Newton has shown time and time again that he can win the game in the pocket against elite and above average defenses. You can show me all the completion percentages, QBR, etc you want, but you also won't respond to the flaws with that basis - Alex Smith, Tyrod Taylor and Hoyer would be elite QB's in that regard.

He also had by far the best running back in the league. The past four games, his best of the season, Rawles averaged 6 yards a carry and racked up 900 yards. He is now injured.

I always tell people to let things develop, but the fact that Newton led a 2-14 team to a 13-0 record must be overrated because he has a lower completion %. Never mind that Hoyer has a higher % than Brady, but that obviously is the indicator of success.
