Pop has to gamble more than just about any other coach to make up for his aging stars and weaker overall roster.

Sometimes, it backfires. Hindsight is 20/20, Clippers got very frustrated at one point and Spurs had a chance to blow the game open, they just didn't play well enough. My only beef was using a foul from Duncan on hacking, terrible mistake there.

He's not overrated - still the best coach in the NBA. Unfortunately, the non-stop praise from the media has given him a ridiculous ego that's resulted in him overcoaching far too often these days. They've been saying Pop's the most important component of the Spurs so much the past few years that I think Pop himself believes it now.
