How's the cliff-jumping going?

Seems like we won by 15 even though you said we lost in the 3rd Q. Hmmmmm.... will you ever learn that the game goes 48 minutes?

So who are you referring to? Quotes are there for a reason, mate.

spurs played sloppy but still score over100 points.....plus the TO's

22 turnovers and only 11 combined points from Diaw and Kawhi, and they still put up 110. This is why the Spurs are deadly.

I was replying to RobDiaz, but the quote had nothing to do with what I had to say so I skipped it, foolishly. But yeah, Robdiaz who always gives up any time the Spurs get down a few points and has ever since he came to ST. He's not the only one, but he is the worst cliff-jumper.

Those who give up early often are the ones who are too emotionally attached to the outcome. They appear to not care, but the truth is they care too much so they panic.

Duncan 21 and 10
Parker 19 and 8
Manu 16 points 5 rebounds 11 assists 3 steals

I'll take Manu as player of the game but all 3 were solid. Duncan will break Magic's career playoff double double record and have is way with the Heat inside. Parker played a nice patient game and caught fire late in a difficult matchup for him.

But Manu's early play was critical I recall 9 points in his first 5 minutes, disruptive defense, and just 1 turnover. $7 million a year is looking like a "steal" now tbh.

Stephen A. is an ass tonight! Miami wasn't totally responsible for all the Spurs turnovers - a lot of it had to do with the ball being so slippery, and even a few times players slipped on the wet floor and turned it over. And even if Lebron had been in the game, I doubt he could've stopped the hot shooting of the Spurs - and especially Danny Green.

Oh - and STOP WITH THE 2013 COMPARISONS ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right, especially about the emotional attachment to outcome. I just hate it though - fine to say they're playing poorly and if that doesn't change the game is over, but proclaiming that we've lost when there's 20mins left in the game is just defeatist bullshit IMHO.

Stephen Smith sucking Bron's heater.

Disjointed takes as usual from him, the heat probably fried his brain even worse. First he basically says the Heat only lost due to the A/C problem, then acknowledges the Spurs finally exploded and did what we all knew they were capable of against a thin Miami Heat team with more fossils on their roster than our Big 3.

Pop needs to bitch about turnovers and the petty passes that caused them

Knoxxx
06-05-2014, 11:20 PM
The "heat" aside, the Spurs can win this series. The turnovers can be reduced. Miami is good at trapping but they look less quick this year, and their disruption of the passing lanes looked less than OKC's. Spurs had too many bad passes and not enough movement. If they fix the A/C, I expect the Spurs to be less gassed and more mobile.

Heat's defense was nothing like OKC I thought as far as forcing turnovers. OKC FORCES turnovers, while we were making a ridiculous amount of boneheaded passes just handing the ball right to the Heat time and again. We could have attacked Miami more inside at tmes, but overall this series is looking like a route. I think we only play better from here.

It'll definitely be one that's talked about for years. But I liked Timmy's press conference comments - he said the heat affected everyone, and that he didn't even realize Lebron was hurting that bad because everyone was tired and hot. And he kinda quashed the idea that the Spurs would've lost had Lebron not left the game.

Thanks but I am also a blind homer. I will always figure out some scenario where the Spurs come out on top. I do believe in our players though, and also team ball and depth. I made a similar call after game 4 OKC when our bench wore out their starters heading into game 5.

After last year we proved we could beat the Heat and we will. I have never doubted that for a second.

I'm glad people are not buying into this Lebron crap. EVERY SINGLE PLAYER endured the same heat, yet Lebron is the only one who has to leave the game. And there's no way to say if the Heat would've won with Lebron playing because the Spurs just got hot at the right time - even Dewayne Wade said that!

It's real simple.

If our big 3 can match their starters production, our bench will smoke their bench --game over.

Hell, when we were down 7 I SMSed my friend that we'd need a miracle to pull this game out... sure enough, LBJ took those two bad long jumpers then left the game. Then Danny Green woke up and scored 8pts in a minute. TWO miracles! ;)

Umm, just saying, but ESPN is in full-on excuse mode for the King, LeBron, this morning on ESPN radio and lots of other outlets. Look, I understand he's the NBA's marquee player, but you're going to say it didn't affect any other of the players? Come on.

Spurs fans, we've now collected another asterisk in our legacy due to the malfunctioning A/C.

Everyone's dismissing the Spurs comeback, and only using the fact that he went out the reason being the Heat lost. I say we blow them out on Sunday, outside on an asphalt playground! Bring on the heat and the Heat!

If we win and win it by Game 6, there will be no excuses. The excuses will only happen if we win it in 7 but in the end, one must look at who was the better team for the majority of the series. If we win Sunday, we'll be in prime position to possibly close it out in Game 5. We'll see.
