Well at least we have a mostly empty stadium with no parking to offer to them. I wish we could have named it the Henry Cisneros Memorial Boondoggle Stadium.

RE: Las Vegas/ My son was part of a contingent of mostly Libertairans out there who opposed the stadium on the grounds that the county and city would be on the hook for a lot of costs without getting ANYTHING in return, but the city council was all for it and the voters approved the bonds. I'm surprised that every investor pulled out but there has to be some underlying reason that wasn't disclosed.

Funny thing, the Alamodome has unintentionally been a good thing for the city

That's the reason why I want that stadium to stay away from Austin. SA can have the cool things. I'll drive down to enjoy whatever is there.

UTSA Football, son. There's the Alamo Bowl and Final Fours too.

I'm cool with the Raiders not coming (not that we had a choice) though. It's bad for UTSA football and the Spurs. Would much rather get an MLS team, tbh.

Also happens to be the majority in SA and South Texas. We are a good market for MLS, tbh.

I love the NFL, but MLS games are much more fun and affordable to attend (exception being that Jets-Colts MNF game we had where tickets were going for $5). 2 hours tops and easier in/out, and sport is actually better in person vs. football being made for TV despite most players not being household names.

SA could easily support an MLS team.

Screw the Raiders, we should have grabbed the Saints when we had a chance a few years ago right after Katrina. Benson was ready to move them too. Always thought the San Antonio Saints had a nice ring to it.

althought I would love to have a football team here, a soccer team or even baseball team makes more sense with the Latino fan base.

If we had an MLS team I would probably go to a few games, went to a couple Scorpions games and they were a decent time

Are they going to build the stadium on the other side of the wall? Maybe we can make Mexico pay for it too.

They were never coming any more than Red McCombs Vikings were

Fuck the NFL. No way this city should be giving a franchise a billion dollars to build a stadium. Let Las Vegas have them.
