Was about to do this after the 10th game but I forgot.
Who do you think was the mvp of the first 11 games of the season? Discuss.

Probably Duncan.
Game 5 onwards, Kawhi.
Everyone's off though so it doesn't really matter...

Saying game 5 onwards means that Kawhi was mvp for you for 6 games. So why did you choose TD instead?
Agreed. But we have to be happy with how they are winning with defense until everyone comes back fully healthy.

Tough call. I'd say Tim or Cojo. No one has very good numbers.

Tony still leads our team in scoring, however. :hat

Btw, Duncan is currently 7th in the NBA in blocks per game. That's absurd for how old he is.

Ya, it's Duncan and not even close, at the moment..
Duncan, Kawhi(since the rough start) and Joseph are the only Spurs that have played at, or exceeded expectations, so far IMO(Diaw lately, but started off the season poorly)..
Parker has been atrocious, Danny's shot is dead, Manu is struggling, Diaw has been slow, Baynes has been disappointing, Bonner and Ayres are being themselves, and Austin Daye has been one of the worst players in the entire league(negative PER :lmao)..yet the Spurs are 7-4 with wins @ the Clippers, Warriors and Cavs..:lol crazy..

Offensively, perhaps.
I think most of our guys are bringing it on defense this year. Tony actually looks like a more determined defender. Kawhi is making smart plays, Verde is locked in even if his shot is off, and generally around the rim we make smart rotations and don't pick up stupid fouls.
Honestly I think all of the gloom talk about how bad our players have been is kind of hilarious considering the Spurs are arguably the top defensive team in the league right now.
We've allowed the fewest PPG in the league, we're 5th in opp FG% and have held opponents to 27.5% shooting from outside the arc. Given how injured we were to start the season, it's safe to say that this team has been playing out of it's mind on the defensive side of the court.

Duncan, easily. Nigga's shot looks improved this season and he still looks mobile. Looks like 2013 Timmy out there so far

I agree, but the Spurs of the previous 2 years ranked in the top 3 in defense, along with being a top-level offensive team(they are currently ranked 24th, which is completely unexpected)..
If they can get the offense together, which should be a lot easier with Mills, Belinelli and even Splitter(his screens and pick&roll ability), this should easily be the best chance for a repeat, barring injuries IMO..

Agree on the repeat. No one else in the NBA really even looks that impressive outside of perhaps Memphis. If Golden State is healthy I think they'll be tough but we match up with them perfectly and Green/Curry Leonard/Klay really limits that team.
It might be the homer in me, but I think with the exception of opening night against Dirk and Co., this team has been really pacing itself. After the ridiculousness of last year's title run, it's probably pretty hard to get up for the games and really fight for rebounds that just don't mean that much. If we get to late January and we're still on a 7-4 pace, that will be concerning, but for now I just want our guys to stay healthy and work on their shot. I think they're probably looking a bit down the road as well.
IIRC, December is usually a tough month for our team, and we have a ton of games (18?) that month. That will be a tough test but if we go into the playoffs with a top 3 seed we're going to play a lighter schedule in the late part of the season.

TD but Splitter's absence has been enormously felt in each game, especially against the Kings, and I'm sure TD misses him more than anybody.

Yeah especially when he subbed Duncan out twice when all we needed was a championship-clinching rebound.
