This loss only makes me fear the Rockets even more. It took a miracle for the Blazers to pull this game out of their ass. Houston literally handed it to them. Portland is going to need 3 more of these to win the series. They'll get MAYBE 1 in Portland. The Rockets should handle the Blazers in 5-6 games pretty easily. This series is not really that close. The only way it goes 7 is if Houston dicks around way too much, tbh.

He's probably slightly better than Jospeh, and I don't mean that as a compliment. I like his hustle, but he lacks real defensive talent. I see him as the PG version of Reggie Evans or defensive version of Patty Mills.
One of the most entertaining games I've ever been to. It was impossible to take a seat the entire time.
As usual, Mchale's idiocy showed...the guy is beyond a joke.
Regarding predictions, I'm sticking to my guns, rockets in 7.

Portland is a bitch and a half to beat at home. The good news for Rocketfan is that it's unlikely that LMA can sustain this level of play and energy on every game left.

To be fair, I think the officiating the Clips received is merely to extend the series. Without Bogut I honestly don't see the Dubs winning more than another game. Y'all will be playing 8 on 5 each game in the next round tho.

OKC's refereeing "advantage" yesterday was just an illusion created by Spurs fans because they hate the Thunder with all their lives. Memphis had no business winning that game even though they clawed back within two points because they shot themselves in the foot. However, I expect them to play a better Game 2.
Now I saw the game tonight and Portland was flat-out balling. The calls that the refs were giving to the Rockets were bad. It's like America was trying to appease Sino-American relations in the NBA Playoffs with those calls.

Nah, I agree with you about last night; Memphis lost that game in the first half. Still, the calls in the fourth when the Grizz gained momentum were terrible.

Rockets had no flow in this game. They kept shooting 3's (like they did in the reg season). McHale, you moron this is the playoffs and you still have no clue in making adjustments.
I still think they take this 6 tbh. LA was huge BTW.

Another 45/15 is maybe doubtful but for a big man with the skills and worldly talent of LMA's caliber, why not. Plus it's not like the Houston defense can do anything about it.
Oh come on... "skills and worldly talent" is just a just a bit too much don't you think? At the end of the day, he's just a fadeaway jump-shooting big man who had a really good game. Outside of Dirk, it's kind of hard to see any other big man that can replicate that kind of success on a constant caliber throughout the playoffs

That's their own damn fault for being unable to score against a playoff defense and needing the refs to bail them out....
For as much shit as the Clippers and RefKC get for flopping/officiating, at least both teams can score legitimately when they have to.... the Rockets are clueless when they're not getting every call, as evident from the first quarter....

i was just joking. I actually agree with what you said, NBA officiating, especially this time of year, puts me on fucking edge.
there is a chance though that Spurs might receive help. I think Silver genuinely respects the Spurs a lot, and Peter Holt was instrumental in him getting the job, not to mention Holt is one of the main nigs on the Board of Governors. But i agree, OKC and Houston get a lot of calls. Houston because of Harden, OKC is something else though. I think Spurs need to play one step ahead of that stuff so it doesn't bother them.

This. But less "hood".
Dwight played well Despite some shaky possessions and FT's ...
Harden despite being crazy inefficient chucked his way to a decent game (those 3 straight 3's were filthy)
Lin hit some big shots ...
Jones provided energy ...
Parsons was a stud but bricked some hero 3's late ...
Rox relies way too much on 3's that come off shaky ball movement.
Feeding Dwight makes sense but that ugly hook going right and inconsistent foot-work make it far from reliable.
38 year old duncan is still a much betetr option on the block and it's not close. If he cant dunk or lay it in ... he probably a 33% shooter
Dat Harden defense. Wesley freaking Matthews was going AT dat dude ... they had to freaking switch Jeremy Lin at one point ...RIN!!!
I knew his defense was not good and that it is mostly the reach around (gay) after he gets beat is he main tactic but dat loss despite the 3's is on Harden. Wish I could pin it on Dwight instead ...

I don't know - he's pretty damn good. He was guarding a nice player and this went to OT. He grades out pretty well statistically as well.
Good defender but like others it really depends on how much latitude the reffing crew provides ...
Lebron/Iggy is a bit overrated on defense but do not have to rely on as much ref leeway to be effective.

It's pretty obvious they are mentally weak. It didn't matter last night if it was a legit call against them, or a bad call but every whistle you would think a Rocket player was just called for a Flagrant 2 and ejected from the game. It's a huge production for these guys any time something goes against them, almost like a high school kid looking for attention. Parsons, Lin, Jones, Asik, and Garcia aren't guilty of it but the "leaders" of your squad are attention whoring grandstanders. Make a somewhat important 3? May as well start the JR Smith celebrations! Right Harden? Get called for an obvious foul at half-court? Probably best to run away and start clapping like a 5 year old. Called for a foul under the basket? Why not walk around with that big cheesy ass smile on your face and throw your hands up for a full minute while playing to cameras Dwight?
These guys have 0 mental toughness, with the possible exception of Beverly. The rest of them are ESPN products with 0 winning experience as #1 option in the playoffs outside of Dwight, and that 2008 season feels like a lifetime ago.
On the flip side, you have Portland that lacks the experience but is infinitely better coached and fundamentally sound. They may not win the series, but they are much better equipped than Houston to win a championship in the next few years with more growth from their core. I can't think of a more immature and flamboyant team than the Rockets. It's like a group of less talented Russel Westbrooks

Damn, Fajitas sizzling with that post. Yeah, the Rockets will probably never really mature until Howard gets over himself. This team feels like last year's Lakers, although significantly better. They want to believe they're a contender solely based on their 2K rating. They have no guys on that team with championship-level mentalities. They better hope the Heat break up after this season so they can steal a couple of Miami's role-players.

Houston is certainly immature, but their style of play limits them more than their mental weakness IMO..they ranked 30th in isolation success this year, yet they continue to run as many isolation plays as any team in the league..Harden is a top 10 player, but he needs to learn how to play a style of basketball that translates to team play and ball movement, which he has never learned to do, even in OKC..
McHale is obviously the other major problem in their offensive strategy, as is generally the case with the majority of coaches that were former players, tbh, their coaching strength lies with their motivational tactics, rather than X's and O's, unfortunately..
I'm sticking with my prediction that Houston won't contend this year, but will be a major player next year IMO, assuming McHale is fired(which seems like a guarantee if they lose the series to Portland)..

Dallas was a great defensive team in 2011..the Blazers are a poor defensive team, tbh(they ranked 17th this season, but they were one of the 5 worst in the 2nd half of the season, once opposing teams figured out Stotts's gimmick defense of allowing everything but 3-pointers)..

Dallas was a better team with a better coach and better players, their leader was playing on an unbelievable level as well.

McFail is a horrible coach, but it doesn't change the fact that Harden and Dwight are just too flawed to be franchise players....

Listen Kobe aside..when Dwight blew off mild mannered Nash and when Nash started yelling at him I knew he was a full blown retard....how do you refuse help from Nash when he's trying to help you work on your free throws....Dwight is a joke....

Just a ridiculous statement by the NBA. They choose to look at that one play and ignore all of the other crap like Howard elbowing Lopez in the stomach. They really want Houston to win. :lol

:lol You still don't get it do you...1.) Rox have no one that can stay in front of Lillard...he was blowing by Harden with ease....conversely the Blazers had more success against Harden by simply switching Batum on him....2.) anyone can guard Dwight these days..Dwight is NOT a serious threat..he's good for maybe 20 and 10 but those points are esily offset..3.) LA can actually put the ball on the floor and take Dwight or any big man they throw at him off the dribble...his only issue is when the double comes...if no double comes he can take the Rox big man off the dribble and get all the way to the rack...LOL@ favored in the play-offs when there is no clear cut advantage....4.) It's the play-offs when will yall learn the regular season doesn't equate...:lol

and 5.) LOL@the Spurs defense...they are overrated if I've ever seen a team...defenses cancel...Lamarcus will shit all over Duncan with glee and Lillard will have a field day with Parker...I like Parker it's no secret he's the only one I respect on the Spurs but that little frenchie can't play a lick of D...neither can Manu for that matter...

The NBA is sponsoring Harden & Howard just like they sponsor Paul & Griffin in Los Angeles. They are under the protection of Stern II and serve at his behest. The Media, initiated by ESPN and their affiliates along the line put the marching orders/talking points out day in|day out. It would take an act of God to suspend such treatment.
Yesterday, Easter Sunday ESPN kept the headline about the ref getting his hand smacked for that missed call on top of the headlines all day long. That wasn't goosed on accident I assure you.

They do a shitty job of protecting Griffin then, since he fouled out and only played 19 minutes :lol
By the way, you're being a pussy & asshole & blaming the officiating.
