Yeah, these Denver commentators are horrible. Literally said Tim Duncan deserved a sprained ankle because he was hopping after he disagreed with a call and landed on Kawhi's foot.

Man, just freaking rest TP the rest of the regular season. With this win tonight, Spurs are in pretty damn good shape. If he's at the point where he's still gassed and you were willing to rest him 3 weeks, why not rest him now when the record is great? He just doesn't have it and rest is the only cure here it seems unless he's just actually injured more than they are letting on.

Or maybe he isn't injured at all? Tony seems to coast when the games don't really matter and aren't tight. I really see it as a lack of effort.

Eh, I don't think he's really even trying right now. He knows we don't need him to destroy the defense, he's just out there sucking up minutes and staying in game shape.

By the end of the night, we'd only be up 3 games over OKC and still have to play them one more time along with the Dubs and then Pacers...you lose those 3 games and OKC has the tie-breaker. NO DEAL.

I don't know. It's really hard for me to believe that when he's had such a drop from his level of play last year. To the point where he needed an extremely long time off for a "non-injured" player. Even after that, he still looks gassed and is still getting rest and really has not played well.

I don't think the coasting card is accurate. I thinks he legitimately tired or hurt or just slumping badly.

Yeah and there's no indication Pop wants to rest TP for the rest of the season because the stakes are too high right now unlike the last time he gave him that time off because there were still many games to be played. Also, Pop surely didn't think we'd win 14-15 games in a row back then.

No amount of rest will heal TP. The damage is already done. TP's body is 40.

He's already stupidly overworked himself playing Euroball for over a decade, after telling the press he wouldn't repeat Manu's mistakes.

Well guess what, he did repeat them, and between both Manu and Parker's extra basketball, they've cost the Spurs two extra titles or so.

Hope it was worth it.

Well guess what, he did repeat them, and between both Manu and Parker's extra basketball, they've cost the Spurs two extra titles or so.

Tony has been playing professional ball since he was 19, and with the Spurs that means 90 to 100 games per year. That's a bit different from Duncan et. al. who only played college ball until they were 22 or 23. Plus, Elias Sports reports Tony running further per game than all but one other point guard in the league, and running faster than any other point guard except two.

So Parker has run further and run faster than anybody on the Spurs team for the last 12 or 13 years. But I'm just sure you're right…it's only because he played ball for his home country (how DARE an athlete play for a reason other than MONEY) for the last couple of years!!! Thank god you pointed that out to us. Oh, and by the way, he has consistently been one of the best performing point guards in each of the last 10 seasons.

Other than those few points, I think your observations are a great contribution to the forum, honest!

I'm actually glad this happened. Now, when we go to Denver, we'll just play a more complete game and blow them out like we should have tonight. A win is a win at this point...and the Paper Clips just lost! One less team to worry about grabbing #1 overall.

TP's regression this season is pretty hard to watch. Worse than Duncan and Ginobili...just like in the mid-2000s when we were winning titles. Hopefully, Timmy and Manu can step up in the playoffs and carry the team to a title cause I'm not expecting much from Tony right now.

He rested on a non back to back against PHI and tonight is not a back to back.

Look I also think you are over-reacting. He hardly took any shots in the first half because they weren't needed. Also, if you notice, he was often not in the pg position in the first half. Someone else was bringing the ball up and taking the ball into the offensive set. I think he is doing what he is always doing, i.e., whatever Pop's game plan is for the night. And frankly, if Pop wants to find out if the team can play with Parker basically taking a lesser role, now is the time to find out.

One last point…the two starting guards for Denver have been shooting less than 25% most all night. Parker has been playing good D…maybe focusing on it.

He takes fewer shots tonight than Duncan, Ginobili or Mills and he is STILL accused of hero ball by some folks on this board. The guy cannot please this group and that is all there is.
