Duncan is 10 wins away from his sixth ring. How far is your boy Kirbs, Elias?
...and after getting skunked 16-0, he is still 10 wins away. :lol

Yeah, but Kirby is shooting 0%.
Duncan wins again, per par.
Dung-kin matched him. Kobe played 12 less minutes doe! :lmao

Normally I dont condone this behavior but you reap what you sow ...some of the Spur fans here took great joy in watching Kobe play hot and cold this year ...now Duncan is struggling on a much bigger stage.
real talk always tough to see the great ones go out like this ...

not sure what's more pathetic tbh-
a. laker fan not understanding that Spurs are contending (very seriously) for a title without their HoF big man, indicating a masterfully orchestrated transition between players
b. laker fan comparing stats between an active player in the playoffs vs a retired one
The Spurs are obviously much better run than the Lakers and I already said Duncan was the greater player ...what does any of that have to do with this?
Only reason I even find it "funny" (trust me Lakers have so many problems tough for me to care all that much about what Dunacn is or is not doing) is that Spur fans on here were having so much fun watching Kobe struggle.
So if Luva Kool whomever want to fire back there well within rights.
These last few games for duncan and these past few years for Kobe really doesnt detract (for me) from their greatness.

Not tough at all, one is contributing on a team contending for a title.
The other is destroying a team who historically always contend for a title.

Take away the hate for a moment.
Let's be honest at times the Spurs have been better off with Tim on the bench.
Even when we thought Tim was in decline back in 2008 you would have NEVER said that.
When he didnt make any aLL NBA teams a few years ago you would still not say that ...
You can deflect to Kobe if you want... (And I still think Timmy has a 20 and 10 left in those knees btw I would have said 30 and 10 a week ago but reset expectations because he looks injured to me ...)
But to see Tim be not only ineffective at defending pnr which has been the case for a while but to struggle finishing as the roll man on offense that is sad for me ...because he was always money. In what world is Steven freaking Adams a better finisher in pnr than Tim Duncan? such a world shouldnt exist and I would rather see him retire ...just as Kobe should have 3 years ago.
We used to get the ...
power dunk
the flipshots while he was still rising
the floaters while on the way down
the bankers
Now when he rolls and tries to finish it looks more the bad version of Dwight Howard than McHale 2.0 ....

He was that is why I think he is hurt who could cliff dive that quickly?
But I did think you were being a bit naive when Harlem was says state has less liabilities in their top 7 ...because so far Duncan he is still a plus at rim protection if not defending pnr and a plus at setting screens but scoring and finishing at the rim he has been a liability ...

No he wasn't. Pop has done a great job in masking Jim's pathetic play for two seasons now. The media has co-signed it. Now that they no longer have Kobe to shit on they're praying Jim will retire.

this is fair- not saying trolling is exclusive to lakers fans, there are plenty of garbage fans no matter what team/forum you go to. i guess bottom line, enjoy these players while you can- its fun to be competitive/throw around stats as a fan, but this could be the last series that we're even seeing duncan on the floor. like you said, kobe will always be great, duncan will always be great- i'd rather enjoy the games vs spiltting hair over who had the "better" career :toast
and btw i don't mind the firing back, just wish more people actually posed an argument/had coherent takes like you just did

Agreed. And i gave up that fight a few years back. Only thing i would even argue now is that its closer than Spur fan will admit ...
But right now i dont even care ..
.i just want to keep our pick, draft a young asset and sign some solid vets ...
no more star chasing not even Durant.
If he wants to come, ill gladky give him the max and let him help choose his team-mates.
But i think begging dudes that dont wanna be here is stupid

true again, i would say the two are pretty equal in terms of how much they impacted the game in their playing careers. personally, i was a bigger duncan fan than kobe fan, but #24/#8 had the most fluid game i've seen till date. agreed on your points regarding free agents as well- fit is so much more important to consider vs big names

duncan is a true great.
The better team-mate.
The more consistent Finals player.
Easier to build around
Much better shot selection
All those things favor Tim and why I give him the edge career wise, but yet and still for some reason Tim has never captured the imagination of NBa fans. He just was a truly great player and best big overall since Kareem ... but even if tonight is his last game (and a bunch of stories will come out how is the greatest player of this generation) he never resonated the way Kobe did. Kobe probably has more haters/detractors than Duncan has total fans yet his fans ... the ones bigger than me ...fight fiercely to protect his legacy ...it's crazy even to me as a Laker fan and kobe apologist. The need to tear down LeBron duncan or even shaq/Pau to elevate Kobe is crazy. It's almost like the PS4/xbox one fanbois. Both systems are great (i have Ps4)but no need for me to hate on XBONE and I dont despise Duncan/Lebron etc. All are truly great players.
But to hear some here tell it Kobe was Iverson or VC and was just carried by Shaq and Pau which is just stupid. but is wht this debate has lingered here so long but I refuse to do it anymore.
I used to tell amb we would revisit the matter once Duncan retired ...but I just dont see the point. Both are in my top all time top 10 ...Duncan is just a little higher. I prefer to doo it this way ...
All time Team
1st team
C Kareem
PF Tim
SF LeBron
SG Jordan
PG Magic
2nd Team
C Shaq
PF dirk (debatable used to have KG here)
SF Bird
SG Kobe
PG steph (debatable used to be Isiah)
C Hakeem
PF KG
SF Pippen
SG Wade
PG Isiah
Revised this to bump down the ringless: Charles/stockton/Malone and they are still great and have cases but to me you have to lead a team to a title as at least top 2 player to make this list.

That's why Kobestans are stupid and cannot be taken seriously. Has the year gone by already? Is 12 games a full season?
Karl Malone had a twelve game stretch in 2002-03 season (games 9 to 20) where he shot 39.1% from the field. He shot 38.2% from games 13 to 24.
Just stupid people drawing stupid conclusions with incomplete data sets.

Using one game sample is as stupid as it gets.
On the other hand, only 8 HoF guards shot 25% or less in a finals game.

Yup, defense ability is nothing compared to the ability to score.
You forfeited the argument that Kirby played defense years ago and you expect us to do the same? No way, Duncan was an elite defensive force till the wheel fell off.

Kudos to Pop. The Spurs are winning despite his putrid shooting numbers. Let's be honest here: he is downright awful this year. Even Manure and his 44.9% is better. At least det TOSF is still in the top 116 (http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/field-goals/sort/fieldGoalPct/count/81) in FG%. :lmao at me having to search thru 3 pages to find where he stands NBA-wide. Only 13 players shoot worse.
