and now ESPN can do what they want to do praise the awesomeness of Lebron, and the guy is great, but moreso the I told you so the Heat are the best team ever garbage until we can shut them up Tuesday.

Spurs lost the game at the free throw line missed 9. The 4 free throws in a row we missed cost us the momentum and ultimately the game. Anyone who can't see that has a problem.

WE WILL WIN GAME 3. we had this game early and when it looked as though we were gonna blow them out, we had 2 guys in foul trouble in the 1st half. refs know how to keep this shit close. but those 4 freethrows killed us. we'll win game 3

So the refs forced the Spurs to miss four free-throws? So the refs forced the Spurs to leave Lebron wide open when he got hot? Any player in the NBA can get hot; someone needs to guard better. The NBA sucks anyway compared to even a few years ago. Do you think Jordan's Bulls lose this game?
Really he's allowed to elbow his defender & the foul is on Kawhi or Boris! Bitch gets away with it all of the time! It should be an offensive foul but he's coddled so much by the nba that he's allowed to do whatever he wants! Rigged nba!

Not really amazing. Heat make championship plays, we don't. That's why they're gonna 3 peat.
Well, the Spurs are normally better than 60% at the FT line. Do you think the pressure of the game caused them to miss? Maybe...or maybe it was just bad timing.

Agree with this. Diaw doesn't have the mobility and quickness to guard Lebron. Wouldn't mind seeing him post up James though. Diaw has the size advantage there.
I haven't checked the minutes, but my first take was Diaw played too many and was gassed at the end. Manu also looked tired, we didn't do something stupid like play him the entire 4th quarter again?
Manu, at this stage in his career, should not and CANNOT play an entire consecutive quarter!
Something wasn't quite right tonight, but 3 of those FTs would have won the game. Hopefully we hit them next time.
Feel free to pin this one on Manu... the 2nd leading scorer tonight, +4, as many TOs as Timmy...
Gotta make freebies...
Still pretty much has zero chance to win fmvp anymore with this game, too reminiscent of 6...

If James is on Tony then we need to run plays in to Tim in the post.
Then Tim either goes to the hole or passes out for another shot.
Don't wait to see if Tony can figure it out.
Tony should be running all over keeping James busy if he going to shadow him.
Boris frustrated me to no end. He passed up way too many shots. He needs to be our floor spreading 4 out there, but he passed up shots. He's currently doing the same thing as he did last season in the finals. If he can live with his gutless play, afraid to shoot the 3 ball, then so be it. I couldn't if I was him.
This 1000xs. He needs ...to ...shoot...the....ball. that up fake dribble into the paint so frustrating. They are playing off of him and he still drives right into them.

It is funny, I missed game one and had this game on most of the night in the background (game of thrones took over). And honestly I am kind of bored with the finals. I don`t seem to be into as much as last year. I find the game has no meaning. The announcers are so biased it ruins it. JVG on that elbow to Parker was just stupid. It made me shake my head. Ah well....

All you guys that have called out Manu, shame on you.
He's got more guts than most of you guys will ever have. He doesn't crawl up into the fetal position like most of you guys do with any sign of adversity. Boris Diaw and half the other players on the team are scared to take open 3s. Manu has the guts to take a shot. What do you want him to do? Give it to Diaw or Kawhi or Danny? guys that can't do anything or a just too timid to create for themselves?
What the fuck do you expect of him? He's trying to win the game for the Spurs. Most of the players on the team can't create shit for themselves. Is that Manu's fault.
I know he fucked up with a bad pass and took a long three, but what do you want him to do?
I hope this ends the Diaw-on-James experiment. It only worked in one game (Game Five of last year's Finals). Pop needs to stop going to that and let Green guard him already.
To be fair tonight Lebron looked just as good if not better when Kawhi was on him...

Look guys - we all know the league wants this series to go 7 games. And you also knew LeBron was going to have a monster game tonight and that the refs were going to make sure he was able to put game 1 behind him. So is anyone surprised by the outcome? I mean, yes, the Spurs had several chances to win the game, and those 4 missed freethrows were probably the difference, but the Spurs only lost by 2, and there's a lot of room for improvement. The Spurs can win in Miami. Miami has continued their streak of not losing 2 games in a row, but they're not invincible. I still believe Spurs will win the series.

they are beign kept in foul trouble. it's hard to guard lebron when they are giving him fouls. this is going 6 or 7. we'll win game 3. i'm convinced. miami's offense is all lebron and open 3's. that's all they have. lebron got hot in the 3rd, but we got to make him drive. we just cant play off of him 2 feet giving him what is basically open jumpers. that's game 7 of last year defense. i know we'll win game 3. i'm positive of it. lebron drives and kicks that ball out 95% of the time when we sent a big at him. every time. we got to prepare for him.

Spurs would have 11 Championships too if playing against those teams you played against. Take off all of those rings and stop flaunting them as you probably have none if not for all of those hall of famers on your team playing against teams that weren't loaded with hall of famers.
Same deal as Miami. Give prime Duncan a Wade and Bosh and he'd be ringing non stop.

Both Kawi and Green provide Defense and Offense that spreads the floor.
After that, either Tony need to run his ass off to shake James or Manu need to run the offense.

There's a major difference between guarding a spot-up players and guarding an on-ball player.
Anyway, it's not a meltdown. The stats show Diaw's not good on James. I wasn't saying that as endorsement of the idea, but rather to underline how ineffective Diaw has been.

The Spurs are three plays away from having SEVEN championships, but WTF is with the choking. I am not impressed with Miami either, but the NBA is full of chokers. Everyone seems to forget how to rebound or shoot free-throws when they play Miami. The quality of play in the NBA is not good, at all. Lebron has no rival; there are only two superstars in the league. The other one is two tiers below the one who is playing in this series. Women's college hoops has more suspense than the NBA.

Cause the stats says Kawhi is good? He's like a knife running through butter out there... I suggested some Green on Lebron the other night but really this is far from the main priority... You can't stop Lebron... Actually making him work on D would make more of a difference than who is guarding him... People forget Durant was exhausted and played 45min a game while getting posted by Boris... And then again he still dominated somewhat...
The main priority is shutting down Bosh, Wade and Allen and finding a way to score inside again...

I see Manu, TP, Kawhi and Diaw getting killed for their play tonight but TD is getting a free pass. When you're the best overall player in franchise history and basically guarantee to win the championship this year, you don't miss two huge free throws in the 4th quarter, especially after you just saw one of your teammates miss two huge free throws. He also gambled late on defense and Bosh made him pay for it. While this was a team loss, if individuals are being singled out for choking, TD's name should be brought up too.

Kawhi pretty much fought James to a draw last game. I have a feeling the numbers are going to be bad for his this game, but qualitatively speaking, I feel Leonard just got unlucky to be caught in James' GOAT inferno. Diaw just doesn't have it physically unless James takes him to the post. Boris was poor on Durant last series as well. He's not a combo-forward anymore. Pop needs to go ahead and keep wings on James and let Duncan, Diaw and Splitter help.

I agree. NBA has tons of chokers. Spurs easily could have 7 rings, but we don't. We've pissed a few away. Lebron couldn't do shit by himself and had to go to a team with two other Superstars to be able to do anything. He's a great player and I used to go for Cleveland if the Spurs were eliminated from around 2008-2010, but as soon as he went to Miami, I never really went for him again. I think Miami have been let off the hook. They easily could have only had 1 ring so far even with the move of James, Wade and Bosh teaming up. They haven't impressed me at all and it pisses me off with the Spurs letting them off the hook. They also have a free ride to the finals every year with that weak Eastern conference. I'm sorry, but I'm not impressed at all. The Spurs players need to get their heads out of their asses and realize this too. Gotta be more confident mentally and play strong.
Does anyone remember Ray Allen up to his first playoff run in Boston? He used to be a pretty big playoff choker. He choked in the first few rounds of the Boston Celtics run in 2008 where they were going 7 games against inferior teams. He was missing free throws and all kinds of shit, but none of these teams could capitalize and eventually when they got to the finals against the Lakers, I don't think Ray could choke any further and he was able to turn it all around from there and have a good finals series. He's pretty much better from that point on, but he was a playoff choker before that finals series. He choked so much that the only place to go was up from there as no one could capitalize on it.

If any of the Spurs players have this in their heads, they need to get it out. Spurs played a great 4th and James wouldn't have stopped that run. The media is full of shit and trying to help James look better and at the same time get into the Spurs' players heads. Spurs won game 1. End of fucking story. I'm pretty disappointed in the team right now, tbh. I thought after how they lost last year, they've gotten over with hand gifting games away in the Finals to this team. If they're going to lose, make them earn it but not due to missed free throws in the 4th. I'm sure they're not mentally-defeated by any stretch and know they're the better team but they're really not showing any poise against the Heat in the 4th when they're at full strength and we can only hope they don't keep wasting away opportunities against them.

I think Pop feels Danny is doing a solid job on Wade, and he would hate to waste Danny's fouls on trying to guard Lebron. Danny is oftentimes too aggressive, and Lebron will get the benefit of the doubt.
That's why I don't see it happening. Diaw will cover Lebron whenever the Spurs go to the 2nd unit or Kawhi is in foul trouble.

I would say the damning thing about Ray is that he was garbage against the spurs last year except for Game 6. Every other game he was complete dog shit but so far in these 2 games he's been pretty good for them. On top of that he was garbage in '10 finals except for game 2 of that series from what I remember. Ray is a very streaky player where when he's hot he's really hot but when he's cold he's arctic cold. The fact he has always been a streaky player is the reason why he could never carry a team being the franchise player and had to accept a role as a third or fourth option on a title team.

I agree with that. All I was saying is that they guy was pretty much a straight up choker until that 2008 finals series. He didn't really come through much in the playoffs prior to that. Since then he's come up clutch a few times, but he sure as fuck hasn't been a clutch player his whole career like some people think he is. The Spurs players need to realize this and stop making him look good out there by leaving him wide open at times and they really need to exploit him on defense. Put pressure on him on both offense and defense.

I agree with you on this Slicer and Ice after that........... Good points.

I agree with everything you said. I remember going crazy in '10 when he couldn't come up big against the Lakers since I was rooting for the Lakers to lose that series. I just remember him melting in that series not coming through when the Celtics needed him to. Just amazing how the Lakers were able to scare this guy into choking despite getting owned by him in '08. The spurs need to figure it out against this chode just like the Lakers did in '10.

That slicer and they need to shut down Lewis, realize this dude is a bum and cover him! Do not leave Bosh open either late in a game for a wide open three! I know the Refs play a role as we talked about earlier tonight in the chat but all of what we said above is very true! Make adjustments the Spurs can win this thing, if not they will allow the Heat to threepeat.

I don't know, but I think almost every time that I wear my Spurs t-shirt at home before the games, we end up losing... Maybe I should put it in the laundry before the next game. :lol :hat

Game 1 and Game 2 came down to dumb luck. Neither team has truly dominated yet.

Lost the game at the free throw line per par. A flagarant on Tony and trip to the line for Duncan and they miss all 4 freebies. The names change but some things seem to stay the same.

The Heat will get their asses handed to them in Game 3. Book it.

Tim had a horrible night shooting. Those 2 missed crunch time FTs weren't even in the cylinder. and missed at least 2 point blank put ins, just like in Game7 last year and Game5 2005.

6-17 in the 4th quarter ain't gonna get it done. 4 missed freebies in a row ain't gonna get it done. Spurs lost a game they should've won, just like 6.
Yes, that shot to the face of Manu should've been called, but even then, the Spurs win if they hit their fucking free throws! :bang
Spurs MUST win one of the next two games or it's BDS time.

The Spurs has to get production from Green. He is very disappointing in this series.
