Even just whacking the ulner nerve can be a real sonofabitch. It hurts like hell and makes your hand immediately go numb.

With him shaking his hand like that, I bet he hit the ulner HARD. It's not usually anything other than a REALLY bad case of funny bone pain essentially.

2nd consecutive game where Patty gives good defensive minutes, tbh..hopefully he keeps it up, keep flopping..

I thought Patty improved his defense toward the end of 2014 season/playoffs. His defensive improvement was the area I was worried about most when he missed the start of last season. I thought him being out could seriously affect the progress I thought he was making on that end of the court. I really think if he was able to play at the start of last season, he would have taken his game to another level on both offense and defense. Hopefully, this season he can go ahead with that continuation from the 2014 finals and build on it.

And that's ESPN's best lineup, tbh... miss the days of the play-by-play guys for ESPN Brad Nessler/Brent Musburger/Al Michaels rotation along with Tirico (who is still very good, but Breen and the rest are awful), tbh... with Bill Walton, Snapper Jones, Tom Tolbert, and several other color commentators that just made ESPN/ABC NBA so much better than it is today.

We did not bring LaMarcus here to get Sixth Man of the Year. I advocate moving Timmy to second unit this year, next year and possibly the year after. He played 21 minutes tonight.

10 years!!!

Jordan Howenstine @AirlessJordan
(https://twitter.com/AirlessJordan)Matt Bonner's season debut gives him 10 straight years with the Spurs. Only others to play 10-straight: Duncan, Parker, Ginobili & Robinson.

Looking forward to the Jersey retirement ceremony tbh

I LOVED that Pop went with Butler as the true back-up SF this game instead of giving him and Anderson spot minutes. Its clear Butler is a plus every time he is on the floor.

The greatest thing is that Anderson has someone that he has to fight his minutes for. So is improve or die for him. That must be good.

Kawhi has a forearm sprain.
For real?
He played with it though.
You are not kidding right?

Does Bonner have dirt on Popovich?

Gotta be, or he's Pop's illegitimate son.

Too bad we play them on January. A long way to go

Hopefully the Spurs are rolling by then. I think Golden State runs roughshod over the Spurs in their current form.

what is he listed height? he looks huge out there man when with the bench...

He's listed as 6'7" but yes, he looks taller than Kawhi. More like a true 6'8".

Pop is really really strict this year. A lot of those things went on last year and the team was loafing around TBH.

I suspect there were many defensive issues though still to talk about, there was a layup line at one point at the rim and as always the dreaded Diaw/West combo got killed in OBoards and and lack of rim protection.
But its like :deadhorseat this point. We are bound to continue to see them together bc Tim needs a breather. When another team goes small/perimeter its not such a big deal bc then they can't rebound either, the problem is when there are bigs on the bench and you need them together. It is a given truth at this point that in all reality West is not a 5, even a bench one.

That's disturbing.

You want to know what is disturbing? Bonner is not looking at this season as possibly being his last.

I've wanted Bonner gone for a long time - that's no secret, but with this current team the past few seasons, I've actually been OK with his role. If he could still shoot, I probably wouldn't have as much of a problem with him getting spot minutes to knock down shots and spread the floor, but if he can't hit a shot, then I have no clue why he's still on the team. I wonder if the Spurs are evaluating him in practice during this early part of the season?

Looking ahead for the Spurs' next "measuring stick" game. Depending on your definition, it might be 12/18 against the Clippers

Yeah, got to come to grips with the fact that he'll never leave or at the very least retire a Spur AFTER TD, Manu, and TP are all gone.

Forcing switches of the Blazer midgets onto Diaw and Leonard post-ups was a thing of beauty. So many easy points.
