The LOL was that you used "exactly" to modify, "perfect".
nevermind...
You sound like G. Gordon Liddy. He used to rail about people modifying words in just the manner you mentioned. "Pretty awesome." Stuff like that.

I
I can't explain why the rules are as written, I just know what they are.

You can't explain why because those veiled rules are illogical. Therefore your God is illogical and not worth anyone's time.

Saving all is on His timetable. You put temporal limits on salvation that do not exist. If God chooses to save us after we die then that's His prerogative. It will be far more pleasant to be saved in this life, but I see no scriptural requirement for it to be so.

The truth is veiled for God's purposes, one of which is to show mercy on the evil people.....eventually. I wouldn't want to suffer the recompense that will precede it, however.

Oh cool, since we can be saved after we die, I'll go ahead and be evil in this life.

Blake

. Righteous anger is perfectly justified.

"Be slow to anger" doesn't mean don't ever be angry.

"Be angry and do not sin." Again, righteous anger is fine.

I am not angry that people don't understand. I am angry at those who mock, scoff, bait, and troll for entertainment. If we want to have a discussion where people truly want to learn my patience is unending. But teenage jackasses who act like morons get the sword pretty fast.

So you're saying you've lifted the veil?

If not you, then who?

Oh cool, since we can be saved after we die, I'll go ahead and be evil in this life. The veiled rules may not be logical, but they are what they are. The scriptures certainly give reasons. <ENTER KEY NOT WORKING> At least you are honest about being evil. Most people just say they are slathered in grace and can't help it. At least you choose it. I have more respect for that than just about any christian in any church. Just don't be surprised if your recompense is rather severe. Then again, since the notion of burning in a lake of fire doesn't stop the whoremongers and adulterers and liars in every church that claims Christ on the planet....recompense won't either.

Skull-1

So you're saying you've lifted the veil?

If not you, then who?
The veil is removed in Christ. What I have learned has been with the help of an Apostle (teacher), with some direct revelation thrown in. I resisted much of it myself early on but now I have spiritual eyes and can see--at least a little. If you can't see you can't see. That's all there is to it.

I just found it...turns out he was with someone in prison who did that. Broke his thumb. I heard a story one time that he was new to some prison and people were going to kick his ass. He was in the courtyard jogging for his hour of exercise. One of the guys that wanted to give him a beating took a dump right in front of the path he had been running. Liddy adjusted his gait so his foot landed squarely in the middle of the turd pile. It went SQUISH and some of it landed on the guy who did it. He then kept running without skipping a beat. Everyone decided he was nuts and mostly left him alone. LOL

An illogical God contradicts the notion that he is omniscient. Even more reason to dismiss Bible God.

So you believe your reward will be greater than the average veiled Christian?
Not really sure. I don't capitalize christian. It is only used about three times in scripture and twice it is an insult. So.... There are varied salvations listed in the Bible. Well, not listed--you have to find them. It doesn't really matter. Saved is saved as far as I am concerned and I get to answer for all my sins just like anyone else--and that will not be at all fun. You better hope I am not first in line for judgment or you will be waiting a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time. But COMMON salvation is not going to equate to that of the ELECT, whoever they are. (I can breakdown salvation by category later. I can't do it with a keyboard that won't flipping ENTER!)

Let me know how you feel about it. Works for me. No sense getting derailed at every turn. The season is about to start, too. I never insulted TGY until after he insulted me a number of times first.
I don't sling insults indiscriminately, I prefer to debate things without insults and only do that after being accused of things that I obviously am not. I tend to respect others opinions, because after all, they are just opinions no matter how much we like to think they are facts. But being accused of things like Manutard, Popsucker, etc., tends to irk me because it is the farthest from the truth.
In fact at first I was very critical of Manu and his unexpected failures in the finals, although I saw valid reasons for it which other posters have come forward and since pointed out.
It was only After being bashed and dealing with his ignorant accusations toward me, not just toward Manu, that I rose up to correct his inaccuracies and fallacies and this escalated as it did with you, TE, and killer. The Mexican food opinions didn't help matters either, rather inflamed things further.
And then of course all the recriminations over scripture meanings and usage just amplified things worse between you and I.
Even so, I never hold a grudge and try to get to a common ground whenever I can. With TGY it appears to be impossible simply because he has a definite point of view and will not even entertain the notion that maybe, just maybe, there are reasons that Manu had such a bad finals that TGY is not even taking into consideration. To my way of thinking, that is irrational and blind. We never stop learning in this life no matter how old we get, however if we do stop, then next we die.
The more we learn, the more we realize that there is even more we do not know and have yet to learn.
I am only telling you this, not to lecture you, but because I have read some rational posts from you, and believe that for the most part you are a rational individual who thinks beyond and outside of the box. You seem to me to be someone who does not take anything for granted just because someone tells you to.
For what it's worth I've tried reasoning with him like I am doing with you now, but he will have none of it.
I think "benefactors" post really said it all, and that is of the differences between the old guard and some of the new guard Spurs fans.
We old guard fans like to think we Spurs fans are classier than other teams fans like L.A., Mavs, etc. whether in actuality we really are or not.
And ironically I've defended both TGY, and Leetonidas too, on a couple of occasions after they were bashed by other ignorant posters and/or trolls.

Epic fail.

For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. 15Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. 16But when oned turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. - 2 Corinthians 3:14-16

There are many others. Answer why Jesus spoke in parables. Come on...

Improper exegesis of 2 Corinthians 3:14-15 could lead you to believe that. Paul was referring to the Jews which I am clearly not and he was referring to the veil over their hearts and minds, not over the scripture. This isn't the same veil that covered the face of Moses btw.

So no, there's no veil over the scripture. Sure you can find instances of the term "veil" being used and sure you can interpret it to suit your cause, that's what most of Christianity does with the bible anyhow, but no decent theologian or Christian apologist would suggest what you're suggesting.

No, I am quoting Christ. References to the veiling of scripture are ALL OVER THE PLACE You just don't want to believe it. The old wine is good enough.

"All this I have spoken to you in veiled language. The time is coming when I shall no longer speak to you in veiled language, but will tell you about the Father in plain words." - John 16:25

Jesus is speaking to his disciples saying that, although he had been using proverbs and parables, he will speak plainly. He's not saying the scriptures are veiled, as the NT scriptures didn't exist at that time, and he's not saying the OT scriptures are veiled. In fact, he's not saying anything is veiled. The word is being used wrongly by you. The KJV uses "proverb" and not "veiled" but I see you are chasing rabbits through the different versions to find a matching word. The proceeding verses state the following "His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God."

So you've failed in your attempt to show that the bible mentions scriptures being veiled. If you and cosmored aren't the same person, you're his long lost brother.

Already went through this. The Son can only do what He has seen the Father doing. So if Christ spoke in parables that means He saw God do that. And the Law and Prophets PROPHESIED until John.

"You search the scriptures because in them you think you will find eternal life. It is these that testify of me."

Prophecy. Testimony. Parable.

Game over. You lose.

The veils are there, but even when they are lifted there is no guarantee that understanding ensues.
Understanding esoteric truths need more than simple reading of written words, IMHO they need action to be fully comprehended because without action, they are just empty assertions with no substance backing them up.
