He was flat-out abysmal for most of the first half. Even in the second half, he was mostly getting lucky on some deep throws. He really didn't play that good of a game, tbh.

their first 2-3 possessions were ugly, but as they routinely showed, there was literally nowhere to throw :lol

after that point they moved the ball pretty easily and wilson was making plays. you can call them getting lucky but they were all well placed balls. he played a damn good game and got them down the field. and then they made one of the worst play calls in nfl history and lost the game

You're Philo-ing again. There was definitely a couple times where he had open receivers but he aimlessly scrambled around and chucked up terrible throws or got dropped for a loss.

Wilson was not the problem in this game.

If Wilson had changed the play from a Lynch run, this would be different.
The play should have never been called, it's an inside pick, there are way too many folks close to the ball. And you got Lynch, it's an inexcusable call putting the QB in a horrible spot.

He played 2 good quarters and 2 bad ones, so it's hard to call that a damn good game. He's not a shit QB, but he made one of the shittiest throws in SB history.

All it proves is what his detractors have said all along--he's just a game manager who should play second-fiddle in his own backfield

He only had 12 completions the entire game with a 57% completion percentage, which is below average in today's NFL. One of those completions was that miracle catch on the last drive. How is that considered "damn good?"

prior to the pass he was 12-20 for 247 yards with 2 TD's and no picks. that was good for a QBR of 137

even after the pick was QBR was above 110 :lol

you can say he only had 12 completions but they averaged 21 yards a pop, not to mention Kearse dropping what should have been an easy catch on a picture perfect ball.

Stupid, last seasons SB (two, remembe dummy?) was a tad bit bigger than the NFC title game, ya reckon? Do you ever get anything right, ever?
Nope, this year's playoff run was bigger. Struggle needed wins in which he dominated in order to validate his media-anointed status as an elite quarterback and to prove that last season wasn't a fluke. He proceeded to play Ryan Lindley/Joe Webb caliber football in the NFC title game and get bailed out by Green Bay's retarded coaching staff. Then he took almost an entire half of the Super Bowl off and threw an atrocious game-losing pick. Now it's abundantly clear he's nothing more than a game manager on a stacked team.

Let's see what kind of $$$$$ this record breaking QB gets, ok moron?
The rest of the NFC is hoping and praying Struggle becomes the highest-paid QB in football. That means Seattle's run is over and Dallas and Arizona can take the next step.

Nobody is thinking the Pats won that game and we all know it. They got lucky and we all saw it.
At least we can agree on that, the Pats did get lucky as hell that Seattle tried to make their game-manager QB look like a hero. Belichick not taking a timeout would have gone down as one of the dumbest calls in Super Bowl history if not for Struggle.

He had one of the worst games in NFL history last week, until he changed the entire narrative with some clutch throws..the media and fans were eating his ass after those throws in the 4th and OT..

If you're going to ignore everything minus the most important plays in the game, then all that matters is that Wilson committed one of the biggest choke jobs in NFL history, tbh..

he did. it was a poor decision all around. worst playcall in NFL history... but even then it was a season-killing decision to make that throw. my point in all this is that you can't take 1 throw and define a player by it. saying "lol he threw a pick he's a shit qb" is just casual fans overreacting

No, you lose because you say insanely stupid shit like Wilson played a "great" game last year--when he was pedestrian at best until the game was essentially over at 29-0. Then you said he played a damn good game until that last throw (possibly the worst unintentional INT in SB history, mind you), when he did nothing in the entire first quarter and led them to nothing in the 4th quarter.

Passer rating (also known as quarterback rating, QB rating, or passing efficiency in college football) is a measure of the performance of passers, primarily quarterbacks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarterback), in American football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football)and Canadian football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_football).[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passer_rating#cite_note-NFLQBRating-1) There are two formulae currently in use: one used by both the National Football League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Football_League) (NFL) and Canadian Football League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Football_League) (CFL), and the other used in NCAA football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_football). I dont care who throws that pick, even if it was a dooming mistake.. when you have a RB like Lynch and are 1 yard away from the title.. place and time 21 seconds and 1 timeout and 3 downs.. its just a shockingly terrible playcall and eerily reminds me of Carrolls mismanagement of the 2006 Rose Bowl blowing a 38-26 lead to Texas and making a questionable 4th and 2 playcall.

Bad playcall, but you're sounding like a Wilson apologist trying to overshadow the actual INT being thrown, tbh..

Definitely should have given it to your best player on 2nd down from the 1 yard line, especially with a few downs remaining, it was a terrible call..however, the QB still threw one of the worst INTs you'll ever see(considering the circumstances)..puzzling, especially for an intelligent QB like Wilson..

Ghazi

its only one of the worst INTs ever given circumstance thats it. Still not handong it to your best offensive player and best short yardage runner and just a flat out fucking boss 1 yard away from the end zone? I think thats just being. wilson hater not me being a Wilson apologist. Football is tbe game where coaches fingerprints have the most impact ans the OC and Carroll are the biggest at fault. that INt doesnt even hurt Wilsons legacy.

Fran Tarkenton/Jim Kelly both HOFers went 0-7in SB's.

Namath, Young, only played in one.

Moon
Rivers
Romo
Fouts

never played in one.

RW already more success than all them, and has as many SB wins as Peyton Manning had in his long career.

Lynch falls down in the endzone and RW wins the MVP award.

this. even on a terrible playcall, you can always throw it away instead of forcing it into traffic. to be fair, the defender made a great play to jump the route the way he did, you can't always account for that (see Brady's 2nd pick where Wagner jumped the route in front of a seemingly open Gronk).

there's never an excuse for a pick like that. if you're wilson, you have to realize its 2nd down. if its not open, just live to fight another down. uncharacteristic. usually the one thing wilson is good at is avoiding picks

Who fucking cares about college recruiting in the NFL? The guy who picked Struggle off to clinch the win came from a D-2 school.

no, you've just misrepresented my point and claimed victory. its fine man, wilson threw the game icing pick, and you can bask in that glory.
Wow, you got a little emo with that last sentence. He's exactly what we thought he was, a game manager. That's all there is to take from this latest playoff run. The difference this year is that instead of his play being a non-factor in the outcome, he actually was a factor in this game--but for the wrong reason.

I know, that's why I call you stupid.

Why didn't the big schools recruit Joe Flacco like they did Russell Wilson, now think ya fucking moron. Damn you're dumb.

Why couldn't the Seahawks stop Edelman, Gronk and Amendola?

BTW, Flacco started out at Pitt (a major conference school) and transferred to Delaware.

In all honesty, if you replaced Wilson with almost any SpursTalk poster, Seattle wins the game, tbh..

Oh yeah I forgot, he was chased out of Pitt by...

In 2004, he was the backup quarterback finding limited playing time behind starter Tyler Palko (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Tyler_Palko). He only saw action in three games against Ohio University (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Ohio_Bobcats_football), University of Nebraska (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Nebraska_Cornhuskers_football), and the University of South Florida (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/South_Florida_Bulls_football). He finished the season with one completion for 11 yards.

How many here can run a 4.5 40? How about throw a football 60 yards? Who here can run the read option? Who here can run away from NFL defender for 4-5 seconds then throw a 30 yard lazer? Well?

I can recognize to not throw Interceptions on the 1 yard line

How about being the winnigest QB in NFL history after three seasons? How about winning a SB and playing in two before turning 27?

If we were playing as the Seahawks QB, we wouldn't have to do much, tbh..

- Hand off to Lynch
- Make 1 or 2 good throws
- Let the defense get a few INTs to give us great field position
- Run a few times
- Thank God and cry
- Don't throw the worst INT in the history of Super Bowl to lose the game

I can give you a list of QBs that threw an INT from the 1 yard line to lose the Super Bowl:

Wilson, Russell

Or...

Throw the most td passes as a rookie in NFL history
Win more games as a third year QB in history
Play in two SB in first three seasons
Hold the NFL passer rating after three seasons record.
Play in more games in first three seasons in NFL history

So you think Trent Dilfer was better than Dan Marino,...right? So there is no debate over Luck vs RW, since RW has been in two SB's and Luck..0...right? So according to you Doug Wiliams was better than Warren Moon....right?

I'm talking about choking in the biggest possible moment..

Great QBs love pressure, they would all take the opportunity to be at the 1 yard line in the Super Bowl, with the game on the line and the ball in their hands..the truly great QBs want the game in their hands, they want to control their own destiny..

Wilson had this opportunity, but the pressure overwhelmed him, he couldn't come through for his team..he's the only QB in the history of the NFL to throw an INT from the 1 yard line in the Super Bowl, with the game in his hands..first in history:wow:wow..

Unfortunately, he couldn't handle the pressure..
