I hate to read something like this in a preview ...
"Marcus Smart has gotten off to a slow start (5 of 19), as has backcourt mate Avery Bradley (6 of 17), Evan Turner (4 for 16) and newcomer David Lee (4 of 13) ..."
at least David Lee will go bonkers against the Spurs ...
It is usually by design that some scrub gets opportunities against the spurs, and thus with relative frequency, one of them will go off against us. The spurs want to take away their first, second and third options, we dare the opposition to beat us with their fourth or later options. So if that leaves someone less talented on the opponent's roster open or with our weakest defender on him, or someone we're doubling off of to shoot, then Pop will live that.
Had a ping pong ball not landed in our favor, this could've happened

Love Daylight Savings Time tbh.
Except that #21 is retired in Beantown. But yea, would've completely changed the landscape of the NBA. He would've played on a team with Ron Mercer and Antoine Walker on it his first year, which would've been weird. And they obviously wouldn't have had a high enough pick to draft Pierce the following year. The entire landscape of the Eastern Conference was massively affected by that pick for the past 18 years.

of course you are right ... and fans of other teams feel the same about e.g. DG when he drops 7 threes on them after being cold for the last 5 games or so ...
We just have to play consistent basketball and we will win with more talent. And don't let IT go off and get other playing above their heads. I never understood why more teams don't trap him in the half-court during the regular season.
Celtics didn't have the luck of the Irish for that draft lottery.
So long ago and thank god for that spurs ball not popping out ....
Celtics have a really tough defensive perimeter(Smart/Bradley/Crowder) but are atrocious at defending the interior, tbh..hopefully a lot of paint attacks today..
If lma cant get 15+ david lee....this a perfect game for him to get going with that frontcourt
I think Boston is underrated, and we're playing on the road. Probably won't be as easy of a win as some here might expect, but hopefully I'm wrong. Parker guarding Isaiah Thomas might get ugly, so Green might have to spend some time on him down the stretch.
Regardless, still expecting a win today. Would be cool for the big 3 to break Bird/McHale/Parish's record for most wins by a trio in Boston.
