SPURS WIN :toast

Anyway:

TP looked pretty bad at times, but he didn't force shots and a couple of really important plays at the end
Danny is as cold as ice,his defense is top though...and he made 2 layups in a row :wow
Kawhi played better in the first half, but he hit a vital three-pointer down the stretch closed the game with two clutch FTs...still needs to understand when it's time to pass and involve his teammates and when it's time to shoot, but overall a reaaaaally good performance
LMA's still struggling to find his place into the Spurs offense, but his hustle, rebounding and defense have been remarkable and even unexpected tbh he still came through in the 4th and took us home...oh he also had 5 assists, this season's gonna be fun
Timmy looked better than what the boxscore might suggest,he nearly always did the right thing...had a couple of bad turnovers tho
Patty was good, his shot is falling and he had the highest plus-minus on the team
Manu made 2 or 3 really stupid mistakes, but the difference in ball movement and team play when he's out there is clear...he kept us in the game in the 2nd and finished the game with 13 points,8 rebounds,3 assists and 3 steals...3 turnovers as well, but that's a given :lol
Rasual had some nice plays,he's a good defender and 3 point shooter,he'll be really useful
BoBo's aggressiveness was encouraging to say the least, his BBIQ is off the mark and we know it,but when he really comes to play it shows and makes all the difference
David didn't play much, but he doesn't seem to fit with BoBo,he's too small to play center...as LMA,he's still looking to find his place, hopefully he'll be fine when it matters

I doubt it. Lamarcus is going to get and should get more touches as a big, although he's a willing passer and TD should get some easy baskets, but with the emergence of Kawhi and now LMA, I don't see it.

You both could be right. Though I think he'll get 20 on a night where he has a lot of put backs and/or FT's. He was at 15 only last game.

I have seen it since preseason. I don't like that either. He wasn't like that before. I particularly dislike when he stays on the floor making a scene of a noncall. I saw it in preseason and it ended in a fastbreak for the other team. It was just preseason, but still.

Lots of Spurs players do this. Maybe Leonard sticks out more because he never spoke up for himself before.

Absolutely. It's like other aspects of his game, he'll learn when to and when not to. If it becomes an issue I'm sure Pop will have a talk with him. Right now it appears Pop is letting him find his place across the board. Sometimes it'll be pretty while other times not so.

We'll see how he does as the season progresses but I like to believe Leonard will find his balance.

It's natural for Superstars to complain as Harlem pointed. They should tbh..That's how you get favorable calls in the long-run anyway.

It's also essential to complain about calls as it serves the player on the long-run. I wouldn't be surprised if he was encouraged to complain about bad calls.

Complains do lead to favorable calls in the long-run..This is pretty darn evident. It's important that he's given the freedom to complain. TD has done it his whole career tbh.

It just puts pressure on the officiating to make the next call in your favour...If you're going to be a Go to Guy, imo...you need to be able to complain.

Obviously you don't want to whine and complain at every call, but it's essential that Kawhi starts vocing his opinion now to establish himself late in the season..

The game is not all rainbows tbh..You need to dirty up and use those refs..

For example Durant gets favorable calls more than any other superstar because he also complains the most...Just look at his Techincal call.

Pop gets away with Murder sometimes because he gets tons of T too..

You need to learn how to work the refs as a superstar..

basketball is not all Kombaya....blah blah..lets allb e friends.

yeah, and I argue with his current usage rate he'd would need to do it.

It's really one of the best thing that you can do to get favourable calls.

And like you said, it just makes the players comfortable.

I'm not sure why people are complaining. It's a good sign really

Complaining about calls is sort of like flopping, fans don't like seeing it but it ends up netting the player extra calls. Also the reason Kawhi is complaining more is because he's taking a lot more contested shots/ dealing with more contact than when he was mostly just a corner 3 guy early on.

It is to be expected too, there will be physical play and not every thing will be called. Too much whining just gets you to be ignored TBH, like crying wolf. Anyways, to me the disturbing thing is just the sitting on the floor whining. He did that in preseason too. Not a fan.

Yea, I saw him do it in preseason too, but that one time it led to points on the other end as his teammates were defending 4 v. 5. I hope it doesn't continue. He is usually or was the kind of guy to shake off that stuff and run right back.

You know what,he's obviously a fantastic shooter, but despite still trying to fit in he's also showing a BBIQ and an ability to do many things on the court outside of scoring I didn't expect him to have,so at the end of his contract he probably won't be the elite big man he is now,but he could still be a way more than serviceable NBA-player...he's not one to rely too much on athletism after all,we're not talking about Howard or DeAndre Jordan

My sleep has been very intermittent lately, and must confess, I get online too often as I'm procrastinating on my next project. In general, as I am in Riga, I force myself to stay up for east coast games, and conversely, go to sleep early and get up at 5-6 am to catch west coast games. It's hard on my productivity. I swore that this year, I'd only watch 1 Spurs game a week until the playoffs, but so far I haven't missed a game (including preseason and summer league). :lol I'm an addict, I think!

I grew up in Nevada, and have never even been to San Antonio! But my family is both military and from Virginia, so they followed Robinson a lot, and I started rooting for the Spurs when they drafted David. I became even more hardcore when we drafted Timmy as like him I was a competitive swimmer (swam Division I), big video game and D&D geek (I used to work for EA), so I thought it was cool to have a great player with similar interests to mine. My dad also went to the Air Force Academy (though not at the same time as Pop). So that cemented things further. Now, living in Europe it was really cool when we had the Foreign Legion!

Being from Vegas, you pretty much have to pick your sports team, as we don't have major pro teams in the area (except the Runnin' Rebels in the Tark days! :lol ) For example, even though I root for the Spurs, my football team is the Miami Dolphins. (Lived in Miami for 3 years post college.) Most Vegas area people end up fans of California teams, so when we swept the Lakers in '99, I was pretty much set as an anti-Laker, hardcore Spurs fan for life. Too much fun mocking my Laker-loving friends.

Cheers man!:toast

I have ILP, but don't want to risk finding out the score before I watch the game. Yeah, its silly, but well...I said I was an addict. :lol

I always try to sleep a little before the game ... but I am also this kind of addict who does not even need an alarm clock to wake up right around game time. This team really needs to gel faster so I am more calm again and can get more sleep tbh

Yes me too. I don't want the stress of the "process" of integrating pieces. It's hard on the nerves!:lol
