Why foul? Play defense and hit a 3 and it makes it a 2 pt game. Now you're giving up free pts :td

No home court for possibly 3 series would be very difficult considering the parity of teams in the west. Mentioned it before and saying it again, it would be epic if we win it all this year.

Not winning shit with Pop rolling our the Parker/Marco lineup like tonight.

milkyway21
04-15-2015, 09:18 PM
now Pop puts in Green so he is not hurt? CIA Pop BS

That's what I'm thinking.

pop's coaching job tonight was horrible, but i'm not afraid of the clippers. I'd much rather play them or portland than dallas. I think dallas can beat houston

04-15-2015, 09:19 PM
Danny hasn't taken a shot in 18 minutes of play. Is he sulking?

Kawhi hasn't attempted a 3. Why are people saying he's missed 3 of them? Is the box score wrong?

timtonymanu
04-15-2015, 09:19 PM
At least the Thunder are out lmao!!!!!

It isn't worth a first round exit for us though.

Mugen
04-15-2015, 09:19 PM
-Pop not calling timeouts early.
-CoJo getting too many minutes
-Taking Patty out for TP
-Beli/Manu playing way too much
-Green/Kawhi not playing enough

:lol sometimes you gotta wonder tbh

ironman2886

Pop didn't have this team ready. Benching Green, and not punching rainman in the chest to pump him up was on him.

Spurs can beat all those teams on the road, except GSW. They won't get HCA against them anyhow. If you need an easier road, you're not fit to compete.

Nothing is impossible but you have to getting pretty close to homer glasses territory to discredit history facts. No one is saying spurs cant but its a much more difficult road without the HCA and history backs that up. Hopefully the Spurs can make new history though.

SpurPadre
04-15-2015, 09:20 PM
Hopefully Paul George gets extended minutes today against the Grizzlies. 5th seed with HCA is still within grasp. Gotta hope for that. At least we're making the Dubs nervous. Dubs get a tougher 1st round matchup without the crippled Thunder and then they will get us...if the Pacers help us out.

French players in general are all overrated. Parker, Batum, Mahinmi, DeColo, Beaubois - all either low IQ basketball players or choke artists when the pressure's on. Boris is the exception. Very Robert Horry-esque with his ability to step up in the playoffs. Almost too good for that shitty country.

Considering all the injuries & how on/off the team was playing up until recently, it's still good to see some kind of a streak, like this recent one (less tonight's effort), which is better than not having one... time is now to defend that title in a few days :)

Right, and no team in NBA history won with the margin the Spurs did in the Finals last year.

Teams that have HCA historically are better teams in the 1st place. No so this season.

Exactly. If we can survive till we get Splitter back that could be the difference maker in winning it all from 6 and an early exit.

You've got to go back to the old avi my nigga.

Personally I think it was all the Wendy votes against Melissa in the Melissa vs Wendy thread. Bad Karma!:lol

I'll go back to my old avi, bro. Thing is as my streak is over. Someone else should probably do the first playoff game. I was 16-3, but you're only as good as your last game.

Man yall acting like somebody died. can't believe spurs fans are afraid of the clippers. They aint shit. Jordan won't even play in teh 4th from hack-a-jordan and the lane will be wide open. Green and Leonard will Guard Crawford and Paul and we'll put Parker's sorry ass on barnes or reddick for defense.

GG guys.

The Pelicans played their guts out & had a flukish 2nd Quarter. That was the difference. You guys will win #6 despite your seed.
Pels looked good, they knew they had to win and they beat a 55 win team that was on a 11 game win streak. A few shots might have been a fluke but regardless, the Pelicans forced a bunch of live ball turnovers and were just too fast for the Spurs. I don't know if they can beat the Warriors but hopefully they make it a fight.

French players in general are all overrated. Parker, Batum, Mahinmi, DeColo, Beaubois - all either low IQ basketball players or choke artists when the pressure's on. Boris is the exception. Very Robery Horry-esque with his ability to step up in the playoffs. Almost too good for that shitty country.

I deny you the right to appreciate something/someone coming from France. It's like asking a retarded 5 months old pig to read and review a book of Albert Camus : this is non sense.

Indiana's season is on the line. They, like the Pelicans, must win to make playoffs.

It's not the same situation and you know it. Memphis don't have as much to play for. Memphis are at home so that automatically takes some pressure off them. Indiana are on the road and fighting for the 8th seed, they're at a much larger disadvantage to what NO was at tonight. If this game was at Indiana, then you could say that it was a similar situation and Indiana would have had as much of a chance and NO did tonight.

Spurs still shit the bed though, no excuses for that. I've got more fire than these guys. I have no idea why they're not motivated every game.

Also, no offense to the Pelicans and their fans (good win, you guys deserved it), but why the fuck would any of you idiots here be happy about OKC not making the playoffs? They could potentially get a lottery pick out of this.

If you're a Spurs fan, you should have wanted OKC in so they can get as worse of a pick as possible. They're not going to win the Championship, so them making it would have been better. The same shit could happen as when the Lakers missed the playoffs in 2005 and ended up with Andrew Bynum because of it. That always pissed me off as the Spurs had to keep settling for washed up veterans while LA got a darn good lottery pick out of it and it. They got two more championships out of missing the playoffs that one season and it could have been much worse for the Spurs if Bynum had of stayed healthy and fully interested in Basketball.

That's exactly what I'm thinking about in regards to OKC not being in the playoffs. All you guys that didn't want them in, I just have no idea why. It doesn't make sense to me on any level. They had no chance of winning, so it was all good. All this does it give them a better chance at a better draft pick. It also lets Ibaka heal and gives Westbrook more time to heal over the off-season. Durant, they fucked up on, not sure what they can do with that one. They should have had him resting in the first place. If anything, not having him sit out more games at the start of the season may screwed the Spurs chances of getting the 2nd seed even more, as NO probably wouldn't have been playing to make the playoffs tonight.

I'm not sure about the percentages but they have a very slim chance of going higher. usually the best team of the lottery ends up at 14.

Tim Duncan, PF 33 MIN | 6-9 FG | 3-4 FT | 10 REB | 6 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 15 PTS | -2 +/-Ineffective first half, really good second half. Omer Asik gives him fits on the block because he’s big and doesn’t bite on his up fakes. Either way, great finish to the regular season for Timmay.

http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/nba/players/full/6450.png&w=65&h=90&scale=crop&background=0xffffff&transparent=false
Kawhi Leonard, SF 38 MIN | 6-14 FG | 2-2 FT | 10 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 14 PTS | -3 +/-Another solid game, nothing dominant, but he looked good. Between Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday, New Orleans has a ton of ball handlers, which makes matching up on defense really tricky.

http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/nba/players/full/2968439.png&w=65&h=90&scale=crop&background=0xffffff&transparent=false
Aron Baynes, C 26 MIN | 4-6 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 8 PTS | -7 +/-Good game from Baynes except when he had to guard Anthony Davis. It’s not his fault, Anthony Davis is great, but things didn’t go well when that match up had to happen.

http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/nba/players/full/1015.png&w=65&h=90&scale=crop&background=0xffffff&transparent=false
Tony Parker, PG 35 MIN | 11-17 FG | 1-2 FT | 1 REB | 6 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 3 TO | 23 PTS | -11 +/-Easily the most encouraging part of the night. He was extra aggressive both getting his own shot and finding his teammates. If he’s playing like All-Star level Tony Parker in the playoffs, the first round match up won’t matter much.

Marco Belinelli, SF 15 MIN | 0-2 FG | 2-2 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 2 PTS | -7 +/-Under no circumstance should he have to guard Tyreke Evans, but given Danny Green’s foul trouble that happened a lot and it didn’t go well (unless you’re Tyreke Evans). The discouraging part was that he was missing on offense too.

http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/nba/players/full/2167.png&w=65&h=90&scale=crop&background=0xffffff&transparent=false
Boris Diaw, C 34 MIN | 10-14 FG | 0-0 FT | 5 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 4 TO | 20 PTS | -6 +/-Great game from Bobo, who looks like he’s ready for the playoffs too. Whether it’s Portland or the Clippers in the first round, aggressive Bobo is going to be an advantage for the Spurs.

http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/nba/players/full/4004.png&w=65&h=90&scale=crop&background=0xffffff&transparent=false
Patty Mills, PG 11 MIN | 6-8 FG | 1-1 FT | 0 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 15 PTS | +13 +/-Great timing if he really has found his shot? He’s shooting 40% from 3 over his last five games.

Gregg Popovich
Curious game from Pop tonight. Nice job to motivate the team in the second half, but no Patty Mills and no Danny Green for much of the game was weird. Game didn’t thrown by any means, but I think Pop is the last guy that cared about seeding tonight.
http://espn.go.com/i/nfl/grades/grade_aminus.jpg

Three Things We Saw

Totally understandable if you’re pissed about this loss. It’s likely going to put them in the six seed against the Clippers (Memphis game hasn’t been decided as of writing this). That’s a little ridiculous that the two hottest teams in the league have to play each other in the first round.
At the same time, the Spurs are playing so well, a lot of feel who they play in the first round really won’t matter. They will and should be the favorites in that series. Going on the road for three straight series before the Finals isn’t ideal, but the Spurs have shown they can win on the road in the playoffs.
Anthony Davis is awesome. That is all.
