A W is a W, but it's a shame that we taught OKC the lesson that the Spurs invariably cannot hold a lead.
Of course, OKC knows that already.
same play last 3 possessions just that kl became green

Shocked we got this, but there are still some concerning issues.
- Manu doesn't look where he needs to be.
- The officiating
- Duncan having trouble against OKC

thing about Manu is, he is just getting old...his mind is sharper than his body; it's a sad fact.He was what he was and he is what he is. Aren't we all?

kawhi is beasting, manu worries me, fuck the refs
I am amazed, frankly, that we were able to pull this off. We got better officiating than I expected, and Leonard and Splitter were the difference. Well done.

We won and I know Parker is out but...I don't feel good about us. We don't rebound, we get nervous under pressure and we make stupid plays.
We have a ton of work to do before playoffs.

I've said it all along OKC vs. Spurs is a 50-50 on either side, now that Harden is gone.
It's all pointless cause Heat will pummel either one.

To be fair to Tiago, he was on the bench most of the series as he couldn't hit free throws.

I think that OKC's a little bit too fast for him. This game at least I admit I don't really remember what happened when we played them last time (besides losing terribly).

Spurs played much better D this game thats why they won this game as simple as that and we had guys step up who have improved from last year it's not that hard to figure out stop with this last season bs were in this season and this spurs team is simply better this year than last years.

:lol How are people complaining about a win without Tony Parker vs. the WCF champs?..
The Spurs won despite Ginobili and Duncan struggling..this game was important for the confidence of Leonard, Green and Splitter and they responded well..it also shows Pop that Leonard and Splitter can be trusted to run some offense when Ginobili and Duncan are struggling..
In all seriousness, the way both Kawhi and Splitter played was a very welcomed surprise...comparing them to last season's playoffs is like night and day. It spells good news.

I'm pretty much counting on Parker not still being injured by then. Tonight wasn't drastically different than the way they've played all season long, they just stepped up.
If you want to pray, you should probably pray that Westbrook continues to dominate the ball the way he does.

I'm not complaining about the win. It was beautiful basketball for the most part. I'm just worried about Timmy right now. His one on one defense and low post game since returning from injury have been absolute garbage, and his shot is more flat. I think that knee injury may have impacted him enough to cause him to come back down to earth. He's back to his 2010-2012 ways of refusing to shoot jump hooks/mix it up and just throwing up those low-percentage shots over his right shoulder.
His overall game looks lazy right now, so unless he's coasting, I'd say he's still hobbled.
As for Manu, I've given up. I'd love to be proven wrong though.
Capt Bringdown
03-11-2013, 09:57 PM
The Duncan / Splitter / Leonard front line is legit.
Probably the best takeaway from this game. The more we focus on Leonard and Splitter the better.
Just play basketball. No midget ball, no f'n harlem globetrotter passes, no 3-pt shootemups.
Basketball. Inside/outside game.
Defense. Rebounds.
The good stuff.

Tbh those guys wouldn't have had to go ballistic if TP was playing and we got decent production from Timmy. If they play like tonight (confidence-wise) when our team is at full strength, then we have a shot against OKC.

03-11-2013, 10:04 PM
Duncan did look sloppy tonight but one thing to remember is that without Parker his midrange shots arent good looks
Parker gets deeper penetration and throws on point passes
Green running the pick and roll gives it up at the first sign of a show and throws off target passes
that half a second difference in the time it takes to get it recover and shoot makes a HUGE difference vs an athletic OKC team
with tony he gets clean midrange shots off and probably does a bit better

I am pretty dissapointed about those here thinking TD and Manu didnīt look good or whatever...
Seem to forget that when it counted those have always performed. Itīs the backup stars (ie green, leonard and splitter) who failed to deliver when it was first needed of them last year during the WCF.
Itīs OK, Parker also failed in his first playoffs experiences and in the end he is now a reliable playoff player. But donīt understimate proven winners over wannabes for one game where the winners took a backseat from the wannabes.
Thatīs what they have to do at this age.

I'll be honest. I really don't like that.
Gary Neal at backup PG spells disaster. I'd rather have Manu than GNeal. I sure hope CoJo gets some solid PT before TP comes back. We have plenty of others to provide "O". Perhaps there will be times in the playoffs CoJo and GNeal can play together, but the team is better off with CoJo and his "D" than GNeal's "O".
