Early Winners, Losers in Free Agency

• Washington: Working without a first-round draft pick — again — Washington has hit the ground running in free agency. The star of the show so far is Jason Hatcher, who not only is coming off an 11-sack campaign but left Dallas for D.C., something that will delight Redskins fans. Hatcher excelled in a 4-3 with the Cowboys and has to move into a 3-4 with Washington so there could be some hiccups, but he’s a load up front.

Washington has complemented that move with some crafty work elsewhere. Andre Roberts could be a breakout star paired with Pierre Garcon at WR, while Shawn Lauvao bolsters the O-line. Tracy Porter’s best days may be behind him, yet he has a chance to rebound as a slot corner.

For a franchise that has too often thrown money around haphazardly, the start to free agency has been measured and well-done in Washington.

Yeah its retarded that we didnt address safety but hopefully a beast like pryor falls to us at 34. Meriweather was our best safety which isn;t saying much at all considering the dogshit we have back there. When he isn't head hunting, he is decent though but i wouldve passed on him. 1m aint bad though for a shitty stop gap i guess.

Hall actually had his best year as a redskin and was one of only 3 players who did shit all year on defense (orakpo and kerrigan). He balled out for us and at one point even had more touchdowns scored than our entire offense combined rofl. His PFF rating is skewed because of shit safety play but he was great last year. Wilson sucks dick tho (see 9er game) and Amerson had an up and down rookie year at CB. Our secondary gonna be dogshit once again though even with an improved pass rush. We desperately need a game changing safety like a Clinton-Dix or Pryor

This way they can keep Revis on the top receiver, have Browner shut down receiving TE's, which frees up Collins to cause havoc in alot of other ways, doesn't force Mayo to suck ass in coverage like usual, and keeps Hightower as a more athletic Spikes type run stuffer. This is the only strategy where I like the Browner signing. If they just plan on putting him against faster receivers, I think that will fail and will make the hole at safety a real problem.

IMO the priority at this point should be resolving the Wilfork issue one way or the other, finding a starting center not named Ryan Wendell, and adding a weapon at tight end other than Gronk. Connolly was a beast at C in 2011, I'd say draft a guard early and move him back.

By bringing in passrushers like Wooldey, Tuck, Antonio Smith (will be an interior rusher), and now trying to go after Jared Allen, it seems they are trying to fill the pass rushing need, instead of going after Khalil Mack/Clowney. I don't think signing James Jones is enough to deter them from taking Watkins if he is "their guy" but QB is the one position we haven't addressed.
