Yup...that was the stopper right there. Spurs cruised after that.

U notice when Lebron went to the bench the Spurs gave up part of our lead, when he came back in we expanded our lead.

LULZ, I wonder if the media will make a big deal about that.

When Kawhi and Danny are in the game and not in foul trouble we're pretty tough to beat. That was Kawhi's best game of his career so far, and Danny was fantastic too.

Refs tried their hardest to give momentum to Heat multiple times with phantom calls to the Heat and no calls for us, but we played through it and resisted 3 Heat runs to win the game comfortably. Superb bounce-back after giving away game 2.

I predicted we'd win game 3, and I'm calling it now, we'll win game 4 in OT, or lose on a last-second shot. We're deeper, tougher and better than them.

Parker, Ginobili and Duncan hardly did shit tonight. They better be on their game in Game 4. Kawhi and Green can't carry this team like that again. And I notice the announcers sound a bit disappointed in this win by the Spurs. They're being very courteous but aren't very amped about it like they were with the Heat in Game 2.

It's obvious why. They wanted a close game like game 2.

Yea, think again if you're expecting a win on Thursday. Just don't see Miami losing with the championship likely on the line if they go back 3-1. This will go back 2-2 but we accomplished our goal and have homecourt back

Prime Time

Also, a huge :td to anyone who thought the Spurs were going to just roll over and die after how long it took to get back here. I was afraid of Dallas/Portland/OKC, sure, but that was because of match-up issues. The Heat have nothing to throw against the Spurs that isn't named LeBron James. If Leonard can tire him out by attacking on both ends, there's no way Miami could last 48 minutes.

His second question was actually a half way decent question.

He asked them how they were so underwhelming on defense and offense, which is insinuating the Heat were all at fault for losing the game. Jordans' Bulls, Magic's Lakers and Birds' Celtic teams would've had a tough time coming back from that onslaught. Wade and Lebron did the right thing and clowned him. But Wade actually addresses the stupidity of the question later, saying when the Spurs hit shots, it's because of Miami's poor defense. But when they miss shots, it's because of Miami's great defense. It's always a combination of both. That's why that guy is an idiot and he got treated like one.

Why game 3 matters:

http://i.imgur.com/HZdZ9jl.jpg

It didn't matter last year but it pretty much took a total collapse in game 6 to prevent the odds from working in our favor. I think the Spurs are fine as long as they don't collapse again. They're holding the Heat to low 90's scoring meanwhile they can easily score 100+. They have to maintain the defensive intensity and they should be fine.

therealtruth
06-11-2014, 06:41 AM

We're at our best when no one is one dimensional and everyone can put the ball on the floor and make a play. The problem in the past was none of our guys knew what to do when run of the 3pt line.

Through first three Finals games, the Spurs have outscored Miami by 45 points with Boris Diaw on the floor.

What was that Pop/Leonard altercation about?

no altercation.

It was Pop POUNDING THE ROCK of his new star, congratulating him for being, encouraging him to be the star Pop knows he is.

That's a huge sign of respect earned from Pop..

If Danny keeps working on his floater and layups, he will be a very, very valuable piece. He already is, but if he added that consistently.. :toast

Yep, and that ability to drive will open up his 3 ball even more. And his D is excellent. Leonard, Danny, and Splitter our team's defensive future is pretty strong.

pop is motivating kawhi, he was probably doing everything they talked about in the 1-on-1 meeting after game 2 and pop is pounding his chest saying it can be done, you just did it. i get a little pumped just seeing it. bet pop got in his face later on in the locker room and yelled "THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT MOTHERFUCKER, GIVE ME THAT HEART AND PHYSICALITY EVERY GAME!"

almost as cool as when parker hits a huge shot and gets in his teammates faces yelling at them all pumped up.

Why game 3 matters:

It's a totally different year but the Spurs are one of those six teams, fwiw. But it's not the 2-3-2 series anymore either, I'd throw those stats out the window personally.

Exactly, it was Popp congratulating Kiwi on playing to his potential. :flag: :lobt2:

game 3 would be the first on the road, 2-3-2 or 2-2-1-1-1.

one of the 6 was the Pistons 2005, they won game 4, both blowouts, too, then then then ...... Game 5

The Pistons were not one of the 6. This is when teams are tied 1-1. Spurs went into Detroit 2-0.

Awesome game by the Spurs! Kahwi Leonard really stepped up. Not to mention Danny Green! He had 5 steals i think and those drives to basket got me cringing every time but they all pretty much went in, also that driving lay-up and-1 on Lebron James.

It definitely is their solid defense and ball movement that got them the big lead. However, there are moments when Parker came in, ball movement stopped!! I think Spurs were up 25 and when Parker came in, lead got cut to 15! Ball stucked too long on Parker's hand and the offense got stagnant. Parker did hit some key shots in the game. It's kind of weird feeling now, usually you want the best players on the floor but whenever I see Mills coming in I'm more comfortable and confident knowing he'll move the ball, hustle and hit those pull up shots.

Let's go Spurs and win the crucial Game 4!! I'd like to see how the Heat recover from a 3-1 deficit.

I just don't see the odds going against us 2 years in a row after 2 big game 3 wins. The basketball god's can't have that much shit left to drop on us.

Saying that the 2-3-2 vs the 2-2-1-1-1 makes a big difference in the original chart, not that the difference in which game was where...after all game three was in San Antonio last year.

At worst the Spurs should be able to swap wins with Miami. I'd be surprised to see them lose two in a row. We'll see.
