You know I was against even thinking of MWP coming here but actually it could be beneficial. If he can board, and be a defensive threat than why not? Maybe bring some grit and toughness. Cannot measure what he did in NYK country cause well they suck.

I'd love to have him on this team for cheap.. we'd have a tough smallball 4. Our frontcourt is really pussy soft...
He's be good for the right price.

Blah blah blah, we not signing anyone at all. Spurs are the Spurs, time to move on and go to the real season I said a million times!
MWP sucks. He can't shoot anymore. He's slow. And he is a high risk for imploding on the team. No reason to even consider this guy.

Funny. You remind me of those "basketball fans" that assume because someone was good 8 years ago, they are equally good today. You probably thought Tracy McGrady was a big signing last year. The only reason why you want to sign Artest is because of what he did in the past. He hasn't been good in how long? So who's living in the past? Forget that Artest admitted to having a mental illness, which makes him liable to go off the reservation at any minute. He can't shoot threes and he is too slow to guard Lebron and Durrant, so that's why the Spurs have no interest.

The point is that as of now we still have a spot available. Ther's anybody out there possibly better than MWP ?
I don't buy that the FO will go to the play offs with only 14 spots covered.

I would take Jamison over MWP. Jamison can still shoot and he can guard 4s. He fits into the small ball lineup. He's old, and not optimal, but I'm much more comfortable with him at the 4 than Artest.

MWP might be done but I think he's still capable. I'm in for the Spurs to sign him.

Can Ayres catch a pass?

Wasn't going against your reasoning as I agree that Ayres is crap, but I think mwp is not a significant upgrade. The fact that we're talking about getting mwp frightens me!

Oh and if we're going by fg% mwp averaging barely 40% the past 5 years.

Didn't look too shabby earlier this season against the Knicks. I don't think he will hurt this team.

The most you post Artest in this manner the more I question your B-ball knowledge tbh..

MWP aint coming to be a hero. Thats not what we're looking for. He would just be a sub for a young sf with bad knees. I know basketball, an yes I love players that use to be good that's not scared of the moment! I bet TMac wouldn't have came up short like Danny Geeen in game 7 if giving a chance!!! A serviceable 10 to 15min sf is what MWP would be. Nothing more nothing less.

Artest without both arms and legs is still 10X better than Ayres... And I am not joking.

TMac scored zero points in the 2 months he spent with the spurs.

TMac's whole career is about coming up short in the playoffs. Or better said, coming up short in the first round of the playoffs.

Ya'll remember in the early 2000s the Spurs internet forum was ablaze with talk on acquiring Artest from the Bulls?
Just amusing its come full circle. Ghostwriter and Spursfan must be chuckling reading these threads.

Sign him, if he plays like crap or becomes a distraction to team waive him. Pretty simple. Unless the Spurs are hoping to land Ben Gordon if he gets bought out Metta isn't a bad sign on the vet min.

What are the odds of Ben Gordon getting bought out, sort of forgot about this scenario.

McGrady did that in the regular season. He prenially choked in playoffs. I'm not trying to troll you but McGrady was overrated and by the time we got him, he had lost his NBA level talent.
