Translation: You don't have an answer to my inquiry. Tell me the specific moves that could have been made or just admit that you don't really know......

Great teams can sometimes get old and lose the ability to get over the top.

The Spurs are really beat up right now and have been most of the year. Their good W-L record will allow them to make the playoffs fairly easily. They have almost three months to get it together.

I'd have made an inquiry to Aminu who could play the 3/4 spot, tell manu we love you but you're not 2/14Mil worthy.. 2/10 mil.. not even give ayres a second thought. Maybe put in a phone call to Blatche to see if he'd like to make a little more than 1 mil a season

See you next time :)

Manu has had a pretty good year, but old guys break down.

The FO rolled the dice with him because of the deep playoff run and hoping he'll get well again.

Sometimes players run out of gas when they get old.

I understand why the FO went the direction they did out of loyalty to people who have historically delivered.

It's not a crime to get old and over the hill. We may be at that point with Manu, but he still has flashes of great play. He just can't bring it on a consistent, nightly basis anymore. That's why there aren't many 36 year old shooting guards in the NBA.

Ask Kobe how his 35th year on the planet has worked out so far. Not as well as Manu's.....

In the past few years, we've been linked to players like Josh Howard (when he was still a proven player), caron butler, who said he would've liked to have played for the spurs but that they didn't show much interest and he chose the clippers, where he gave them some useful minutes. They've also been linked to Omri casspi, who is a decent backup wing, derrick Williams, and Greg oden who seems poised to give solid minutes as a key big off the bench for the heat. Not that any of these players are world beaters but they are much better than the d leaguers we currently have off the bench.

I don't mind having Manu, he's a player maker when healthy and a catalyst for the 2nd unit but he's not worth 7 mil at his age.. 5mil tops and thats generous.

I was proven wrong, congrats man.

After tonight I came to the conclusion that the Spurs are meat in the playoffs not just against the Rockets, but also the Thunder and Blazers. The Clippers also have a great chance at knocking them out.

I live around 40 minutes from sac and can confirm they love the guy over there. Solid role player who can spot start and fill the stat sheet every now and then.

At 6'8 with a 7.1 wingspan at the age of 22 with his athleticism whats not to like, very solid bench guy who could potentially become a starter.

I know we will have problems in the playoffs if we don't get Portland, San Antonio, GS, or Pho. bro - but it wont be because of D12. It will be due to crappy coaching, crap bench, no back up 5, pt guard by committee, inconsistent mid range and 3 pt shooting, and girly defense.

Dwight Howard is a bad ass and he is better than any player on the Spurs roster (not career-wise - but present day)

LOL at Manure-mental midget dunking and pulling a hammy. Does he not know that he's 78 yrs old :lmao

I am concerned about a ton of things regarding this team in the playoffs too - grit, toughness, defense, dead-eye shooting or lack of, coaching, 3 pt land drying up etc etc. We can't beat the Pacers, current griz, trouble with current kings except when cousins and gay were injured mid-game, trouble against clippers, mavs., thunder (sans westbrook too!).

Son, he struggles against a 37 year old Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan is a GOAT player but come on, that's a bit embarrassing.

I'm terrified of a matchup with the Rockets. Then again, I don't feel confident in the Spurs right now. And the injuries keep piling up.

Bad games happen. You can't seriously judge him on one bad half game. He finished with 23 pts over TDs 12 pts. Rox do NOT win that game without Dwight. I don't think that is embarrassing at all - most of his shit was snake-bitten luck where easy shit was rimming out and going half in and back out. Certainly not embarrassing even against 80 yr old TD. Ok, if you believe that then I respect that, but I'm hella glad he's on our team fo sho.

Why? So he can choke and break down when it matters? Tim can get into his head without even talking to him. Howard can't handle adversity. He's a clown that gets by on making excuses and his decent athleticism. And Howard was sent to the line for about 10 or more of those points. LOL @ his 5-15 shooting from the floor.

LOL - ok, I already told you if that's how you feel - I respect that. Nothing I can say to change that. However, I still feel that you'd probably choke on your own saliva and die if the Spurs had landed him this past offseason. Don't lie.

Ok, devalue Asik - you are such a homer bro. Asik is the # 1 center in the league behind D12. Garcia has been playing crap lately - I'll give you that - but he can still defend and hit a 3 here and there. Smith is a board monster and a rim enforcer. Splitter is average and G and K are nice but at the end of the day you roll with what you got bro.

Not really. I for one like players who actually show respect for the game and don't act like clowns whenever they make a simple dunk in a regular season game. Duncan is a 4 time NBA champ, 2 time MVP, and 3 time Finals MVP, when have you ever seen him act like an idiot after a dunk? I just don't like showboating players.

I watch every game and have not seen him show-boat. That is not what he does. Yes, TD has Pedigree bro - but accept that his better days are in the past. take care roberto

i feel like this game was lost in the last few minutes of the first quarter. once Dwight went out the game, Jones went off and the crowd got back into it. Little turning points like that can swing the game, especially for an undermanned home team. The energy early on was great and the crowd wasn't into it at all

This place is amazing. We've got the third best record in the league, and now have some injuries, so we're beginning to lose some games as can be expected. Fortunately, none of the injuries are season-ending, so the doom and gloom is greatly out of proportion. This is not a BAD season as some have said. We're so spoiled as Spurs fans.

but even then I think we were still down. playing better no doubt, and with better energy but the defense was still struggling. our defense after the first like 7-8 minutes of the first was just non-existent for the most part.

As soon as we were rolling with Ayres in the 1st and 2nd. Then insert Bonner. The rest is history
