I swear to god Reggie Miller is fucking brain damaged. This is a direct quote of what he just said: "Tim Duncan thought he was fouled on the other end by (long pause) Tim Duncan."
Fucking moron :lol

Cry Havoc
04-04-2013, 09:40 PM
Even you don't believe that. Quite the difference in winning games (especially when team are trying and fine tuned going into the playoffs..) and a team's health, quality and style of play going into the playoffs. By your logic, since the Spurs have had the best regular season record for a while, they should have been a lock in recent years..
If the Spurs stayed healthy, they would have at least one more title right now. Probably two. Either way, how many titles have the Thunder won based on this sample size? I think when healthy we're the 2nd best team in the league.
And by their very nature, playoffs are NEVER locks, since the sample size for those games are comparatively small. You can't argue for the validity of the breadth of sample size and then use playoffs to prove your point.

Your point is despite all signs pointing to this being a huge game and them getting steamrolled to start, that there are some really strong silver linings and nothing to worry about?
Does that sound correct? If so, I violently disagree based on the current evidence.

Um. Sample size was YOUR point, pal. I was just using it against you since it's right there for the taking, ESPECIALLY considering we've been injured all year and still have a better record.
That doesn't make any sense. Playoffs are all that matters. Spurs getting beat by an 8th seed, swept by the Suns, then dismissed by OKC is a result of many a regular season analysis. Your point that "regular season doesn't matter" is silly, especially in context. Spurs have many issues that are visible in the regular season even though an individual game might not always say much.
What the hell? When did I say there's nothing to worry about? When is there EVER nothing to worry about for an NBA team. I bet Miami fans are worried right now.
However, this kneejerk reactionary bullshit based on a SINGLE REGULAR SEASON GAME is just absolutely fucking absurd.
I said Spur fan reaching for silver linings is funny and you took offense. There is always a silver lining for even the worst teams - makes no sense to act like it is something to bank on. :lol No one in MIA is worried. That's silly. This is not a knee-jerk reaction at all. Read my posts (and even guys like Timvp) that have been speaking about the signs for a while. No one is saying they are done, but there is more than enough reasons to be alarmed like I listed. This is more than your typical regular season game and saying otherwise is just being flat out intellectually dishonest even if it ends up meaning nothing in the long run.

TP's burst clearly isn't there yet, you can notice whenever a big is switched onto him instead of exploiting it, he passes it to the big with the smaller guy on him. Not that that's the wrong basketball play, but it's not what he normally does. He's still recovering, but he'll be fine for the playoffs. And if we play the lakers tony running at 50% would still blow by everyone :lol

I agree with some home cooking for the thunder but thats to be expected. Why on earth wasn't the second unit running pick and rolls like mad with neal and splitter? Tim was rushing his shots in the 2nd quarter, he needs to be patient like he was in the 1st, tbh..don't let the refs affect you..
Spurs obviously need Parker to wake up and play like a star, along with either Neal/Green being hot in the 2nd half..it would also help if one of Splitter/Diaw/De Colo/Bonner contributes at all..

Typical Boris Diaw. His fatass is too lazy to ever contribute consistently. I hate bringing down players on our team but I also hate players who don't give effort.

I said Spur fan reaching for silver linings is funny and you took offense. If any silver lining is good to me, it's Neal. Spurs need Neal to win like it or not. He is a big time playoff X factor and if he is getting healthy and in rhythm that bodes very well as he is a guy who can win you a playoff game or two.
Spurs need to withstand the inevitable 3rd quarter opening spurt from OKC.
If they can last those 6 minutes, it should be a pretty close finish. I'm not super confident though.

To elaborate, I don't think the Spurs are contenders right now, but if they aren't, then no one else is besides Miami. We're probably the only team that can give them a run over 7 games. Of course I'm worried. Manu isn't 100% and we don't have nearly the cohesion that we did last year.
But again, those things have a habit of fixing themselves. I think if we're healthy, we're the best team in the West and probably stand the best chance to make the Finals. That's all I can ask of a team that was supposed to be too old to compete back in 2009.

I don't disagree with that overall with the exception of the Spurs not being healthy and playing well. I don't know with everything going on that they will fix themselves and I am not confident of that. Could it happen? Absolutely, but right now, Spurs don't appear to be able to beat OKC but that could change rapidly (which I do hope for).

Parker hasn't been right since he got back from the injury. Before that, people would criticize him for hogging the ball. Now he's being criticized for giving the ball up too much. His shot was around 60% before he got hurt; now he is shooting poorly.
