.
