I'd like them to bring up Josh Howard if only to show Leonard how to play like a wing player with balls should play.

Leonard is just a bad fit on this team. Hes not a spot up shooter, which the team is trying to make him be. He can't play in the Tony Parker system. Its on Pop and Parker to recognize this. Leonard has shown up in the Finals so he has "balls."

He had balls. He's way too tentative out there. It's not all on the team and the system.

I know we are a Top 5 record in the league, but we really suck right now and it's not fun to watch even when we win. Can we trade everyone except Tim, Manu, Boris, Baynes and Belli and get a early first rounder?

I'm ready to see something drastic done, tbh. I'm not down for the current "Eistein definition of insanity" direction. The shit we're doing now isn't gonna evolve into championship ball so lets do something crazy instead.

It makes me really sad to write this out but man, the way we are right now is painful. Something's gotta give. We gotta be either aiming for a chip or building for the future at all times. We do not sit still as an organization. We do not stay a bad course. This aint no Jerry Jones ball club. Something's gotta change.

I can't claim to know what, but something's gotta change. I just know I want Tim to retire here, and besides that, I want change.

No one can say he's a bad fit after seeing what he did last year. The potential is there.

That's not a goal that will get us a championship then. This team badly needs home court more than any other elite team.

We won 60+ games in 2011 and our tired/injured team got bounced in the first round. The same year, the Bulls lost to the Heat WITH homecourt in the conference finals. Heat lost to the Mavs WITH homecourt in the Finals. Homecourt's great but it's not worth killing your players over...especially with the fragile international guys on our team that routinely play summer basketball.

Hold it together this year, make a move and go for it one more time. Then blow the whole thing up.

We were one rebound away last year. We just need one piece. After this year then blow it up.

You're right. Another point worth mentioning to further strengthen your argument is that we are actually playing better on the road this year. We simply coast too much at home.

I'll give it till the All Star game, there will be a good window to rest and for everyone to get ready for the real part of the reason where teams start to show up regularly. Pop called the team soft and said the defense was crap but that's really on him, he's in charge of the rotations, he see's who's playing hard out there and yet he continues to muck it up. He doesn't get on anyone about defense at all, at all.. same look from him the entire time. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that we lost our assistant coaches who were probably in charge of that shit more so than pop, he farmed it out to them and Boylen and Udoka don't know shit about what they're supposed to do.

Kawhi doesn't look like he fits into the system anymore and Danny Green looks like the scrub that was at the end of the Cleveland Bench. This team needs to switch identities soon or we'll be out in the 2nd round.

Again, they are trying to make him a spot up shooter and they are running the Tony Parker system where he's being ignored.

I know you like to put stock in regular season games, but he showed up in the biggest stage of his career (minus the Game 6 free throw) while Parker and Manu were choking against one of the elite championship teams. Just saying its early to claim he has no balls. He's been shit this year though. Not sugercoating it.

But would you say we'd beat the heat in another game 7 at Miami this June?

The current system we are running is making him look awkward. Part of his struggles has to do with his role in the offense. Maybe they are trying to hide him a bit and they will go to him more in the playoffs. He looks great when he's given the ball instead of waiting in the corner.

Despite the shit loss tonight I'm almost certain we beat the Clips on Saturday. Pop is going to run their asses ragged tomorrow tbh.

Lots of Tiago on the bench against the Clippers, I somehow hope Ayres never touches the court but Pop will run him out there... Lots of talking about the team being soft but the rotations keep dictating soft lineups so what do you expect.

Yup and continues to run out Danny Green who can't guard a parked car, benches Tiago because he can't extend the floor and defend the perimeter and doesn't get angry at shitty defensive play

I've said it before but I get a coach's son sort of vibe from Ayres. I have a feeling he will be getting burn even in the playoffs because of Jim Boylen :bang

Yes, a lot of this has to do with the fact that our assistant coaches are all gone.. None of those fools know anything about Spurs basketball and Pop doesn't have it in him to teach them.

Looking back that summer was so disgusting...

The killer Tiago extension that keeps him in the starting lineup no matter what... Beli who was not needed, we needed a SF... Ayres, well you know...

The issue stemmed from the off season. The Spurs FO had a big time opportunity to improve the team, but made some questionable moves. Luckily, Gino looks great again which is a nice surprise and Beli has been a very good fit for what he is. He's in a role that he can't be ultra successful in (starter on a team that can't cover up his defensive shortcomings), but he's playing well overall.

I still believe that TP/Kawhi/Green have so much more upside to improve to last years form (even TD although he's playing well overall), but the Spurs could have used this off season to really improve and they didn't. We will see how it plays out over the course of the year, but despite the record it's clear there are plenty of things to be concerned about.

Sunny side: No one in the West is without major flaws. There is no MIA in the West. There are plenty of good teams, but no one that is scary. Doesn't mean the Spurs will roll, just that they have a good shot at getting back to the finals if healthy and they get good match ups.

Spurs have pieces that could be shopped to fix their flaws but too far into the season to be a viable option. Hopefully Tim/TP wake up in the 2nd half of the season and Manu stays injury free.

Yep, they took the week off.

I saw it as a perfect opportunity to move up in the standings. Spurs don't take advantage of wat should have been a blowout win.

maybe he just can't play with parker on the floor. dude gets the ball and just holds it until the shot clock winds down so he has an excuse to take a shitty shot at points in the game.

I'm frankly disappointed for the loss, and the only bright line I can see is that it was time for the team to realize they're plai yng really really average also if with a very good record.
No team is weaker than the Knicks at this point of the season...and we lost with them at home.
Incredible.
Pop will have an easy task to make people come back on earth.

p.s. if Parker need one or two month's rest, so be it...in any case we should be able to go to the play offs also without him and at this point looks like this Parker's not the one that is making us winning games ...

6 years of winning regular season records = result: 0 titles
1 year of an above .500 regular season record = result: ?

can't keep doing the same thing and expect the different results.

The Knicks played the way they were supposed to be playing all season.

They had 4 days to prepare for the Spurs and made them pay.

I doubt they play this well against the Rockets and Mavericks coming up.
