OKC's bench is really bad, comeback was expected, but it won't mean anything if the starters keep playing with the same lack of energy they have played with all game against Westbrook/Adams/Ibaka..

Hell, today our bench has been better than the starters, especially from an effort standpoint

Splitter's layups always look like they're gonna pop out, but they usually go in. WTF.

Johnny RIngo

12 assists - Manu
3 assists - Parker

Parker's inability to competently run the offense is killing the starting unit. Thank god we have Manu.

Boris isn't being rested. The fat bastard simply partied too hard last night. Probably thought his performance against the Clippers entitled him to drown himself in foie gras and wine.

Drank too much cheap californian wine instead of apellation controllé. Got a big hangover.

DMC

There's some serious bias up in here. Spurs should have a 10pt lead right now. Refs aren't making the rebounds go the other way, aren't making Spurs players miss defensive assignments.

Then again, Green was fouled on that drive and later ball went of OKC`s hands. Biased or not, that`s always happen vs Thunderefs

You guys who are getting so worked up over this game and a potential loss crack me up. Have you not learned anything over the past few years? It's an afternoon game, its the regular season, two major stars on both teams aren't playing and you expect to learn something from the result.

Win or lose, we'll learn nothing from this game. What we know for sure is that the Spurs know how to beat the Thunder in a 7 game series. Any intimidation factor and psychological hangover from 2012 is gone. They don't have Harden anymore, Sefolosha and Fisher are gone and the F'n wicked witch is dead. We own the latest scoreboard against the Thunder when it counts and when we are healthy. Don't sweat this game so much. If we lose, we lose. Once everyone is healthy, the Spurs will do what it takes to improve their playoff seeding. Will it be # 1? Probably not, but who knows.

When the real season starts, I expect the Spurs to cruise to Chip # 6. In the meantime, let Westchimp do what he does, let Perkins make all the faces he wants. In the 4th quarter, Westchimp will probably be tired and take some horrendous shot or make a terrible decision down the stretch. If he plays smart, maybe they win. I think the Spurs will find a way to pull out the victory but it won't be the end of the world if they lose. Just a speed bump.

Carry on. So says the Oracle Of Smugness.

Calispursfan11
12-25-2014, 04:38 PM
Splitter's shots are almost like shovel shots, not pretty. He usually releases his layups almost from the hip. Not sure where that's an advantage other than the fact it's a quicker release. It seems to have worked for him in general though.

That's what this team does. I don't know why people think Parker is a constant heroballer, the dude has been a very good assist man in an offense that makes upwards of 6 passes per possession.

Tony would have a lot more assists if we didn't move the ball from all positions so well.

Spurs know how to beat the Thunder in a 7 game series if their center is injured. Sure he came back, but let's be honest here, the Thunder were not at full strength last year and even in the Finals James was cramped up after the AC game. Spurs played wonderfully, but let's not pretend they had it in the bag the entire time. A lot of things had to happen on the periphery for that to happen.

Win or lose, Westbrook will be lauded as a hero because of his stat line, but he's taken the bulk of the team's shots and has a lower shooting percentage than the team overall which means he's dragging their shooting down. That wouldn't be the case if he was getting shot attempts they otherwise wouldn't get, but he's not. His style of play will cost his team again like it has in the past, maybe not this game but it will. The only caveat here is that KD is out, and RW thinks he has to step up his offensive game. RJ tried that and got nowhere but back on the bench.
