You know you fucked up when you have Lebron defending Curry and Kobe all chiming in in the same day.
Curry has put his team mates and coach in a terrible position. Kerr already said he thinks it should be a team decision. If Curry doesn't want to go, don't go - he's already been for the first championship.
But for the other (lesser name) team mates who didn't go to the WH for the first one, they are now forced to choose between supporting a team mate (whose opinions they may or may not agree with) and being honored at the WH. Each player should be allowed to decide for himself if he wants to go and it takes away from one of the perks of winning.
With all the publicity Curry has caused by opining on this topic (without even an invitation yet), each player who goes will be scrutinized (and probably bashed) - that's if the player even gets the choice of going. Conformity to public/popular opinion is almost a necessity for one's career these days (especially for lesser names).

LOL. They were never going.
Steve Kerr called Trump a blowhard and ill-suited to be president. Also this:
This isn't the first time Kerr has been critical of Trump. He spoke candidly after Trump's election win to the media and essentially called out the American people, and has also spoken on recent issues such as the travel ban Trump deployed (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/warriors-kerr-spurs-popovich-speak-out-against-president-trumps-travel-ban/).

My point is that it doesn't matter what your opinion is on Trump - you shouldn't get to decide for anyone else whether he goes to the WH if invited. It might not be a big deal for KD, Curry and Kerr who hobnob with the elites/famous people, but for the lesser players, it's the chance of a lifetime to be honored at the WH.

Naturally the appropriate response to an athlete being called out by the President is for those athletes to talk about crime in Chicago.

Any Warrior who now decides to go to the WH is going to be censured by the media, these NBA stars above and any team will bow to public pressure and think twice about hiring this player. It does not matter now what that player thinks/wants, he will explicitly have to follow along with the prevailing examples set for him by these stars or suffer career consequences. How's that for choice?
What is the chance of a player (not a superstar) winning a championship? Is there any guarantee that this player is on the team when the Warriors win another ring? Or that there will be another President in the WH if they do win (3 1/2 years is a long time)? Do you think that their being honored as NBA champions is like a typical tour of the White House that a tourist books?

Goodell stood up for his players and called out Trump for showing a “lack of respect” for the players: (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2734698-roger-goodell-responds-to-donald-trumps-comments-on-nfl-protests)
“The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture.
There is no better example than the amazing response from our clubs and players to the terrible natural disasters we’ve experienced over the last month.
Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.”

Yes, a handless crook that was a puppet of her, it happened the same but like a year before Trump, so I know all the liberal tricks, Cristina had like 10 channels all day talking crap about Macri, she tried to shut down the equivalent to Fox News which is Clarin ( they have a newspaper and a news channel ) but they were too powerful have been in the country for 70 years so they have lots of connections in the justice.
We had Kirchners for 12 years and a half and everything is happening to USA happened here like 10 years ago, also I noticed the poorest cities in USA like Cleveland, Chicago, Miami, Detroit and Phily had Dems around for at least 55 years, so they did nothing in all that time.
Detroit last elected a Republican mayor in 1957. It is now the model of urban failure -- it’s recognized more for its poverty, crime, rot and bankruptcy than the great cars that it turned out into the early 1970s. It is the poorest big city in the nation, with almost 40% of the population living below the poverty line. The website Law Street actually ranks Detroit ahead of Flint as the country's most dangerous city (http://lawstreetmedia.com/crime-america-2015-top-10-dangerous-cities-200000-2/). Either way, it’s clear that both cities have institutionalized crime problems.
Dont pay attention to these liberal idiots behind a computer, check this:
DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP!
Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) hasn’t elected
a Republican mayor since 1961;
Buffalo, NY (2nd) hasn’t elected one since 1954;
Cincinnati, OH (3rd)… since 1984;
Cleveland, OH (4th)… since 1989;
Miami, FL (5th) has never had a Republican Mayor;
St. Louis, MO (6th)…. since 1949;
El Paso, TX (7th) has never had a Republican Mayor;
Milwaukee, WI (8th)… since 1908;
Philadelphia, PA (9th)… since 1952;
Newark, NJ (10th)… since 1907.

Sooo, a player/team says they won't go to the Whitehouse because it's Trump. And so the President withdraws the offer. And now HE'S the one dividing the country over sports? Laughable. This crap all started with Kapernick and has made its way around the world of sports.
A lot of players refused to go to the White House because of Obama, and yet you didn't hear one word about it from him.

“All my years being in the league, I never received more emotional mail from people than I did about that issue,” Mara said regarding the anthem protests in May. “If any of your players ever do that, we are never coming to another Giants game. It wasn’t one or two letters. It was a lot. It’s an emotional, emotional issue for a lot of people, moreso than any other issue I’ve run into.”
The emotional nature of the issue perhaps has never been more clear than it has become in the last 24 hours, and than it will be in the next 24.

I'm a Democrat. Here's what I have to say. Good for Trump. He is 100% correct on this issue. In my opinion, this a cop out on the owners part and the NFL's. They have no back bone. They are too afraid to lay down the law because they are afraid of a race war. I bet you all of the owners and The Commissioner can't stand this and want to make these bafoons stand during the Anthem. I bet that is what they truly believe. What decisions they make don't necessarily line up with what they really feel. They are just too afraid to go against the black guys. If it was a bunch of white guys kneeling during the Anthem, you better believe the NFL and owners would be handing out fines and the bear minimum. They are just AFRAID of black people's reactions. See, black people are rioting in the streets over everything, using everything as an excuse to riot, assault innocent people, loot and steal and vandalize. You didn't see whites rioting in the streets when OJ was found not guilty. No, the blacks though were running the streets with signs saying "The Juice is Loose." You don't see any whites rioting in the streets over the white college kid that was shot by the cops on campus because he had a knife and came at them. Why? Because he was wrong. Black people's response is always, way over the top, dramatic and violent to everything they don't like. The NFL Commissioner and owners don't want to start World War III. Thus was nothing but a POLITICALLY BENEFICIAL move on their part. They don't REALLY feel that way. I'm sure they can't stand it. See, I quit watching football because of this and I refuse to buy anything with an NFL logo on it. I'm sure it won't do much, but if a lot of other people did the same it would. I did this because last year I was getting so jacked every single time Krappernick was on TV kneeling for the Anthem and I'm just not going to get worked up anymore until something is done about it. If it never is, I will never watch again. I watch baseball and then hockey. I don't need the NFL anyways. All the rules they have now have ruined the game anyway. It stinks now.

THE FANS ARE ALREADY NOT ATTENDING GAMES WITH BLACK PLAYERS SHOWING DISRESPECT FOR THE NATIONAL ANTHEM, FLAG AND PRESIDENT'S INVITATION TO THE WHITE HOUSE. THERE IS A 40% REDUCTION OF FANS ATTENDING THESE DISRESPECTFUL TEAMS AND THE SPONSORS HAVE PUT THE TV STATIONS ON NOTICE OF NOT GOING TO SUPPORT THIS BAD BEHAVIOR BY THE BLACK PLAYERS. SLOWLY BUT SURELY FANS ARE NOT ATTENDING GAMES AND TV OF THESE OUTRAGEOUS PLAYERS OF DECEIT AND DISTRUST. THE PRESIDENT WAS COMPLETELY RIGHT IN CALLING OUT THE TEAMS OWNERS AND PLAYERS OF DISRESPECT, NO FIRING, NO MONEY FROM FANS WHO WILL AVOID THE NFL GAMES AND THE SPONSOR WILL CUT OFF PREMIUMS FROM THE STATION AND TEAMS. Somehow the right wingers think it is worse to sit/kneel during national anthem than to vote for Donald Trump as president. Thats like saying "Fuck you" to the United States for four years.
Not really. It’s more like saying fuck you to pansy ass liberals.
A fantastic end to the Laver Cup - a weekend of stars (Federer, Nadal), legend coaches (Borg, McEnroe) and the future (Zverev, Kyrgios) honoring those who paved the way before them. NBA and NFL players should take the example of tennis and keep their protest/politics out of sport.
Kudos to Federer for the idea, organizing it and coming through in the clutch with 2 tiebreakers for the win - simply the GOAT.

You Trump supporters need to learn how to compartmentalize.
Just because a certain team of any sport is critical of a president doesn't mean you should sop watching. It's a stupid and silly approach.
Eh, you probably wouldn't mind so much if they were political views with which you agreed.
No, MJ and Federer never spout political views because they want to appeal to the widest audience and they know that there are people of all different persuasions. Does Lebron not think about the millions who voted for Trump or those in the middle who might not think kindly of the president being called "bum"? Now, Trump went too far with this "b***h" - I don't approve of that kind of language at all. The whole situation is crazy and should not be in sports at all - it should be about escape and entertainment.

I don't remember the movie about a black boxer who chose to not comment on the draft during Vietnam, but one was sure made about the one who did. These people don't exist just to entertain you, but you are free to make your statement as well. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/05/donald-trump-gregg-popovich-san-antonio-spurs-quotes-nba-playoffs-game-show-rant-video
And why should I have to watch players taking a knee - disrespecting our flag/anthem? Or watch Lebron and his team mates with his "hands up, don't shoot" protest - what a farce. I don't waste my hard earned money to see that. Do I go to work and spout off on politics? No, I don't - I know better - that the majority of government workers are Dems so whenever someone mentions Trump, I just smile and keep my mouth shut. Well, same thing, these athletes are working - providing a service/entertainment.

I am all for free speech but there is an appropriate time and place for it, and I don't think it should be the workplace. Do you think that people who work at Dunkin Doughnuts or whatever shop should be allowed to not serve policemen coffee? Or that teachers should be allowed to remove students from class rooms because they wear MAGA t-shirts?
I don't recall any conservative spouting their political views in the workplace (minus politicians/media - since that is their workplace) - they tend to keep their mouth shut but millions pulled the Trump lever in the privacy of the voting booth.

I am all for free speech but there is an appropriate time and place for it, and I don't think it should be the workplace. Do you think that people who work at Dunkin Doughnuts or whatever shop should be allowed to not serve policemen coffee?No.
Or that teachers should be allowed to remove students from class rooms because they wear MAGA t-shirts?No. But those aren't examples of people simply expressing an opinion.
I don't recall any conservative spouting their political views in the workplace (minus politicians/media - since that is their workplace) - they tend to keep their mouth shut but millions pulled the Trump lever in the privacy of the voting booth.:lol You've never heard of Ted Nugent or Kid Rock?

Should the bank officials allow that or should I, as a customer, have to listen to that?The NFL players aren't saying a word. Ultimately, employers can make decisions regarding that. I don't understand why people think it's a specifically partisan protest. I think police shootings in general are dangerously underreported. Nobody can give any reliable statistics on them because no one is required to record them. That alone is good enough reason to protest.

President Donald Trump’s director of legislative affairs charged Sunday the NBA champion Golden State Warriors were the first to politicize a White House visit that has now erupted into a sports world firestorm.
In an interview on NBC News’ "Meet The Press," Marc Short said Trump "is standing with a vast majority of people who think our flag should be respected."
Trump rescinded a White House invitation to Warriors star Stephen Curry after he indicated he wouldn’t attend with teammates. Trump vented his rage at NFL owners who wouldn’t fire players who were part of any on-field protest of racial injustice.

For me, it's just the general disrespect for the flag/anthem/country - all this anti-American feeling. America is not a perfect country, but imo, it is still the best place to live, the place with the greatest freedoms, the most opportunity, second chances, etc. People don't appreciate how good they have it here. They whine and complain about everything - get upset over every little slight, etc and not count their blessings. In other countries, there is real poverty, big problems, no safety net, etc. but people who are fortunate enough to live here not only take it for granted but actively hate the country.

“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition...
...It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses

I want those safety nets to survive and they won't if there aren't changes soon (when it's less painful) but nobody dares to touch Medicare and SS politically - do we just bury our heads in the sand and wait until 2028/2034 and decrease benefits by 17/28%? That won't be tolerated - so we'll just add to the debt until the interest becomes too much to bear or our dollar is worthless?
I re-state my opinion that Medicaid should be for the disabled/kids - not the able-bodied adults that Obamacare expanded it to. Our resources should be going toward SS and Medicare to which people contributed to all their working lives - not given away free to people with no skin in the game.

Do you think you will receive more or less from SS and Medicare than you personally contributed? Will you personally be a net gain or loss for those programs?
I didn't contribute for 21 years while raising kids so definitely I'll be a net gain - in current form, I would probably get half of the SS that my dh gets (since I doubt my 12 years before kids plus the years I work from now until say age 70 will be > half his - I had to start at the bottom of the pay scale). As far as Medicare, I think one qualifies with 10 years' credit? so definitely contribute less than I would take out.
FYI, Ryan's plan for SS reduces "home-maker" benefits to 1/2 of the average SS benefit - much less than my dh's. I am for this and for tying SS to life expectancy and raising Medicare age to 70 in order to save the programs.
Of course, all that is moot if we decide to retire in Jamaica (where medical and COL is very cheap) - in which case, we'll have put in much more than we receive (0) - who knows what will happen? Maybe I'll have grandchildren and my kids need help with them.

Snowflake demands for enforcement are, yeah. Blacks are getting uppity, so action must be taken.
Yeah, there shouldn't be a rule -- that's dumb.
Nice use of "uppity blacks" tho.

Eventually all you're going to be able to watch are Duck Dynasty and Antonio Sabato, Jr. movies, I guess.
I've never watched Duck Dynasty and have never heard of Antonio Sabato, Jr.
You are wrong, they still will have Nascar and WWE wrastling to always fall back on. I for one hope they follow through this time and ban everything. It will make for a lot less lines. Heck I might even start going to games again now that these people are banning everything.
Never watched Nascar or WWE wrestling either.

You don't give a fuck about the debt. And all you ever rant about is how you want to destroy the safety net but turn a blind eye to every other thing that contributes to our debt. You already established you think people who complain about America are whiners who hate America. Also LOL at the idea that dying because you can't afford your drugs or treatment or going into medical bankruptcy like you're itching for a return to with Trumpcare aren't real problems for Americans. LOL that Americans don't have real problems.
It's relative - are you really trying to compare being in America to being in some poor, third-world country? No one has to starve here - go to the local food bank or shelter or apply for food stamps. If some disaster happens (like hurricanes), Americans are gonna get help. They're going to drop food, supplies or look for you. If you're from a lot of other countries, don't expect the same level of help or as quickly.

No, you are. You literally do it again in the next sentence below. :lol

No one has to declare medical bankruptcy in most of the first world or be denied healthcare because they have pre-existing conditions. But you have a hard-on for a return of both via Trumpcare.

Not really. It’s more like saying fuck you to pansy ass liberals.
No, its like saying "Fuck you" to the United States of America....for four straight years.
You cared so little about our country you were willing to vote for someone completely ridiculous. Trump is stranger than fiction. If this were a movie, I would criticize it for being absurd. Just to spite people who believe in different things.
Sad.

Jamaica houses the University of West Indies which produces many physicians - there is no cap on residencies there like what Medicare places on the US residencies so the supply is high and therefore medical is cheap. Most don't have insurance - they just go to the doctor when they're sick. And people don't sue others (whether doctors or accidents/anything) as they do here - totally different system/culture.

Why don't you advise them to leave now?
Considering they are 8 and 6, they really can't.
So which is it? Are you condemning the nfl players for bringing light to the problems of America? Are you standing in solidarity with Trump? Because you clearly have a problem with me not having a hard on for everything USA. Are you a hypocrite or just a racist?

I hate that when I turn on Fox Sports and Pop starts spouting off about Trump in the middle of the fucking game.
But as a Spur fan, I do listen to the players' and coaches interviews and read articles posted on the Spurs. Couldn't avoid hearing him if I followed the team closely.
