Is Kawhi too deferential?

I have seen most of the first three games and I have to say, while his numbers have been decent, Kawhi is still playing a bit like a boy and deferring way too much. I want him to break out but for some reason, he's holding back or being held back. Maybe this guy is just too young to make a jump to the next level. I hope I'm wrong. Thoughts?

He's averaging 14 PPG in 30 mpg, he's hardly struggling lol. It's the beginning of the season and he's playing a role he never has played in the first few games of the season. Teammates will learn his strengths/weaknesses as they gain chemistry and he'll get much better as the season goes on. People who were expecting him to dominate right off the bat have too high expectations, it's a slow process and I believe he will eventually get there.
